I've never felt pressure to have extra procedures which I have experienced at other dental offices. Recently I took my 4 year old here when we noticed something on his gum that looked like a bump. I can not say enough wonderful things about the staff and how well they treated my son. That bump was more serious than we initially thought and he needed his front tooth extracted. Everyone treated him like a king and he never even cried. Afterwords he was treated to a goodie bag full of stickers and was given 2 tokens to the vending machine up front. This could have been such an awful experience for my son but fortunately the staff here took the extra time to keep him comfortable. They used laughing gas and numbing gel and after that he never left the shot of local. I am so thankful for this dental office and their wonderful staff. I was assured this would not be a problem since I would provide recent records. Despite this, I was given bitewing X-rays and an iTero scan before the dentist even performed an exam. There were no complaints, no visible issues, and no discussion other than insisting they were necessary even though additional imaging was not medically necessary. If the dentist had genuine concerns, the appropriate course would have been to examine me first, then either explain the findings, ask permission, or consult my treating physician. Instead, they exposed me to unnecessary radiation against medical advice. My Wife's Appointment For her, she requested only the bitewings and full-mouth X-rays that our insurance covers. Instead, she was pressured into a panoramic X-ray because the dentist insisted it was "better," even though panos are not the standard tool for detecting cavities. Again, this was performed before any exam, along with an iTero scan, even though she specifically stated she was not interested in braces and have perfectly straight teeth. After completing the exam, I was unexpectedly asked to return 20 minutes later for my cleaning, something that felt inconsiderate of my time, especially given the office name, "It's Your Time Dental." Overall Concerns Both of our visits followed the same pattern: diagnostic imaging and scanning were performed first, without clinical justification, and without respecting our patient preferences or medical history. This approach felt more focused on billing for equipment and procedures than on patient-centered care. Dental care should prioritize safety, communication, and individualized treatment and not unnecessary radiation exposure, pressure tactics, or questionable billing practices. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. I was even charged a $60+ copay despite my insistence we did not have dental copays for cleanings.

All she kept telling me was that she's been doing this for seven years and nobody has ever paid on that code instead of getting on the phone with my insurance company and verifying it. I've been a long time patient of Queen Creek Smiles and I love Dr. Jolley. But I will not allow somebody to speak to me in the manner in which she spoke to me. She was very condescending. Charges for JUST a ROUTINE CLEANING AND X-RAY: $1,896.00 CAVITY & CROWN: $2,806.00 Total Quoted: $4,702.00 Reporting this practice to the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners STAT. I had scheduled a routine 6 month cleaning with this dentist office and immediately felt scammed and that my pockets were being picked from the second I walked through the front door. I had been a previous customer with them a couple years back and had no issues. I had been seeing another dental office prior to returning this this one, which will be the last time. I have always only needed a routine cleaning and have maintained excellent dental health and my last dental cleaning with x-rays was 6 months prior with NO issues reported. Day of appointment: Immediately upon arrival I was pressured to purchase their in-house dental discount plan. I was told that a routine cleaning costs approximately $450. I was initially SHOCKED as I never had a routine cleaning with x-rays cost that in my life. I asked for itemization of the cost, the receptionist kept referring back to the in-house dental plan and that if I purchased it the cost wouldn't be so high. I had to redirect the receptionist more than once that I wanted to know what the cost was broken down before I consider purchasing any dental plan or receiving any services. She then agreed that I could see the Dental Hygienist for an assessment prior to determining any cost. X-Rays: I was brought back to have x-rays completed. I just had X-rays completed 2 months prior at this office and reminded the lady taking them of this. She looked in my chart and told me the Dr ordered more and that 2 months ago it was not including my entire mouth. At no point was I provided a cost prior to receiving X-rays. I let her complete the x-rays as I had been to this office multiple times and never once had a concern about pricing. Brief review of X-rays with dentist: The dentist had come to inform me soon as I sat in the chair that I had an X-ray and showed a cavity that was too large to fill and would need a crown down... This dentist had told me the same thing a couple years prior. I ended up at the time accepting the service of having a "large" cavity filled and a crown placed costing $1,400 out of pocket (This crown had also popped off within the first year and had to be re-glued). I asked how much time I had before having to have this done before the condition worsens, I was told that it was an emergent need and that it needed to be done the same day. - Keep in mind, I had no sensitivity nor pain and my previous 6 month x-rays including CT scan from a different dental office did not report any issues. The dentist let me know that he would let the receptionist know and that she would work on pricing for me and left the exam room. Dental Hygienist assessment: After the X-rays and brief visit from the dentist, the Dental hygienist who completed my initial assessment had measured my gum pockets (periodontal charting) informed me that I have multiple pockets of a "4" depth and at least a handful of pockets at a "5" depth. There is no way.... I have never in my life ever had more than three total pockets of a "4" depth and zero at a "5" depth. I was VERY alarmed because never had I ever had this part of the assessment cause so much pain as it usually isn't able to be felt at all. I am certain this was an inaccurate assessment completed with improper skills as I could test slight blood after. - Keep in mind, I brush and floss daily and have great dental health. The Dental Hygienist informed me that I would need additional services "Irrigation and Laser", I had never heard of these services before. Receiving the cost: After the Dental Hygienist completed the assessment the receptionist met me while I was in the chair to go over costs. This is when I learned that pictures and x-rays were a $1,200 charge alone and was again pushed to purchase the in-house dental plan as it would be free. I was SHOCKED, I told the receptionist that I have never paid over $200 for a routine dental cleaning including x-rays prior to this. She had then told me that x-rays are always included in the cost of the exam and the office would "eat the charge". The receptionist left and went to the front desk to "see what could be done", a second receptionist returned and told me that X-rays are never included. I ask WHY WASN'T I INFORMED OF THE COST before even having them completed?! Cleaning: After unknowingly owing $1,290 for just X-rays alone before even sitting in the dental chair I opted for ONLY a routine dental cleaning. I questioned the Dental Hygienist's credentials as she couldn't even floss my teeth, it was clear she needed serious skill development. The cleaning lasted 10 minutes, I left feeling less clean than before.

I and my daughter had explained VERY thoroughly that she has severe trauma and anxiety. I was told I could stay with her during the procedure as her support. Everything seemed fine when we arrived. We were taken back to get her ready. I was sat in a corner. They gave her oral medication to relax her before IV sedation. Then, the assistant comes in and says, "Ok, it's time to move you back out front." I explained AGAIN about the trauma and anxiety and my daughter's wish to have me there with her. I was told the dentist would not allow it. I am frustrated, worried about my daughter, and angry that, KNOWING that she had a very bad history with dentists and suffers from anxiety, they were not transparent at all about this policy, but instead sprang it on us out if the blue AFTER my daughter was already being prepped with medication. This is unethical and wrong. I am hoping that everything turns out ok for my daughter. But, I am very disappointed in what I was hoping to be a good experience. I am amending my review to state that I will NEVER bring my daughter back to this office. My daughter was to be given IV sedation. She was told over and over that she was going to "take a nap." My daughter was awake and felt everything during the procedure after being told she would not be. I am beyond furious!
