Amazing event packed full of vendors that actually serve large portions! I was completely stuff by the end of the night. There were a tons of tasty drinks most notably QNSY, what a delicious cocktail in a can! Loved the ceviche and Punjabi food, even Applebees was there and served their spinach artichoke dip.

Queen's taste is legitimately a food lover's heaven. I was able to go for free as I had won a giveaway through yelp. I got there around 6:30 PM and all the stalls were already set up. The atmosphere of the event is lively and upbeat. My favorite stalls include: gyro project and Daryl's cookies. I also tried tanghulu for the first time. I had originally thought that I would've liked the candied sugar, however, the flavor was a bit too much for me and the crunchy candy was always sticking to my teeth. I also tried the Gulab Jamun, an Indian delicacy. I had tried this dish back in college, and I remembered not liking it. I tried it again this time around and I must say that my opinion on the dessert had not changed. I had steered away from the alcohol booths, as I am allergic to alcohol. Overall, I had enjoyed the experience as it allowed me to sample dishes throughout queens. I think that it is by far the best borough when it comes to food.

My yelp buddy wanted me to join him to the Queens Taste Gala Event this year, so bought a discounted ticket from pulsd. We arrived at the New York Hall of Science around 6:15pm and it was already packed! There were many vendors and plenty of samples for food and drinks to try throughout the event. My favorites were the soul food, ceviche, wagyu burger. kaya jam, and tea. We were pretty full by 8pm, but the crowds were still going strong. The event goes until 9pm. Despite the crowd and struggling to navigate passed people and find a place to eat, everyone was super nice and respectful. I love tasting menus, so this felt like an interactive one. I'm glad I was convinced to come.

Queens Taste is an annual all-you-can-sample food and drink fundraising event for the Queens Economic Development Corporation and Queens Tourism Council, and has been hosted at the New York Hall of Science for the past several years. This fundraiser is an outstanding way to learn about the diversity of casual dining restaurants and catering services that are in Queens. Yelp graciously gave us two tickets to attend the 2019 event. If you attend the event, arrive early to maximize your sampling and food photography opportunities, as crowd favorites can run out of food. Take advantage of free parking after 5 PM in the Hall of Science's parking lot; and of the museum's coat-check service, which only costs a small tip. Bathrooms are located on the first and basement floors. The most interesting vendor of the evening for me was Queens Curry Kitchen, for their Fusion Nachos. Other favorites, in no particular order: - Uncle Jack's Meat House, for their incredible bacon. - Queens Bully, for their Shrimp and Grits. The restaurant apparently ran out of grits by the time we stopped by, so we "only" received an amazing jumbo shrimp in some sort of crème sauce. - Casa Del Chef, for their Brook Trout with Asparagus Sauce. - Lady M, for their original and chocolate crepe cakes. Drinks were well represented at Queens Taste -- regular, caffeinated, mixed-alcoholic, and fully-alcoholic. Spicegrove's Roselle reminds me of Trader Joe's Winter Wassail, but the former is available year-round in selected local markets. We spotted some at Barrow's Intense Tasting Room, in Industry City, Brooklyn. Root Out's root beer flavored vodka mixed with vanilla ice cream was very good, too. Other feedback: - We tried Wonton Palooza's apple pie, mac & cheese, and hotdog wontons, and felt that their product could use further refinement. While the apple pie wonton was OK, the mac & cheese lacked moisture, while the hot dog wonton could have used a better hot dog.

