We had an excellent stay at the Quality Inn in Rock Springs. Beds & pillows were plush, sheets were soft - I was out as soon as my head hit the pillow. One of the reasons there are no photos w/my review. There was a nice big flat screen tv w/HBO. Fridge & microwave. The AC blew ice cold air all night - a necessity in hot summers. The AC and the bathroom light did occasionally make slight moaning noises, but it passed so quickly it wasn't an issue. Hot breakfast was a treat (lots to choose from) but the coffee was awful. That could just be I'm overly picky about coffee but my husband said "it tastes like swamp water." But he can be a tough customer too. Regardless...it's free. Grab a coffee elsewhere on your way out of town if it's a problem. Only other issue we had is, looking at our bill, I don't believe we received our military discount. If we did, it was minuscule and not noted. Note to smokers: We were able to snag the last 1, of 5, smoking rooms (room #162). In our experience, a smoking room is the bottom of the barrel of motel rooms - like they grab up all the reject rooms and throw an ashtray inside. In most cases, they are either smelly, sticky or something is broken. Not the case at this Quality Inn. Our room was clean & in perfect working order. Bonus: the windows opens which really helps to keep the room free of smoke. Last but not least, the staff was as friendly as can be. Just needed a cheap place to lay our heads for a few hours on our road trip. We booked through Expedia and in the notes I requested connecting rooms. They accommodated the request. Employees were friendly enough. The beds were pretty comfy. The rooms smelt a little funky. Not sure what it was. And the a/c made a bit of gurgling noise. But it worked. The room had a fridge and microwave. Didn't use them so not sure if they worked or not. But they're there. Breakfast was decent. Was nice to have some hot food and not just pastries and cereal. Not sure I would stay for multiple nights but it served its purpose. read more

Reserved this room when traveling through Rock Springs Wyoming. When we arrived late in the evening, the first smell walking into the room was of utter disgust. Since I did an online booking, I was not able to just walk to the front desk to refuse this hideous room. The pool... it's there but the water is not. (And it's outside) when we walked out of our room in the morning there was a pile of blood on the concrete... weird for sure!! There was also a spot where the ground had collapsed in, and it did not look like any of their staff were too concerned about this! This is just a brief description of our experience... Needless to say, we will not be booking at the quality Inn ever again !! Right Price, treated well, my Go To three times a year Review of Quality Inn Pending review I come here three times a year for about two weeks at a time. THIS is my go to place. I've tried other 'Choice' brand hotels in the area and have been a bit disappointed. I am always treated very well throughout my stays, even though they have never greeted me as their highest status member. But they DO always remember me, and work hard to get me the type of room that I request. (smoking). Their breakfast is always well stocked, and clean. Their entire hotel area seems to be well taken care of. Water pressure is always great with plenty of hot water. Beds are not too hard or too soft with several pillows of varying firmness. Heat/cooler is more than adequate for the room. While I rarely need housekeeping during my stay they are respectful of the do not disturb sign and quick to ask if I need service if the door is open and they are passing by, asking if I could use a restock of toilet paper or fresh towels. All rooms allow you to park directly in front of the room, so if you are a biker this is a great thing! Always feel safe, as a single female traveler, the area is ok. Right near the freeway entrance. Only draw back I see on this hotel is that truck drivers park near the drive entrances or alongside the far portion of the building. Kind of makes it difficult when pulling into traffic or walking to the lobby for breakfast. Want to be treated well, welcomed and appreciated as a guest, know that breakfast is always well stocked, and they care about their guests then THIS IS THE PLACE! DO NOT STAY HERE - this place will rip you off in a heartbeat and refuse to help in any way. They overcharged us by THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS and claimed ignorance. They stated they have no record of those charges and there was nothing they could do and that the General Manager was the only one to help but that person was never in and REFUSED to call to resolve the issue. This has taken MONTHS and many infuriating hours of time to try and get THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES refunded. Apparently there is nothing they can do since the room has already been checked out of. They are either intentionally scamming patrons out of money or their employees suffer from gross incompetence and negligence. I have never received such poor customer service especially while trying to recover THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS that never should have been charged. read more

