My 85-year-old mother was taken to this hospital because she was experiencing severe hip pain. We…read morerepeatedly informed the medical staff that she had recently undergone a hip replacement. Instead of identifying the cause of her condition, the doctors determined she was losing blood and administered blood transfusions, but only after heavily medicating and sedating her. Over the course of four separate emergency visits, one every week, she received four blood transfusions. Despite this, no one thoroughly investigated why she was losing blood or why she continued to be in such pain. Each visit followed the same pattern: treat the symptoms with narcotic pain medication, give a transfusion, and discharge her without finding the underlying problem. Only after we repeatedly pleaded with the medical staff did they finally discover she was suffering from an internal bleed. She was then transferred to Long Island Jewish Hospital, where the medical team immediately evaluated her, administered another blood transfusion, identified the source of the bleeding, and successfully stopped it. Had the underlying cause been investigated during her first visit, my mother could have been spared weeks of unnecessary pain, repeated hospitalizations, and multiple blood transfusions. In my family's experience, this hospital focused on treating the immediate symptoms rather than diagnosing the root cause. It was an incredibly frustrating and frightening experience, and one I would not wish on anyone.

I receive regular e mail updates about my diagnostic tests, and am contacted ad-nauseam about upcoming appointments, etc. That said, clearly The Joseph P Addabbo Family Health Center has an impressive collection of information about me contained in its database. Despite this, I am asked to complete a FULL intake form EACH AND EVERY time I come to their offices for routine visits. Today, when I asked why I was being tasked with completing this process yet again, an employee bluntly replied: "Everyone does it..." Needless to say, this process has become tedious, insulting, and curiously archaic in today's digital age. Every time I call, I'm transferred to his floor and the phone just rings and rings. When someone does pick up the receiver, they hang up. On one of my calls, I was told by one of the staff members that this facility is short staffed which explains a lot. It took this facility over one week to get my father PostOp therapy. I live in another state and was worried that he was not being taken care of. Therefore, I purchased a plane ticket to New York and when I arrived, I asked him if he had physical therapy and he said that he just went for therapy that same day. it just has me wondering if I had not shown up, would he have gotten the physical therapy? Long story short I asked him if he had a taken a sponge bath, he said no. I went the following day to buy him wipes to at least wipe him down and clean him up. TO BE CONTINUED.......

I…read morewent to the hewlett location for a workers comp injury and was advised that the X-ray tech would be in between 6:30pm and 7pm. After waiting until 7:30pm, I was told that I would have to go to the cedarhurst location for X-rays. . I mean talk about incompetency. I was seen by the provider who couldn't tell me anything unless X-rays are done so why waste my time seeing me ??? To transfer me to another location ? Nevertheless, I went to the cedarhurst location and the front desk staff was clueless as to why I was there ‍. I stood and explained why I was there and they decided (?) to see me. While waiting in the waiting room, at exactly 7:40pm, the front desk turn off the lights in their area and the tv in the waiting room because they were not accepting anymore patients . It gets better at 8pm, all the front desk staff was gone while there were atleast 3 other patients waiting in the waiting room. My mind was blown. Literally! I am not sure whose doing the hiring process or what they are trying to achieve but it's sure not patient satisfaction. Who manages these office ?! I manage a dermatology practice and if this is how my staff was, I would've been fired by now.
