    Single king room

We stayed at this hotel as a stop on a longer road trip. The price was right as we planned to arrive late and leave early in the morning. We arrived. Check-in was easy and quick as they had our reservation set to go (keys programmed, etc). We'd requested a renovated room, and our request was met. Our room was on the second floor which was fine. However, we were traveling with some large items that we didn't want to leave unattended in the car. We needed an elevator to get them in the room. While they did have carts to help us get the items into the hotel, there were only 2 elevators located around a labyrinth of hallways far from our room and parking space. During our walk, we did get to see much of the hotel. Two large entertaining areas set for banquets, weddings, etc. These rooms are open to the hotel rooms around and above the areas. Much of the hotel was dark as the hotel didn't have many guests and/or was undergoing renovation. Our renovated room was nice. You can tell that they are making an effort to improve the rooms/hotel. I did notice that they did not all aspects of the room. For example, the tub and shower fixtures were part of the original room. They were old and didn't work properly as the tub did not drain without you manually opening the trap every few seconds. Definitely worth the price. Would stay again if on the road...

No attempt was made to protect their guests.

Stopped at front door. Ice skating rink. No salt or anything. Pulled around to door by room. Risked our lives getting to door. In morning brown water ran for 2 minutes in the shower. Risked lives walking to car to leave. Never again!

I was pleasantly surprised by the quick check in, the cleanliness of the hotel lobby area and my room. The fitness room was small but well equipped so I could get a good workout in after a day of driving. I had a quiet room that overlooked fields in the back. I felt safe and comfortable and I got a decent nights sleep. Breakfast in the morning was decent too. The only drawback for this hotel is that if you want dinner, you're going to have to drive a bit down into Montpelier or Bryan as the options directly around the hotel are limited. I was not inclined to go out again, so I ended up eating the snacks I brought for dinner.

This area doesn't have a lot of hotels but there's a Quality Inn, a motel, and this hotel all within a block or two. I have the IHG credit card so I chose this hotel. I booked a room with 2 queen beds since it was cheaper than 1 king; upon check-in, I asked if they had any kings, hoping maybe I would get a free upgrade since I have silver status with them, but unfortunately they said a room with a king bed would be $30 more, so I kept my original room. Pros: -spacious room, and the bed was comfortable -only three floors and you're never far from the elevator -has both a minifridge and a microwave. The minifridge was rather tall actually and when I tried to open the fridge it kept moving a little bit -free breakfast and some of the reviews on here were complaining about it, whereas others called it a continental breakfast. It was a typical of IHG breakfasts I have experienced lately and it actually had quite a lot of hot options too -The Wi-Fi was fast and mostly reliable, however it would not work for my Nintendo Switch. I had no issues for my iPad and phones though. Cons: -rooms are definitely a bit dated. However, my room was very clean. -No restaurant on site but that is typical of Holiday Inn Express hotels that I have stayed at. There's a restaurant attached to Quality Inn called JJ Winns that I did takeout from, which was good. -The minifridge was actually too cold; I put a bottle of water in the side door so I would have it for pills for the morning and it was actually mostly ice in the morning unfortunately. I'm sure this can be adjusted but I didn't think to do so. Overall I would stay here again, it was an adequate stay and the price wasn't too bad either (about $122 for the night, before taxes, comparable to the other hotels in the area).

The room was clean and tidy, no foul or odd smells. The HVAC system had a contstant-on setting, which we like. The room was quiet, and we could not hear neighbors or outside traffic. The shower provided plenty of hot water with no fluctuations. The only ding I have is the ice machine; we stayed on the second floor, and the ice machine is located on the first floor. Not a huge deal, but keep that in mind. We did not use the pool, and we technically didn't get downstairs in time for breakfast. (Although, we got downstairs just after breakfast ended, and there was still plenty of food available.) We'd have no trouble spending another night here again, anytime!