A midnight "desperation" check in turned into a 2 night stay because of the quality of my sleep (due to great pillows, linens, and mattress) and the kindness and generosity of the staff here. Check in was a bit rocky as I had to check in at the desk of the neighboring holiday inn express due to my late and unexpected arrival. Long story short, they gave me a key to a room that was already occupied which led to an awkward situation. Luckily, no guns came out. After all, this is southern Wyoming. When I met the actual quality inn staff the next day and asked for a lower rate to extend my stay since it was no longer midnight/highway robbery time ($98!? On the night of arrival) - I was informed that $25 had already been knocked off my rate due to the check mishap and that they would be glad to give me another night at an even lower rate. When I indicated that I had broken my foot the previous day and needed some help with ice. And that my dog had vomited all over his blankets during the drive from Salt Lake to Rock Springs and I needed the blankets washed, The manager did not bat an eye but put her employees to task to look after me. I received a level of hospitality that one simply does not expect at a sub-3 star hotel. If ever I need to stay in Rock Springs again, I won't hesitate to book at the Quality Inn. read more

We stayed here multiple times over the course of a few weeks due to vehicle repair issues. We would often check out in the morning and then find we needed to stay more nights, so we would check in again. Each time we were in a non-smoking king bed room and each room was slightly different, but similar. The internet worked well, there were always enough plugs, though in a couple rooms we did need to use an extension cord to get everything where we wanted. The air conditioning worked well and was needed even when it got cool outside. If it got cold, and it did snow while we were there, the heat worked. The office staff were great, the persons handling the breakfast were great, and the breakfast was well stocked and met our needs. read more

Our truck broke down and we had to put it in The Freight liner Dealership for repairs there in Rock Springs Wy. They referred us to The Quality Inn for the simple reason they had a shuttle service and would come pick us up. And they are pet friendly which was a must cuz we have a small dog and a cat riding with us. The rooms were clean especially for a pet friendly hotel. and the rate was fair priced. The staff was super friendly when checking in. Also I was very impressed with their free breakfast bar. They had waffles, eggs, sausage, cereals, juice, etc. so I would definitely recommend! read more

This place is terrible, checked in at about 10:30 at night and the lady at the desk was not very pleasant. We got our room and went to it and was greeted by a very unstable door and 5 or 6 flies that I ended up swatting with my hand. $100 for 2 queens. I was told this hotel had a pool. Which was why I choose it. They never opened it. They said between 10-11 am it would open, and 11 was check out and it still never opened. Water level looked way low and was dirty like it hadn't been opened for a while. Surprisingly pleased with our stay! Initial survey of exterior property brought to mind motels one might see in the shadier parts of town associated with rent by the hour stays (or so I've been told). A closer gander soon dispels this as one notes the cleanliness of the grounds, a functioning sprinkler system surrounded by lush green grass, a renovated office, and absence of malingering characters of ill-repute. The room itself featured front door parking allowing quick efficient transfer of belongings from vehicle to room and for the more anxious patron the opportunity to closely monitor the safety and security of said vehicle throughout stay. A walk about the room reveals a clean cushioned carpet through out living spaces, an in-wall AC/heating unit with controls shockingly delegated to the guest (guessing this was a management oversight), clean bedding adorning a bed of passing comfort, and despite a 30 minute inspection of mattress and bedding utilizing both magnifying glass and black lighting my slightly obsessive wife was unable to identify any bed bugs or other nefarious creatures. The bathroom features a shower/tub combo with endless supply of hot water and a water pressure that threatened the integrity of my thinning hair and cleanliness of nether regions I'd forgotten I had. Bathroom also featured an amber colored heat lamp providing both ambiance and a comfortable exit from water to dry land. In the interest of honest disclosure I must confess that while the toilet exhibited excellent flushing power and wasted a glorious amount of water it's proximity to the floor left this guest with knees near chin level and having to use nearby hand holds to end my rear's occupancy of the toilet when my business had ended. Should guest be short or male with a short stay and toileting needs that do not rise higher than the number 1 this should not pose a problem. Breakfast was complimentary with both cold and hot options of some variety. Staff were friendly and despite a breakfast attendant with penchant for talking to self (at least hope so-be quite chagrined if was attempting conversation with me) were a pleasure to interact with. All in all a pleasant stay I'd be happy to repeat! read more

