    stains on bedding

My wife and I would not recommend this property to my worst enemy. Upon check-in, there was a sign stating the management would not rent a room to anyone living in the seven surrounding counties. This should have been our first red flag. We were given room 329 to stay in. Upon arrival to our room, I noticed a draft coming from the window. A window I found to be hanging out of the track. On top of this, the window was unbelievably filthy with what appeared to be black mold and peeling paint. I called and reported this to the front desk. While I waited for a response I noticed the 20-year-old desk chair that looked like it was chewed upon by a wolverine. I continued to look around the room and noticed black stains on the duvet cover along with the lovely bloodstain. This is when I noticed the disgusting headboard with the sex-stained handprints running down the length. You gaze over and find the feces stain on the upholstered chair that continued onto the floor below. As you look up you notice there is no smoke detector in the room. As your gaze continues you find there is no security lock provided on the room door and gaze at the wonderful snot rag sticking out of the peephole. In complete disgust, your head starts to spin and your gaze is directed downward to an unidentified red stain in front of the sink. In a repulsive manner, your gaze travels up to find the grimy clothing rack. This was just inside the room. As you leave your room you find air vents with no covers, security doors that don't automatically close, and electrical outlets with no faceplates. Explain that child's electrocution to the parents. We were then moved to room 101 wherein the toilet was clogged. I tried to report this to the front desk but the phone didn't work. Upon inspection, I found a rat's nest of cords that ran underneath the nightstand and found the phone plug. I plugged the phone in and reported the problem to the front desk and received the response "do you want to come to the desk and pick up a plunger". I quickly responded with "it's not my job to plunge your damn faulty toilets". They did come and rectify this issue. The best part of this whole disgusting property was the sign at the front desk that reserves the right to refuse to rent a room to anyone who may live in the seven adjoining counties. My recommendation is to sleep anywhere other than this claptrap. You would be better off going into the woods and sleeping with the first rabid badger you came across. Run don't walk as fast as you can from this property as God himself won't know what you may catch in this cesspool. In hopes of helping any future traveler falling into this pit of filth, I have reported this to Choice Hotels corporate headquarters, Oak Ridge Fire Dept, Code enforcement, and the health department. With the love of God, somebody should be able to shut this place down.

Not sure I've ever stayed at a hotel to come back to find this scene...and twice. Never once put out the Do Not Disturb sign

We were to attend an event at the Oak Ridge Y-12 facility. On Sep 30, 2025, we booked a 2-night…read morestay at the Hampton Inn by Hilton in Oak Ridge, TN, located at 208 S. Illinois Avenue, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, 37830, for check-in on Oct 31, 2025 and checkout Nov 2, 2025 for a total cost of $488.92. My husband is a Veteran and disabled. That is a lot of money for us. We learned on Oct 21, 2025 that the Oak Ridge event was cancelled due to the federal government shutdown. We immediately called Hampton Inn by Hilton in Oak Ridge, TN to cancel our reservation. The hotel manager told us that there was a 21-day cancellation policy and refused to cancel our reservation because they must comply with Hilton's Corporate Policy. We called Hilton Corporate customer service, who said it wasn't their policy and that they had no ability to cancel the reservation, that the ability to cancel and waive any fees lies SOLELY with the hotel property. The manager Rebecca Fuller continues to lie and say the hotel property cannot cancel and refund, they are in fact the only ones who CAN do it. They just won't. Zero flexibility or exceptions. Their cancellation policy is a scheme they've developed to prey upon guests who've already had some misfortune and need to cancel a reservation, by charging not just a cancellation fee, but keeping the ENTIRE cost of the reservation and then re-renting the room. What a racket. Beware. Neither would the hotel modify the reservation date to a future event in December. Hilton customer service called and spoke with the manager at the hotel, who again refused to cancel the reservation because they are "an NFL hotel," meaning they have an absolute no cancellation within the 21-day window due to NFL games. The closest NFL team is the Titans in Nashville, a 2 hr 42 min (162.3 mi) drive from Oak Ridge to Nissan Stadium. Now the manager claims it is because they are close to the University of Tennessee (the hotel is 25 miles away and not even in the same county) and says that as a Tennessee resident, we know when the Vols have a home game, an ignorant assumption because we do not follow any football and don't live anywhere near UT. We've already been charged for the room. If we cancel the reservation, they keep the money AND can re-rent the room. Since we are paying either way, we are calling local Oak Ridge Veteran's groups to find a homeless veteran who can use the room for that time and get out of the cold. That room had better be available for a homeless veteran, Rebecca Fuller, since we paid for it already. We will never stay at this hotel in the future and urge others, especially Veterans, to do the same. They have predatory policies. If you were in a coma and needed to cancel, they would still keep the ENTIRE cost of the stay and laugh all the way to the bank, not just a cancellation fee like other hotels.

It was hard for them to find bug spray though.. so we were on eggshells for a while. But they were helpful and once we got something to take care of it, it was fine. I hate not having a real closeable bathroom door!!!! I don't like that the restroom door slides and there are still gaps of the door open. I don't know who started that design but it does not work well when you have multiple people sharing a room.

Here are a just a few things I love about this property: -the staff is always friendly and courteous -super clean all around; the lobby, hallways and rooms. Our room is always clean and and the cleaning staff is very personable by leaving nice notes and providing their name -large rooms with multiple outlets, charging stations, multiple hooks in bathroom for hanging toiletry bag, towels, etc -although a bit of a drive from downtown Knoxville, this location has a Cracker Barrel and an Aubrey's within walking distance -night light in bathroom -comfortable bed -good sized closet with plenty of hangers - complimentary treats in the lobby (fresh baked cookies, hot chocolate bar) This hotel is great and highly recommended!

I wouldn't recommend this place at all or ever. All we needed was a place to plug an extension chord to charge our batteries on the boats and after night number one with zero issues this happened on night number two. I was here with my friends from Ohio just in case they want to say I didn't stay here. The employee took it upon himself to unplug the chord and was rolling it up. I guess he was going to put it on the boat but our equipment is isn't cheap and we would rather have unplugged it and took care of the issue.
