Hilton Garden Inn Pineville -- One-Night Stay Review**…read more I stayed one night at the Hilton Garden Inn in Pineville, North Carolina, and overall it was a very solid experience with standout customer service. Check-in started at the front desk because my mobile key wasn't ready in the app. The front desk staff were superb--friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. They clearly explained all amenities, breakfast and dinner hours, and the bar area. When you're traveling, that kind of information and clarity really matters, and it was much appreciated. The room layout is practical and well thought out. When you enter, the closet is on the right and the bathroom on the left. There's a compact kitchenette-style cabinet with a refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker, microwave, and ice bucket. One note: the in-room creamers are all artificial, so if you prefer real cream, it's best to bring your own or grab some downstairs before heading up. The room includes a chest of drawers with the TV on top, a proper work desk with a lamp, and an ergonomic desk chair made of molded plastic rather than peeling pleather--a smart design choice that other hotels should copy. Lighting is good overall, with a lamp in the corner, a lamp between the two beds, and a light at the entry door. Power access is excellent. Two lamps (the desk lamp and the bedside lamp) include AC outlets, and the bedside lamp also has USB ports. There are two additional power outlets above the desk, along with an alarm clock and telephone. The room also features a full-length mirror, luggage rack, iron and ironing board in the closet, and a hair dryer in the bathroom. Cleanliness throughout the room was excellent. There is ongoing remodeling upstairs. While this is a positive long-term improvement, I would personally choose a room one floor down next time to create a buffer from construction noise. That said, the hotel clearly posts construction notices on their website and elsewhere, so guests are informed in advance and can request room placement accordingly. Checkout was just as positive as check-in. The front desk associate was very friendly while they were wrapping up breakfast service. I hadn't eaten at the hotel, but I asked if I could run my items to the car and come back in with my travel mug for coffee. She said that was no problem. When I returned and found the coffee carafe empty, she immediately noticed, went to another area, and personally filled my cup--no request needed. That level of attentiveness is excellent hospitality. Overall, this was a clean, comfortable stay with genuinely strong customer service from start to finish.

While the staff are friendly enough, the hotel did not notify us of the very heavy, loud…read morerenovations going on right underneath our room. We have had absolutely no peace in our room during the day, and for the price that is completely unacceptable. We can't hear the TV, we can't come back to take a nap, we can even hear people knock at the door. And they have to charge you 16 dollars for breakfast. Not picking an HGI again.

I was here for a Yelp event at Postino, but I showed up early enough that I had time to wander, and…read morehonestly I'm glad I did because this whole area is far more impressive than I realized. Ballantyne has been developing at a pace I clearly haven't kept up with, and suddenly there's this whole little district with a mix of restaurants, an outdoor amphitheater, a big open grass lawn where people can sprawl out or toss a ball, a playground tucked off to the side, and that general sense of activity that makes a place feel like it's actually being used and enjoyed rather than just built for show. Since I still had time before the Postino event kicked off, I walked down to Olde Mecklenburg for a beer. It was a bit too cool to sit outside in their beer garden, which is usually the move, so I settled inside and it was exactly the kind of comfortable, familiar brewery vibe that makes you want to linger for a second round even when you know you shouldn't. Parking is three hours free, which is generous for a place this busy, but you do have to register your car. If you stay longer they'll charge you, and if you don't register at all they'll be less than thrilled, so it's worth taking the extra minute to do it right. The whole setup makes it easy to spend an afternoon here without feeling rushed, which is probably why I ended up enjoying the pre‑event time just as much as the event itself. I went on a Monday morning when the businesses were just opening so had no prob finding parking. However I can imagine on wkends or special events it can get insanely congested. There are a few spots on the street for free but good luck snagging one of those. There is plenty of parking that's 3hrs for free so that does help. Since I went early in the wk I didn't even use up 3 full hrs of parking, but just be mindful of busier times, that 3hrs can go by quick.

The rooms were very nice. The bathroom and shower were also nice. I didn't like the bed. It was very uncomfortable. Also the A/C wouldn't adjust correctly no matter what temperature you set it on. If I set it on 80 degrees the A/C would still be blowing freezing cold. I just ended up turning it off and we were fine. The next day it was fixed. The Continental Breakfast in the morning was good. The seating area for breakfast was nice with plenty of room. We were traveling with a large motor coach bus that was 38'. Even though this location parking lot is small I did have enough room to enter the parking area and drive around the back and then to the front and park for the night with the bus. I definitely love staying at Sheraton Hotels!

The hotel wasn't bad! The lady was fantastic at the front desk and the lobby and rooms look nice. It was clean except for some water damage. What I don't like about this room is that they didn't have any fans in the bathroom, nor were we able to keep the fan going for the air conditioning. I like to have that white noise anytime I'm in a hotel because it drowns out the sounds. I've noticed this is a problem with lots of hotels these days. Location-wise it's actually in a good spot. There's a fantastic trail right across the street where you can bike or walk along the marsh and river. It was quite busy when we chose to walk it. It's almost walkable to the mall from there. There are lots of restaurants in the area too. I would stay there again .