Should be called not-so-much quality at this inn. The bad things - 1) Unfriendly counter-staff. 2) Horrible air-conditioning which did not work and lead to a very sweaty night. The staff knows of this air conditioning issue, which seems to be a problem for all the rooms, and they warn you not to turn up the levels above a 7 when you check in. But the level 7 cooling recommended was insufficient to keep up with the summer heat. At a 7, the a/c shut off and it got so hot that in the night we opened the old windows for relief. And then it was only less hot, not cool. 3) DIRTY, DIRTY outdoor pool. We put on suits and trotted over to the pool for a good outdoor swim. But when we saw the pool, I would not let my child nor myself swim in it. It had a lot of floating grass, leaves, dirt. The whole surface of the pool was covered with little islands of debris. It needed servicing very badly. 4) Bathroom was only moderately clean. Behind the door along the edge of the flooring there was dirt or dark areas; the pull stop for a bath did not work. When I did open the windows for air, the locking mechanism on one of them fell off. 5) Beds were a bit saggy [but linens were ok]. 6) Price was pretty high. The base rate was $99 for two queen beds, single night, for late June, week night. With taxes and pet deposit, it was around $120. That $120 was the same base rate for better properties in the area. The good things - - they allowed pets for a $10 charge - which is very reasonable - and which is the only reason we chose here as opposed to the much nicer Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express located across the street and next door but who do not accept pets and/or did not have pets rooms available. - the location was near the freeway and had easy access. - there was wireless internet which worked fine in the room. - there was a fridge and a microwave in the room - for those who like it, there was free beer during happy hour from 5-7- pm in the lobby. read more

This hotel is okay but there are some major problem, manly with the water. The problem is the heat of the water because I can't get it to be cold no matter what I do. Another thing that made me not like this hotel is the air conditioner because my Grandma and to blow dry ice off of it so it would actually get cold in here cause it was 90 degrees outside. Oh and the light on the side of the bed doesn't work. There was also a spider in our sink and our tub was discolored (green and yellow). It pains me a little to give this place just two stars. I stay within the Choice Hotels family mostly, and am usually pretty satisfied with Quality Inns. There were a few really nice things about this location, and the price was maybe $30-40 cheaper than the Holiday Inn Express next door, but ultimately the question is: would I want to spend another night in that room? The answer is a firm no. First the nice things: The counter staff were friendly and available to help. The lobby and breakfast areas were both clean and seemed newer and fresh. Breakfast was on par with similarly priced hotels and yes, two perfectly working waffle irons for that early morning carb load. There is a spacious patio outside the breakfast area, and I think they have happy hour with free beer. They are pet friendly and the grounds are well maintained. Finally, I really love having a hotel with parking right outside the rooms. Nothing beats backing right up to your room door and only having to transfer luggage a few feet instead of across a huge hotel. The room itself was a deal-breaker unfortunately. The first thing we noticed was the smell; industrial strength cleaner used to simply overpower a lingering foulness. The air was thick enough to cut with a butterknife. There was also a rotting food odor around the mini-fridge, though the inside of the fridge itself was clean so something probably got trapped in an inaccessible place and has gone unnoticed while nature works its malodorous processes upon it. The lights also didn't work, and neither did the outlets. It was just a matter of a tripped circuit breaker, but when you get to your hotel room you just want to crash, not make a trip back to the front desk then wait around for basic services to be restored. The beds and bedding were recently upgraded so were fine. However, the rest of the room was badly in need of maintainance and deep cleaning. Drop ceiling tiles were stained and bowing down. The AC was a small window unit mounted to the wall, unable to keep the room cool. It was also clogged with filth and couldn't be turned past 7 apparently because it would ruin the whole system. Carpet was old, worn and stained. Walls were dirty, bathroom walls had smears that I am choosing to tell myself were comprised of dirt and not feces. Caulking around the bathtub was browned and cracked. Basically, anything in the room that would require actual maintainance seems to have been ignored for a decade or more. I see that management (Tricia) responds to a lot of Yelp reviews and I appreciate that. If you respond to this, please let people know what specifically you're doing or plan to do to address the maintainance and cleanliness issues in your rooms, not just a generic "sorry you didn't like the room but please try us again." I really would stay here again if the rooms got a remodel and/or a serious round of maintainance and deep cleaning; there were a lot of good things about the hotel that are dragged down by the room. read more