An amazing food fest with 48 food and beverage vendors from all over the NYC area, plus a few non-food vendors. This event was held in the lower level of New York Hall of Science. First up was Uncle Jack's American Bar and Grill in Astoria, serving up a tasty treat of applewood smoked bacon with peanut butter and chipotle maple glaze. A sight to behold. A thick cut of bacon cooked to perfection, with the glaze as perfect accompaniment. Very tasty indeed. Next up, Leaf Bar & Lounge, located on the rooftop of Hyatt Hotel in Flushing. Something to wet my whistle as I move on to more food. Get "The Hellcat": jalapeno infused tequila, muddled cucumber, mint, cilantro, lime juice, red alder smoked salt. Has a nice kick. Around the corner is Nupur Arora who is at queens curry kitchen. She's author of a book,'The Vegan Indian Home'. Also offers cooking classes. With a bright cheery smile, she served up delicious, indian tex-mex vegan nachos made of spiced chickpeas, cheese, yogurt, corn, date/ tamarind chutney, cilantro, pico de gallo. Very delicious with lots of wonderful flavors, textures & spices. Nacho means dance in Hindi. That's what I did after eating these! So delicious! My #1 favorite dish of the evening! More palate cleansing at Spicegrove Roselle, a spicy ginger drink with hibiscus, ginger, allspice, cinnamon, lime peel, and cane sugar with no preservatives or artificial flavors. Tasty. Ms Powell has been serving it for years with family and friends. Now she's sharing it with us. Sold at $5 a bottle at some supermarkets. A surprise of the evening was at Queens Bully, a gastropub serving shrimp and grits. They ran out of grits so all I got was one jumbo shrimp lathered with a generous helping of creole sauce. So absolutely delicious! My #2 favorite of the evening. From what I heard from others, the grits were not good, too grainy. Lets hear it for Queens Bully and more Shrimp with sauce... maybe over pasta! Check them out in Forest Hills. There was a fun crew serving up pork belly tacos at El Corazon De Mexico! Lets hear it for yummy tacos! Another favorite of the evening was Casa Del Chef Bistro in Woodside, who serves us grilled trout with asparagus sauce. A top chef worthy fish dish topped with edible flower and microgreens. Chef Alfonso Zicay serves us a beautiful looking farm to table dish. In my book, the winner of the most beautifully presented dish of the evening. Time for dessert. Taiwanese Wheel Cake. Gotta try these at least once. They are very popular in Taiwan. Just oh so slightly sweet. Located at a small stall in Flushing. Lady M. Miss Lady M is here! One tiny bite is just not enough. So good. Must get more. So smooth and delicious. This is the first time I tried chocolate flavor. I still love green tea flavor the best. Go get it. Get more drinks in me from Root Out, a root beer flavored whisky! As they say all bark and no bite. A pretty strong whisky. Quite good. They mixed the whisky with some vanilla ice cream. An interesting combination. Another palate cleanser with Patricia Connolly at Garnish Catering, serving us a farm to table drink of chilled asparagus soup. Refreshing! Onto more sweet treats at Gateau du Ciel. Custom decorated cakes and sweets made by Marie, who is quite sweet herself. She showed me her wonderful cake creations. So beautiful, I don't know if I could bear to eat them. Good thing she has sample sizes of all her treats. Her banana pudding is so good, served in these cute little champagne cups. In my book, she is the winner of best looking table decorations of the evening. Ok Canaan in Flushing serving us Taiwanese style salt and pepper chicken nuggets. Even cold, they were tasty, not greasy. They have a pretty large menu. I'd be interested in trying other dishes if I'm in Flushing. Met a few fellow Yelpers which is always a pleasure. A shout out to Ben, Cynthia, Liz, Amelia, Fennie, and Julie! There were quite a few other stalls but I was already too full. So there it is, my time at Queens Taste. This event is for a good cause, proceeds support efforts to attract, create, and maintain jobs in Queens through business services, neighborhood development, the Entrepreneur Space (a food-and-business incubator), and marketing. Queens Economic Development Corporation and Queens Tourism Council did a great job putting this event together. A big thanks to Yelp and of course Jando for tix to a great evening at Queens Taste! This is an annual event. Come check it out!

So lucky to have gotten a pair tickets to this great event. It was a great night of yummy food and drinks. We came early at the start of the event to try and beat the crowds. Good thing too because we were able to chat with some of the vendors and most tables didn't have any lines yet. There were a lot of really delicious bites. A couple of my favorites were the arepas from Arepalicious and the pork belly tacos from Corazon de Mexicos. The guac on the arepas was so incredibly delicious and really went well with the pulled pork. And tacos from Corazon had a generous heap of pork belly. My mouth is watering just thinking about this dish. There were alot of desserts to be had as well. I especially loved the banana pudding from Gateau du Ciel. It was served in tiny champagne glasses and was a perfect bite. Not overly sweet with a great banana flavor. The crepes cake from Lady M was another standout for me. I've had their crepes cakes before and have always loved them so I was happy they were one of the vendors. It was an overall great event. We came away full and very happy. Thank you Jando and Yelp Queens for the hookup.

