Luckily, my mom was already a customer at Southern Roots and recommended them. For the first time in months, I LOVE my hair again. Many hairdressers can give you a great color and cut, but Corina goes multiple extra miles. She asked tons of questions about my routine and lifestyle, and is continuously working with me to fix my hair issues for good. She's incredibly knowledgeable and super easy-going. The staff are all an absolute pleasure to be around, and the place itself is like a little cottage; very cozy and homey. Prices were reasonable considering what the norm is these days. I knew I wasn't going to find my previous price anywhere, but at least I found the talent and enjoyable time! No matter how many times I complained and went back to have it fixed, she made it worse. This was about the time I decided to find another salon when Sara called me and informed me Cheyenne quit. Sara was my second stylist, and what a big mistake that was. I brought in pictures and clearly and concisely made her aware that I was originally a red head. She would have to be extremely careful with base colors as being an original red head, my hair pulls red, and the base colors will have a glowing brassy tone if not addressed properly. (As a side note: I am older, and my hair has become white and grey, and I'm dying it at home a medium blonde color.) Sara did not listen to me at all. After she washed my hair, it was bright orange. She informed me it was the bad lighting in the salon. My hair was supposed to be a blonde color, not orange. How can bad lighting make your hair look orange? Cope out excuse!!! After she dried my hair, my roots and around my face were a glowing orange brassy color. Let me state clearly that the lighting in the salon is not bad it is horrific. After going outside my base color and all around, my face was an extremely bright glowing orange brassy color. Obnoxious!!! Later that day, when my two brothers saw my hair, and their comment was; "WTF." My brothers both worn me as did my friends that going to a stylist would be a mistake and they liked the medium blonde color I was dying my hair. They stated my hair had beautiful definition with lowlights and highlights. I found out the hard way and expensive way they were all more than accurate!!! When I washed my hair at home, it was a bronze color when it was wet. What an utter disaster! I used two different shampoos and one additional product to strip the orange brassy color out of my hair. I spent over $300 for a complete "F UP." I can dye my hair at home for $11. Bottomline, what was most upsetting to me was that Sara promoted herself as a qualified and knowledgeable stylist with years of experience and even her apprenticeship to become a stylist. She told me I could trust her - that in itself was a huge mistake!!! Needless to say, her carefree and less than concerning attitude over the disasterous color of my hair was very upsetting and spoke volumes about her as a stylist. This is why I absolutely would "not" recommend J. Miles Salon.

She was afraid to tone it, leaving me w bright yellow roots. I was in complete shock. I felt like I was in a horror movie. She apologized + stated it has never happened before + that she didn't know what went wrong. The other stylist told me, "it's not that bad + it could be worse." Like taking my hair from past my bra to my scalp was no big deallll. I wanted to scream. She over lapped or over processed my hair frying the center crown of my head, the part a Jewish person would wear a hat on, completely off. Leaving me w about an inch of hair. I texted her after my first wash + told her more hair had fallen out + the extensions she offered to buy me l, would do nothing because I have no hair to blend it with. We made an appointment for her to try to atempt to style it + dye it darker so my roots wouldn't look insane. She then later canceled my apt stating "I'm uncomfortable performing anymore services on you and having any further damage placed on my hands. Thank you and have a good night." Like excuse me? NO. You fried my hair off + now you aren't even willing to attempt to fix it? I was completely dumbfounded at how poorly the stylist, as well as the salon handled this. I should be given free cuts + treatments till my hair has grown back. I shouldn't of had to pay another stylist $55 for a hair cut that I should have never needed. I shouldn't haven't had to cover every mirror in my house because it literally made me sick to my stomach at the sight of myself. I've gotten in trouble at work for being late multiple times just trying to get the baby hairs to lay down + not cry in the process of doing so. These past few weeks have been v hard for me emotionally because of this stylist. Every hair compliment, makes me wana cry. I still don't know what to say when I receive them or how to respond when someone it like, you cut your hair?! Knowing how much I loved it + tha fact I would never cut it. Oddly I don't even feel like a woman wo long hair. I don't feel like the goddess I know I am + it's horrible someone can do this without any repercussions. The owner of the salon still hasn't reached out to me + it's been two weeks.
