The long weekend is the absolute worst time to need a boat mechanic. We just launched and realized our impeller burned out. I'm so glad my husband paid attention to all the warning signs and let the engine cool down before we pulled off the water. Even though this meant sitting at the doc for 45 minutes. We called a couple of places that were suggested by the local marina and they were all book or closing soon. I turned to my favorite source and YELP'D it! Woohoo.. Quality Marine popped with up and with four solid stars I couldn't deny fate! I called them up and Gary was so helpful. He couldn't guarantee they would get to it that same day but they did offer an appointment. We took our boat in and Gary found the part and had it done the same day. I had some issues with a bad fuel pump. They were so helpful with diagnosing the problem and knowledge of the root f the cause. While going through the checklist of issues, I continued to call back and spoke with different service and parts professionals. We had a problem with the trim gage on our boat... it wasn't working along with a leaky gear loop hose.... so My husband Dan, called Quality Marine, Ed answered, Dan explained the issues... assuming he'd give him a quote $ (which he did) and schedule for him to bring the boat in. However in the midst of their conversation Ed -instead explained to my husband how to diagnose & locate the problems. Then he step by step explained how to fix them. My husband is mechanical so with Ed's advice he was able to fix both issues himself which SAVED us $650!!!! We were so thankful for the honest & EXTREMELY helpful service that Ed and Quality Marine provided for us that day. They have ABSOLUTELY won us as future customers. Last January 2023 I brought my boat in for service. it's unfortunate. I waited almost a year to post this review but people need to know that Quality Marine is no longer the business it once was. Generally, my basic yearly boat service generally ran me around $560 give or take some change. After dropping my boat off I didn't ask what the charge was would be thinking it would always be the same or around that amount. When picking up the boat my invoice was $895. I was completely shocked at this amount and questioned a young gentleman who I did not get his name but later found out he's the owner. I was told due to inflation that the rate was this amount. I went back-and-forth with his gentleman and he finally relented and said he'll take $100 off the invoice. I agreed with frustration and feeling like I just been ripped off. I asked if Ed or Gary were present or if I could speak with them and was told that the business was bought out and they were no longer working there. This explained everything I thought to myself. It only gets better from here (being sarcastic). I get home was prepping the boat to take it out the following day. As with any boater, I started the engine to make sure everything was OK and shut it off after a few seconds. I noticed my gas gauge was below empty. When I dropped my boat off it was at a quarter tank. My boat is parked in a secured RV garage adjacent to my residence. and there was no doubt in my mind that the fuel was siphoned while being serviced at Quality Marine. It only gets worse from here. Out of curiosity, I pulled the oil stick out and I noticed the oil was not a lighter tan color, which it is normally after being serviced. It was obvious to me the oil was not changed. Later in the afternoon, I launched the boat and as I was getting up the speed outside of Windsor Beach the engine started sputtering and soon stopped running. I cranked the engine over it would run for a second or two before sputtering dead. Soon after It wouldn't start. I opened the engine hatch to inspect the engine. I immediately smelt a strong odor of gasoline. I determined the fuel filter was loose and fuel was spilling over the top due to it not being properly seated or tightened firmly. I hand tightened the fuel filter and cranked over the engine, and eventually started after about 10 to 15 seconds. Now I was absolutely pissed off with the problems associated with my service. I called Quality Marine and spoke to an older gentleman who did not provide his name. I told him of my experience after having my boat serviced and what I received in return was just the icing on the cake. No apologies or how can we make this right for you, etc. The gentleman told me he would look up the mechanics name and advise him of what occurred. So basically, he just kissed the whole incident off and made excuses or minimized how it didn't happen and the mechanics they hire there are highly qualified. Buyer beware stay as far as this place as you can. It's sad the new owners don't measure up to the standards of the previous ones. read more