A big THANK YOU to Jando and Queens Yelp for the pair of ticket. It was an amazing experience to try out all these local vendors in Queens. It was a great turned out. My favorites are: Uncle Jack's Meat House, great thick cut bacon with homemade peanut butter. Cocktail from Leaf Bar & Lounge is very delicious. Amazing Bourbon & Caramel infused brownie just melt in your mouth from Mum's Kitchens. Pork Belly taco from Corazon De Mexico is a bomb, it's a bit messy to eat but no one complains about it as long as it's a good taco. lady M also brought their signature cake in, and it taste like creme bulee. There are also a lot of brewery, wineries and liquor tasting as well.

Another great event! This one was held in the wonderful Hall of Science. When I got the confirmation for the event, I was wondering where the event would be hosted since I couldn't remember there being a big empty space in this museum. They managed to have vendors between science experiments, which made the space a maze. There were a lot of people there last night, as to be expected with the 700 guests as mentioned in the event page. This made for some lines at the popular vendors and slight traffic getting from section to section. This did not deter me from trying all the food. I was amazed by how many vendors were there. A good chunk of them being alcoholic and dessert vendors. I did wish there were more restaurant vendors there but by the end of the night, I was too stuffed to even eat anymore. One of my favorites were Uncle Jack's Meat house with their thick bacon and homemade peanut butter. I went back for seconds. The bacon was really thick, juicy and sweet and was an interesting pair with the peanut butter. I also really love the arepa from Arepalicious. There was a long line for it but it was worth it. While waiting on line, I got sample some ginger beer from another vendor, which was delicious. When we finally got to the arepas, we were able to choose between chicken and beef. I already had 3 chicken dishes before this, so I was chickned out and decided to go with the beef. It was really juicy, cheesy and delicious, especially since there was guacamole added on top. I left early because I was way too full and there were just too many people. Overall I had a great time.

Woohoo! Thanks again to Jando and the Yelp team for a pair of tickets to the Queens Taste event. The event was held last Tuesday evening (5/7/19) at the New York Hall of Science from 6pm - 9pm. There were more than 50 vendors showcasing samples of their best food or beverages. I had great time tasting a bunch of different foods and talking to the vendors. It was also nice bumping into some of the Yelp Queens Elites as well. Some of the foods that I tried and here are the stand-outs for me: - Casa Del Chef's "Brook trout with asparagus sauce": This was probably my favorite dish of the night. I went back for a few samples. I'll have to go to their restaurant one-day to try their other offerings. -Ben's Kosher Deli "Mazo ball soup": So delicious and I definitely enjoyed the mazo ball in the chicken noodles soup. -Delicacy Brigadeiros Craft: This vendor specializes in Brazilian sweets. I had the dark chocolate brigaderio and it was melt in your mouth delicious. I wanted to try more but I didn't want to spoil my appetite with sweets in the beginning. -Uncle Jack's Meat House: They were the first vendor that I tried. They had bacon with homemade peanut butter on the bottom of the sample cup. I loved the thick cut of bacon and the favors were good. There were other vendors that I wanted to try such as "Aprealicious," but I couldn't eat anymore since I was so full. There were also some vendors that finished giving out samples early too. So next time if I get into the Queens Taste event again, I'll try to sample the savory dishes first and then the sweets. :)

I came here as part of Yelp Queens (thanks Jando!) for the first time. Bigger than the food and drinks, Queens Taste serves a great opportunity for local vendors to develop relationships with customers and that's the true benefit of this event. Located out in Corona, there were nearly 60 vendors and 700 guests in the NY Hall of Science. Ton of desserts, but some decent food and drink options (alcohol, coffee, etc.) including tasting some hot sauce (S/O Djablo!), local brews (S/O Singlecut Beersmiths). Some of the food options I was able to try (and take photos of) included: Rice & Beans (some dope pao de queijo) Kurry Qulture Wanton Palooza (the mac and cheese and apple crisp wontons - yeesh!) I tried a bunch more, but wasn't able to take photos of everything I ate. Also devoured plenty of desserts along the way. Overall, it was a fun event this year. Perhaps the only minor downside is that it got REALLY REALLY crowded at times and there wasn't any A/C, but those are easily fixable.