The beds may have been remade after the last guests instead of stripped and changed. None of the ice machines worked. The pool was "closed until further notice due to maintenance issues". Who knows how long they've been closed. Floors could definitely be cleaner. $149 for one night is wild for this level of disappointment. My friend and I were traveling on motorcycles though and needed somewhere to rest on our way back to NY where we live. Not good.

But if you want a quaint Motel, that is clean and where the owner treats you as a friend (the morning guy, not so much), and has overall comfort, then this is the place to lay your head. My room sports a full size bed, recliner, 42 inch flat screen TV, microwave and mini-fridge. While the fridge sits on the floor oh, and the microwave on top, it works well. And that is my main concern. Also, their is Wi-Fi is secured! Woohoo! So far, it's working well for me. A really nice room, at a fantastic price. We will see what the morning brings. I have gotten in the habit of wearing my socks, until I'm ready to get cleaned up. So this morning, when I took my socks off, the carpet was slightly damp. I don't know if this was from a recent cleaning, or due to all the rain and 100% humidity they've been having. When I asked the morning Clerk, his reply was "yeah". Nothing else. Though, when I checked out, he did say, have a nice day. Like the motel, the breakfast is an old fashioned continental breakfast of donuts, and frozen waffles (since I had waffles yesterday I didn't want waffles again today). So, I decided to eat breakfast on the road (I had to wait for 60 miles before something finally showed up that wasn't a big chain joint). So, with the damp carpet and the clerk's attitude, I had to downgrade to 3 Stars. But the lady in housekeeping wrote a very lengthy note to her guests, which was a pleasant surprise.

I like supporting the local people, whether it be restaurants or "motels." This is the first motel in a long time and I'm impressed. I have been up since 3:15 AM so as to catch my flight today and now I'm kicked back in my recliner enjoying the night. I have stayed at places like this our west off Route 66. I'm comfortable here and they offer the amenities of the chains, micro fridge, microwave, clean room, all is good. For those who work out, you can purchase a day pass to the local YMCA, book says $4.00. Not a bad deal. They have a breakfast in the mornings and it's simple but sufficient. It does bring back the old times of a family vacation. Plenty of TV Channels to choose from and close to downtown where some good restaurants are located. All in all good location! Well one more time, I love the recliner. I'm so well rested now.

I was being recruited for a position in a company in the area and I was interviewing/checking out the company/checking out the area. I stayed in a room with a king sized bed. I ultimately took the job. I had to immediately book the hotel again. I therefore stayed here again from Jan 10 2020 for over a month while waiting to first get possession of the home I bought and during the time my floors were getting redone. Stayed in a suite, with two queen beds and a living rook that had a fold out sofa bed. Hard living with two other people in such a small enclosed space. The hotel does offer suites with kitchen, alas they are few and hard to come by. I spent the time in one without one and had to eat out all the time. My stats were pleasant, considering all the above. The hotel breakfast room is large and comfortable. The hotel has an indoor heated pool which is a big plus! The staff also is the friendliest hotel staff I have ever dealt with. I would talk to them all the time. We would ask how we were all doing, where we were in our move. These are genuinely warm people and the best part of staying at this hotel. There are some weaknesses. The breakfast is unappetizing, and I usually avoided it.. even though it was included in my stay. It didn't taste bad... just didn't have taste... it was bland. The coffee is weak. The suites can also definitely be a little larger and they need updating. Some of the furniture seems to have seen much better days. Still, I did enjoy my stay here and was thankful that I was able to find a hotel for such a long stay in such short notice.

There was still the previous guests washcloth slung over the shower curtain, someone else's hair clinging to the shower wall, what appears to be mold on the yellow wallpaper, and the cherry on top of the room disgrace? While I'm absolutely positive the reason for this horrendous room will inevitably be blamed on Covid, it strikes me as odd that I should be charged full price for their lack of staff or care. If you can, roll on to the next town for a place to sleep.
