One girl quit or moved on because of this self proclaimed diva who infects all the others with her bad entitled attitude. She is rude , indifferent and entitled. Additionally after Oak Street calling me none stop to make an appointment I did. I travelled over four miles from my home to the Hempstead Oak Street in the rain. I made it there 15 minutes late. Ms. Entitled receptionist said your late. Not hello, drop dead, good bye can I help you. She then called the doctor who was less then ten feet away to tell her I was late. She then turns to me and said the Doc. will not see you because your late. This was a real problem. The Doctor knew how far I travelled to get there and the rain factor. One thing I resent is apparently when people are of a certain age there is a matter of fact and disrespect towards us. I happen to be not only an activist but active. . Once someone looks at my age the tone changes and I resent this and will always put it in writing. I consider it discrimmation. When I first saBw oak st in the neighborhood I had no idea it was for seniors !!! This tells me oak street has ninche a market that draws income from the senior population. Additionally they do not treat you on the premis They always refer you out to other doctors. So everybody is making a dollar off the senior. Its good to have a specialized medical place for the senior population but be aware that they do not use you unnecessarily referring you out to others doctors where Oak street probably benefits from. Apparently specialists won't see you if you're not seeing a primary care physician at their location. I had to go every 90 days for medication refill. After the second visit, after a 1 TO 3 HR wait, I was lead into an exam room where only YOUNG NURSING STUDENTS were in attendance -- NO LICENSED DR OR NURSE PRACTITIONER WAS IN THE ROOM TO SUPERVISE. At no time was I ASKED if I wanted to serve as the subject of a SCHOOL PROJECT. On what would be my FINAL VISIT to get my 90-day refill, the Student asked me, "What kind of pills do you want?"...LIKE I WAS ORDERING A CONE AT A SODA SHOP! I ASKED IF SHE WAS A STUDENT. SHE SAID, "No." I asked, "You're a NURSE?" She nodded and said, "I'm usually at the Long Island office." I told her my medication 3 TIMES, and informed her to just look at her computer screen! On the day before the worst snow blizzard in NYC history, when I went to pick-up my prescription, I found that THE STUDENT GAVE ME THE WRONG DOSAGE! Rayven contacted the pharmacy and made the correction. Later, when I contacted her to discuss the matter, there was no response. I was unable to speak with anyone but the receptionist who took my message, and promised the Nurse Practitioner would contact me. I LATER FOUND OUT, IT IS A VIOLATION TO HAVE NURSING STUDENTS WORKING WITH PATIENTS UNLESS A LICENSED MEDICAL DR, ETC, IS STANDING IN THE ROOM TO OVERSEE AND SUPERVISE. This was after a wait time of 1 to 2.5 hrs Every Time, just to get a med refill. The last time, when I went to the pharmacy to get my refill, I found that the UNLICENSED NURSING STUDENT GAVE ME THE WRONG DOSAGE. A secretary got Rayven to order the right dosage. But when I called the office to tell Rayven I refuse to see unlicensed students again, I was told she was unavailable, and she did not respond to the two call-back messages I left. I was later told it's a VIOLATION for nursing students to work with patients IN ANY WAY, UNLESS A LICENSED MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL IS PRESENT IN THE ROOM, OVERSEEING THE INTERACTION BETWEEN PATENT AND STUDENT! The secretary at Baldwin office is attitudinal and gets aggravated when you call for referrals or refills for prescriptions. Not like I ever asked for sleeping meds or ant narcotic pain medications. Don't go here. They don't input your meds that you're on. It is just a mill to see as many patients as possible in a day. Don't even get examined completely.
