I called to schedule a rekey appointment in couple of days before my tenants move out, was told by the lady who answered the phone it would be ok to cancel if needed. On July 29 at 3 pm, my tenant informed me they had to push out their moving out day. I called Quality Locksmith at 3:17 pm, more than 2 hours before my scheduled 5:30 pm appointment, to cancel my rekey appointment. A man who answered the company's main number disconnect the phone before I could confirm the cancellation. Thinking it might have be a bad connection, I called back at 3:20 pm, the same man answered the phone and said, "You just cancelled, fuck off, go away, I am busy!" Then hung up! WTF! 5 Seconds... Was the span of time between the car door slamming, the realization that I had left my keys in the car, to the sliver of hope I had as I frantically checked my pockets, and to my despair as i see them swaying ever so slightly, dangling from the ignition. I was locked out of my car. See, on any given day, I would be thinking to myself. "What would MacGyver do? If all I had was dental floss, an old dry cleaning receipt, and pocket lint. How could i get this door open?" However, today was not any given day. I was with four of my friends on the way to a backpacking trip. We had just parked to the side of a gas station, replenishing our stash of beef jerky and Ho Hos as the door slammed shut. I could just feel everyone's eyes on the back of my head, the warm feeling of scorn as we are now stuck in a random city. I ended up perusing through Yelp to see if there were any locksmiths close by. I made several inquiries to various places on pricing for a lockout. The result was that everyone wanting to charge an exorbitant amount or could not make it in a timely manner. I finally got a hold of Quality Locksmith and spoke to a technician named Huy. He was very helpful and explained how much it would cost to open up the car and was available within the next 30 minutes to an hour. I'm staying at my sister's place in Antioch and we needed to have our locks re-keyed so the previous tenant couldn't have access to her home anymore. We called around and one locksmith was going to charge $15 for a service call. It seemed like a good idea at first cuz it's a pretty cheap estimate but then the guy wouldn't give us a final estimate even after giving him details about how many locks we needed to get fixed, etc. That got us a little worried so we called around. We found Quality Locksmith through Google and gave them a call. The lady who answered the phone was very pleasant and gave us a final estimate as to how much it would cost. The service call was more than $15 but they seemed a lot more legit than the other guys and the cost was straight forward. The locksmith showed up on time. He was really nice and completed the re-key of the entire house in no time. He even gave us free keys! We're happy we decided to go with Quality Locksmith and not the other company because we actually read a couple of their reviews and turns out they tell you $15 but when they get there, they charge a ton since you're already committed to them.