Considering the low price and good quality, I'd say this is one of the BEST value lodging experiences I've had. Standards seem to be extraordinarily high with this establishment, even when compared to similar motels with the same branding. Everything worked perfectly in our room and was very clean. It was a little dated (I'd describe our room as sleek & ultramodern for 2004) but somehow pretty stylish, and I kind of loved that for something different! There was a cute chair and ottoman in our King room that I actually used. Despite poor internet connectivity all over this part of Wyoming, the wifi here worked impeccably for my husband and me. The rooms near us were full and still our stay was quiet. Breakfast here was a pleasant surprise as well, actually setting the bar too high for a Quality Inn we stayed in the next night in another town. read more

When I checked in I had just ridden my motorcycle from South Dakota so as you can imagine I was very tired and all I wanted was the hot tub! When I walked in I was greeted by the welcoming sent of cookies! Corey stepped up to the counter and greeted me and my friend Tina with a warm smile! Check in was a breeze and he made sure to fill us in on all the unusual treats available to his guests! Fresh movie style popcorn was going to be made and there was happy hour yet to come! Our room was close to the spa. We parked our motorcycles right in front of our room! Cris , the other worker and Corey really appear to have a good time at work. They operate like a good team. The room is clean and up to date. Wifi is good. Walking distance to restaurants. Eat in breakfast is very comfortable like your own house! And best part-BOOT BARN is across the street! Downfalls...pool and hot tub are in different locations on the property but that's not a deal maker when you got Corey. read more

The windows don't lock, the floor is dirty, at least the sheets are clean. The second room that we stayed in( not by choice, we already paid for it in advance) was an "updated" room, not by much but at least there wasn't blood that you could see. So check out was 11am and it was about 9am and I had the DO NOT DISTURB sign on my door, and the people there can't read I think. The cleaner knocked and when I answered, he was walking away, and asked "when are you leaving?" Umm whenever the hell I want is what I wanted to say. I told him when checkout is. Duh? THEN. I had a lady try to open my door with the sign still up! Wth right? Told Tricia the manager and she didn't care. She was more upset that whatever website we booked through didn't tell her we had dogs. Not my fault that they didn't tell you. My dogs didn't tear anything up, didn't ruin anything. OH!! And if you stay more than one night there's complimentary drinks 5-7pm. Where allllllll the construction people come out to, with their super aggressive dogs not on a leash. Typical hotel in my opinion. Well located so you can walk to a variety of different restaurants. The room was very clean and well stocked. Our room had a fridge so we could put all of our food in it so that was nice. Well priced for what it was. At first this is just like any other hotel. Not that great of anything, but it'll do after 13 hours of driving. Then you can hear every single burp, fart and complaint of your neighbor through the double door (bolted) connecting your rooms. Then the housekeeping lady starts pounding on your door yelling house keeping and won't stop no matter how many times you tell, it's early, I'm still sleeping! Then the breakfast is the usual garbage except the waffle maker doesn't work, the hot water isn't hot enough to make your oatmeal and there's no microwave to fix it. But the staff were super nice! Unfortunately I only slept a few good hours and have another 13 hour drive ahead. Go team. read more

We spent one night there and were very pleased. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the room was impressively clean. There were plenty of outlets for our electronics. Couldn't believe that the hot breakfast included mini omelettes and bacon. We didn't expect that in a such a moderately priced motel. Check in was pleasant and efficient. We understand there are complementary drinks during Happy Hour, but we got there to late to participate. The only negative: the WiFi was painfully slow and kept disconnecting. This was the 2nd Comfort Inn we stayed in on a recent vacation, and it was excellent like the first one. The hotel was full, so they upgraded us from a 2-double bed room at $109 into a 2-queen suite. It had a nice sofa, desk with executive swivel chair, mini fridge, microwave oven - and a wetbar. Also a Tempurpedic mattress like the other one we'd stayed in. Turns out this is a chain-wide feature. Comfort Inn's now our first choice when we roll into a town. read more