Quality Marine is the only shop that has ever and will ever work on my boat. They are the best and most honest folks you will ever find! This weekend we noticed that a part had broken off of our boat. It was a Sunday and no shops were open. We played it safe and left the boat out of the water and took it to Quality Marine Monday morning. They took a look at the boat and told us that the part was completely unnecessary. They said that they could replace it for us if we wanted to, but it really wouldn't be money well spent. This is not the first time that they have guided us away from work that they could have done to collect our $$. The first year they helped me over the phone and solved my problem -- I was low on gear lube fluid -- most places would, in hearing a woman's voice, say you better bring it on! Nope not these guys! Thanks to Danny for turning me on to Gary at Quality Marine. I have a Volvo DPS-A drive and not everyone can work on these things. Gary and Ed truly are a wealth of knowledge and experience. The shop is as close as you can get to Windsor Beach and Lake Havasu. The place is very clean, neat, and organized (not often the case in the marine industry). They did exactly what they said for a reasonable price and finished right on time. You can't ask for more than that. While working on the boat they charged the batteries, services the trailer, performed safety checks, etc. all at no additional cost. Something else notable: The boat was a clean as when I dropped it off. So many mechanics leave their mark on the boat if you know what I mean. Great attention to detail. Well I can't say enough about Ed and Gary at Quality Marine. They helped me troubleshoot over the phone over 4-5 separate phone calls on some engine trouble I was having. After giving their time and knowledge they figured out the problem and that it was a $10 part I could but from any auto store. Finally after the "real master mechanic" fixed all of the not quality work of this place. Our boat is properly repaired. Not by quality marine. We had the shift cables and fuel level sensor replaced plus normal maintenance. The shift cables were not installed properly and even after an additional adjustment we still did not have forward. We were informed that the CONE needed replaced on our mercruiser motor at a cost in excess of $3000. We talked to the owner and mechanic and were told that the boat needed further repairs. This was completely false once the cables were rerouted and properly adjusted the boat shifted perfectly. We discovered that the fuel level sensor was installed backwards. Who knows what else was repaired or replaced incorrectly!!! This place is a joke. Buyer beware your repairs may not be what you are being told. They may look good and professional but obviously they are either purposely making mistakes so that much more expensive repairs need made or they have no idea how to do the repairs correctly. I have been going to Quality Marine for 15 yrs or longer for my servicing needs. Gary and Ed were the most honest down to earth people I know and I always looked forward to doing business with them. However, this Spring I stopped in to see them and set up a date for servicing of my 2 boats. Gary or Ed were not there and a real young guy was behind the counter. I asked him where Gary and Ed were. He told me that they were on vacation. When I pressed him on when they would be back he told me, " They sold the business to me' and stop in once in a while to help me out. This little lie told me a lot and I got a bad feeling about doing business here if this guy could not be up front with me and tell me he was now the owner. Now that I've read reviews, it looks like I was right, and sorry it was sold to a guy who looks like he still lives at home with his mom.. I wish Ed and Gary would have sent out a letter saying they were selling business, they were great. Not to sure the mechanics working on your boat are going to listen to their new owner. Great service and people. Been fighting an overheat problem for 2 years. Quality Marine was highly recommended by a friend so took it there. The guys in the shop figured out the problem within hours. The manual says to remove the engine to replace the outdrive water hose but they busted tail to replace it without the cost of removing the engine. I am sure there was a lot of cussing and scratches as it is a real pain to access it but they did it anyway. Can not thank them enough. Obviously high marks across the board. read more

So we've been coming to Havasu for a year. Never been up river. First trip this year my wife decides we're going up river. So being the awesome husband I am (sarcasm doesnt translate via the written word by the way) I boldy go where this man had never been before... yeah there's sand bars up river. That was an important piece of information. Anyway, long story short, after bogging out on a sand bar I start to have problems. Limp it back to the boat launch and do the walk of shame across the street to Quality Marine. Talked with Gary for a while and after deciding he needs to do some diag I was pleasantly surprised to find out he had no back log. He tells me he can look at it on Tuesday. Since we are weekenders from PHX we have our boat and trailer parked at Campbell Cove. He says he can just pick the boat up from there, fix it, and return it when complete. This is unheard of service in my neck of the woods. I'm used to boat guys getting to it when they get to it. Bottom line was that he had the boat picked up, fixed, and returned to my camp site before lunch on Tuesday! Mind blown. I've officially found my new boat guy!