Thank You Sierra, Jando and Yelp for a pair of tickets to Queens Taste 2017. We had a great time. What a special treat to check out the eateries and local businesses in Queens. There were business from other boroughs as well. So many tables of food vendors and the lines were not long at all. Was selective when it came to which items to sample and ended with desserts. It was a beautiful night at The New York Hall of Science. Essentia reps greeted you with a bottle of their alkaline water once you got down the stairs to start your dining adventure. F. Ottomanelli- Was serving up sample mini burgers. Tried a regular burger and my guest went for the onion burger. Sheraton- The octopus sample was not rubbery nor over cooked. Daily News was giving out their newspaper in a red bag. Bareburger- Was making one of their shakes (brand new item) throughout the night. Really, creamy and it was in and edible chocolate cone cup. Salt and Bone Smokehouse- The ribs are to die for. Cooked to perfection. Kingza- Was giving out mini meals- samples of breaded fried chicken with soup and salad. VIA VAI in Astoria- The meatball was not heavy and very delectable with the sauce. Tiramisu in a cup creamy. Lucky to sample this for they were running out. Zenon Taverna- Halouvas dessert stood out can taste the fragrant rose semolina. There were so many different wine companies and beer ones as well. Stayed sober and tasted Tsingtao Beer, and Chang Beer. They poured little samples which was good. There were men asking for bottles of beer. Mamita's Ices was out of this world and my favorite was coconut. There were so many flavors to pick from. Isa's Cake- They had a mini cup dessert that tasted like a key lime pie. It was not too tart nor sweet. That item went fast. The Hibiscus Miniature cupcake from Mahalo New York Bakery stood out Watch out Edible arrangements you got new competitor-Fruit Bouquets were giving out pineapples shaped like the sun on a stick to attendees that stopped by their table. Nice to see another competitor coming into the market. Paleo with Love- Had Chia seeds with plaintain in a small sample cup. Talk about healthy dessert without the guilt. It was very tasty. The above listed were the ones that stood out throughout the night.

Queens Taste is an annual event held in the New York Hall of Science to promote local Queens restaurants and businesses. Tickets are expensive, but the proceeds goes towards helping develop local businesses. I was lucky enough to score complimentary tickets from Yelp. Thank you, Yelp and Jando! There were about 50 different vendors doling out food samples. The space was a bit crowded at times and a bit too warm, but it was a great event. I started out with the delicious honey bacon jerky with peanut butter sauce from Uncle Jack's Meat House. One of my favorites of the night considering that I am not even a fan of bacon nor peanut butter. Other favorites include the fish from Casa del Chef which was nicely presented, the tasty chicken from OK Canaan, and the deliciously flavorful drink from SpiceGrove (they are $5 a bottle and can be found in various supermarkets in Brooklyn or ordered online)! I was surprised to see Lady M there and the plain crepe cake was much better than the green crepe cake I had years ago. The Brooklyn Crafted ginger beer (strong ginger ale) was also very good and surprisingly affordable at less than $2 a bottle! Ben's Kosher Deli was very generous with their offerings, potato latkas and matzo soup, both which were very good! The most popular stand was Arepalicious with their generous portion of mini arepas. The guacamole topping was soo good! I will definitely be visiting some of these businesses in the future!

I'm so happy I attended "The Queens Taste 2019". When an event lives up to the hype, it makes the experience so much enjoyable and entertaining. Holding a food event at the NY Hall of Science sounded interesting, this event surpassed interesting, it was awesome. To start FREE PARKING in NYC for any event is great, yes they had free parking. One inside the venue we were directed to the almost lower level, where all the action was taking place. With close to 50 vendors letting us sample their foods, this included beer, wine and liquor. Here are some of my favorites from the event: Uncle Jacks Meathouse allowed us to sample there bacon in peanut butter, OMG! As a bacon lover I thought I went to bacon heaven, totally delicious! El Corazon De Mexico's had some of the most delicious pork belly tacos I've ever had. I won't forget this was an event, I just know those same tacos must be incredibly tasty when you actually visit their place. Arepalicious was totally delicious! We got to try both beef and chicken arepas they were serving, the chicken arepa was incredibly seasoned combined with the cheese in the arepa made things that much more tasty. Finally.... NEST! They definitely were my favorite spot of the event. The chicken was so darn delicious, I haven't stopped taking about the Caribbean Chinese food these guys have to offer. This review could not and would not be possible if it wasn't for Jando and Yelp! Queens. Thank you so much Jando for inviting me and making this awesome experience happen.

