Even though it's a continental breakfast, they did not have a ton of options which was disappointing. Based on what I saw, there were prepackaged muffins, quick oatmeal packets, waffle maker, toasted bread, biscuit and gravy, donuts, coffee. No eggs, bacon, sausage, or fruits. 2. EVERYTHING NEEDS UPDATING DESPERATELY: Immediately upon entering the building and while standing in the lobby area, I can honestly say everything looks super old and out dated. And then upon entering our room, we were just sad. lol. The curtains, walls, floors, bed sheets, etc etc. everything needs to be updated so it feels fresh and cleaner. Everything just looks so dark and old. 3. BATHROOM: The floors were a bit sticky which wasn't pleasant if walking barefoot. We are thankful that they provided signs in the bathroom on how to use the shower, set preferred temperature, and adjust the shower head. But man, the toilet seat was sooooooo low and the bathroom counter was super low too! My 3 year old can sit on the toilet without help of she wanted to and she's 3 foot tall so that's concerning. Almost hurts our backs having to hunch over that far down just to wash our faces because of how low the counters are. 4. NO SWIMMING POOL: we saw a reviewer leave a picture on their review showing a swimming pool but turns out, this hotel doesn't have a swimming pool. They never had one! So in aiming the reviewer put their review for the wrong hotel. Sadly, we should've done our research a bit more to confirm a pool but man, we were bummed. 5. SAFETY: This location definitely made us question our safety so we will not be coming here ever again nor will we book any Super 8 hotels ever again. PERIOD. Please look elsewhere. Only reason why we selected this one was because it was near a wedding that we were attending. It was convenient in terms of distance. But we will be more than happy to pay more for a better stay for sure.

I spent 2 weeks at another hotel that was horrible. I moved to the Light House Inn and was very happy I did. They have weekly rates available which worked well for me. They were also very considerate to my sleep schedule with housekeeping and maintenance. They were also willing to work with me on payments when I was having an issue with the bank. I also had several packages delivered and they would be placed inside my room when I returned from work. They also have 2 kitchenette units that are well worth the extra cost for extended stays. The owners treat you like family and if I am ever in the area again I will be staying here.

Staying here for a family function in nearby Alta. Not much to do in the area. Pluses include friendly staff, an indoor pool, free continental breakfast, and a Walmart across the street. The room we are staying in has 2 queen beds. Worn out carpeting, musty smell, pillows that are yellow and/or stained under the pillow cases. Yuck! On the bright side, it has an in room fridge and microwave. Shower and sink areas are nice. We stopped by King's Pointe Resort to have lunch while driving around Storm Lake. It's beautiful and clean in there. Had I known, I would've booked a room there instead!

We were pleasantly pleased and impressed! Dreamy Victorian/country decor and design. It's spacious and has a neat history! -Interesting use of closets to create bathrooms too! Lynne made us feel at home. She welcomed us at the door upon arrival, gave us a tour, we visited a little, then she gave us our privacy to enjoy. We had a loosely-planned schedule that took us to Ida Grove for wine tasting, a terrific meal, sight seeing and some hiking.  In the evening, we made a point to spend time on the porch at the B&B to sip some wine in some pleasant June weather. It was relaxing! Lynne, knowing these plans from our conversation upon arrival, was so thoughtful and left out two wine glasses along with a corkscrew to open our bottle of wine that evening. Breakfast on Sunday morning was delicious and delightful at a table next to paned windows overlooking the side yard.  We couldn't have been happier! We now have an amazing memory that we will share and tell for years to come! We think the price was very affordable! In fact, we plan to come back in the fall. From the moment we arrived, the service was beyond hospitable. The temperature was -19. We went to the room and the heater was working so hard it was screaming! We asked for a different room because we knew we could not sleep with the noise. The night clerk immediately switched us. Although the heater in the new room was not quite as noisy, it was still pretty bad. The next morning, we asked to be moved once again. Brent said he would go into every room to find one that was quiet. He found one. The day and night were still bitterly cold, but the heater was quiet. Two days later, we wanted to have a family gathering since we had not seen all the siblings for several months. We asked for recommendations of nearby places that we could get about 25 people together for lunch and visiting. Again, the Boulders staff came to the rescue. Once the breakfast area was cleaned, they said we could use that area and the beautiful lobby area to gather our family. It was extraordinary. I cannot give the ratings they deserve! You will not stay at a better place as far as friendly people and people who are willing to do almost anything to make your stay the best.

The entrance to the room was direct to outside where we conveniently parked on street right in front of the room. It was a little confusing when we got there because the sign to the place is where the rooms are,but the innkeepers live across the street which is where you check in. I wish this place served breakfast because in a Sunday morning in lake city there is literally no where to eat. The one breakfast joint is closed on Sunday, which we didn't know.