First we got ramen and dumplings. Small cup of ramen.. 3 dumplings not exactly worth the cost but L wanted to try it. The char siu piece was good. Broth was ...ok. They prob use sun noodles. There was something I didn't like. There was a weird aftertaste. Like metallic.. prob the water.. I dunno. L got his usually sugar cane drinks. Just ok for me. Joon was sold out of everything by 9ish.. but the lady still gave us a sample leftover of the beef dish. Should've gone to her stall first. Loved her food my first visit. Very short line to get pepper pot over rice. It was really good... I got it again at the end but they ran out of rice .. definitely needs rice with that sauce. The polish sausage is huge. And the pierogies were good too. I liked the one with jalapeños. A lot of stalls were sold out of items. A lot of people were lined up for tacos and grilled corn. I mean you can get that anywhere... I don't like the skewers from the night market .. I've tried it at 2 completely different vendors and it's either the seasoning that we don't care for.. or it's so overcooked. If you purchase a ticket on site, they even added a surcharge to credit card purchases. Remember to bring enough cash. The additional items add up quickly, and can easily reach 100$ for a family. That's a lot of green dollars - not leaves - for a Panda festival!

I found a few mentions of it online but no official website, it's apparently organized by the Queens Public Library and I did spot a table giving out free books. I uploaded some photos of online mentions of it to prove to Yelp it exists! The street fair is small, maybe five blocks, and consists mostly of affordable jewelry, toys, clothing, shoes and bags. Some if was a dollar store nonsense, but other people were selling everything from rugs to pipes, incense to handmade magnets. The older woman buying a magnet made me smile, "I'm getting the STRAWBERRY, because they're in season". I mean, it's a magnet, but also, it's October. I also saw a woman selling CBD products claiming to provide instant pain relief, another offering vegan soy based candles and soaps. I bought a cute over the shoulder travel bag for just $22. There was the annoying T-Mobile truck, and an Escape to the Caribbean booth which seems a bit suspicious to me. USA Devanand Yoga Center was there. As well as Exit Realty.... But they also had bouncy castles for the kids on one of the side streets. It was cool seeing them underneath the elevated 7 line tracks. Suddenly an older woman grabbed me and started rubbing my shoulders before directing me to a bunch of massage chairs (she was definitely someone's grandma, it was cool). I'm so primed to just so no but then I instantly thought, ya know what, I DO want a massage. $15 for 15 minutes, money well spent. They put a clean paper towel over the part of the chair my face rests on without me having to ask and were very friendly. It wasn't the best massage I've had, but it was great for the setting! Food options were limited. Queen Big Candy Apples, Ecuadorian grilled corn, Cane Man (cane juice), Zeppole/funnel cake guy, Mozzarepas (mozzarella grilled in-between corn bread), cotton candy out of an adorable tiny pink truck, Panaderia Tlaxcalita - selling lemonade and fruit juices, the sausage and pepper guys, and Athens Delight doing lamb gyros, and beef and chicken kebabs. This was the place I ended up ordering a lamb gyro from, with lettuce, onions, tomato, and tzatziki sauce. For $10 this was super filling, I couldn't even finish it. It tasted a bit like sausage but sliced long and thin, really moist and flavorful. The festival was a nice walk, a fun last minute thing to do, I definitely enjoyed myself. But right now it's small enough that I wouldn't tell people to make a pilgrimage for it. I'd like to see them bring more local restaurants from the area to sell their food, or even some of the regular street vendors who work in that area. Two porta potties, pleasent surprise!

I tried the fried mac and cheese balls. It was decent but not worth 4 for 5 dollars. The takoyaki from Karls Balls , "Octopus Balls from Osaka to yo Blocka" was no where near the takoyaki from Japan. They were mushy and fell apart the moment we stabbed into it. The C Baos were 5 dollars for a bao which was not filled all the way with meat and wayy too much bun. Yelp had a table there too and Sierra was doin her thing, holdin it down and making sure everyone is happy. I would say visit it once and see what you think. But for me , I don't think I'd return since Flushing has a lot of cheap eat options already.
