We have used Queensgate many times over the last 10 years for two different dogs. Our first dog was happy to go in and happy coming out. The dog we currently have is pretty difficult to please. She doesn't like much if she isn't;t with her family. She does really well at this kennel. Brendan knows her and lets her hang out with the smaller dogs (she's medium sized). She doesn't bother anyone and they don't bother her. She is in good spirits when we pick her up. We will continue to use Queensgate as long as we have a dog. read more

Definitely dusty as someone mentioned but my dog loves dirt so it wasn't a concern to me, I know to give her a bath on our way home but otherwise she is happy and enjoys playing with the other dogs. I had zero concerns upon getting her that she wasn't well taken care of. Only negative I'd say was she had a tick on her when she left but I noticed and got it, just pay attention to your pet! read more

Queensgate Kennel has been our saving grace the past 8 months or so, and we will miss them dearly after we relocate out of state. Our boxer Winston has been coming here almost every weekday with some weekend/holiday boarding. We usually drop him off in the mornings and pick him up around lunchtime, but have certainly left him there all day at times. Only being a puppy, I think he would be overly exhausted if we let him play there all day, everyday. Brandon and Dave (son and father owners) are amazing! Brandon has really helped me and my roommate with training Winston, and has offered to come with us to the dog park to help with additional training. He and his father are always willing to explain how our pup was during the day, and give us any feedback on how we can correct some of his "puppy behaviors". I love knowing that Winston is in good hands during the day, exercising, and socializing with other dogs. I know he loves it there because he gets so excited once we drive around the corner before pulling in. Sometimes it's even hard to get him to come home with us. Anyone who has a boxer (or any other extremely energetic breed) can feel confident that your dog will get out some good energy here. As for the payment complaints mentioned in other posts, we have not had a problem. Yes, they prefer check or cash, but you can also pay with credit card (along with a transaction fee). There have also been times when we probably owed money for a new daycare package but didn't pay until the next day. This may not be a common practice, as we are there pretty much everyday. They know to expect us back. Overall, we love Queensgate Kennels. It is a laid back environment, where I feel like I am dropping our pup off at a friend's house rather than a huge organization. I highly recommend this place, and hope there is one like it in Arizona. read more

Queensgate Kennel is what heaven must be like, not only heaven for our dog but for owners as well. Our puppy is so excited to go to day care everyday, he whines when the stoplight turns red on our way to Queensgate Kennel, and coming home to a tired puppy has been a godsend. Our pup has been boarding and going to day care here for the past 9 months and we could not be more pleased with our experience. With a rambunctious little puppy, we found it hard for him to get his energy out while we were at work all day. Day care provides a constructive way for him to get his daily exercise. The owners Brandon and Dave have been so helpful in teaching us and keeping us informed on our puppy's behaviors. They are always so nice and friendly and willing to help us with training. By sending our dog to Queensgate Kennel, it has made home life so much easier. Our dog is leaning how to social with a variety of dogs, listen to new commands, and appropriate behaviors as he continues to grow. I have recommended Queensgate Kennel to coworkers, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to send their puppy to daycare/boarding. read more

My dog Gidget absolutely loves it here. I take her 2-3 times a week so she can exercise and play during my long work day. Dogs run free in yards where they play and develop socially rather than going nuts in a cage. Arrangements can be made for early hours drop off (a necessity when I am leaving for work at 5am). When I must leave town without her I board her with them. Gidget is always excited when we arrive and can't wait to get in the door to see her friends. The proprietor and his son are GREAT with the dogs. The price is incredibly fair. They know the personalities and tendencies of the dogs they watch. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! read more

This isn't the cheapest place, but they provide a safe place for the dogs to stay and play. They have a dog whisperer level of understanding of the dogs and not only do they wear the dogs out but they really improve the behavior as well. On top of that they really get to know and care for your dog . One of my favorite things is that they don't try to get as many dogs smashed into a tiny place as possible but stay consistent with just a few dogs at a time. I'll definitely be bringing my dog back soon! read more

Queensgate is a God sent to us. It's Vito's home away from home both for boarding and play care. I don't worry a bit when he's there as I know he is in good hands and is getting a lot of exercise. We've been taking out Great Dane, Mona, to Queensgate for the past year+. Mona is 7 years old, a rescue, and requires a lot of extra care (i.e. rest away from others). They do a great job with her, she absolutely loves to spend the day there and trust them to watch her anytime. We travel quite a bit and have left here several days at a time, always with 5-star results. The owners were accommodating and informative when we call to check on here when we're out of town. read more

One star and I hate to say that. We have been using this kennel for the past couple of years, and our two dogs have done really well. We picked our dogs up a couple of months ago (they were there for a week) at the scheduled time and day. Dave was working the counter (and he has always been great). Well, not this day. He was rude and just plain not nice. I wrote this off to the fact that someone else had also came in the waiting area, with a dog, while we were there checking out with our dogs (very small checkin area). So then, today I call them to confirm they have no spots for the end of September and Dave basically yells at me on the phone "I said we have no damn room". I refuse to give any business my money that talks to dedicated customers like that. When doing review on potential kennels, prior to choosing this place, some of the reviews mentioned that the "older guy" was a real jerk and I guess it just took some time for us to finally see it. It's very unfortunate because our pups liked it there and I have always bragged up the place to others. You live and you learn. The search is on for a new kennel. read more

As 1st time visitors we took our 2 Cairn terriers (8yrs and 5yrs) for doggie day care. Our youngest dog has several 'issues', including non-social behavior with other dogs. We explained our concerns to the owner and he told us he would be introducing our dogs to the other 'boarders' but under strict supervision. While we had our reservations about how well this would work, we agreed to let them try. When we returned to pick our dogs up 8 hours later, we were thrilled to see both our dogs running and playing with the rest of the pack. The people at this kennel are obviously very knowledgeable and 'hands on' with the dogs in their care. The dogs are played with and well supervised and not just left in a kennel all day. The price for day care was great and I would definitely recommend this kennel to anyone. read more

The owner/father is one of the rudest people I have ever met. I called 3 days ago and made arrangements to board my dog during Christmas. The father called me at 9:00 pm to tell me that he had been out of town and I could not bring my dog at Christmas because they had no spots, I told him the guy I talked to said they had 10 spots open, he said I don't really care what he told you, the spots I have are for my regulars I'm not taking any new customers. I told him I had already bought plane tickets and what was I suppose to do and he really got mad and hung up. I called him back and told him I would not be bringing my dog because I felt he would be mean to him because he was being really crappy to me, he said did you call to cancel or chew me out and then hung up on me. If you are thinking about taking your dog there think twice if he is that rude and mean to clients think how he will treat your animals. read more

We have left our dog here over several weekends when we were out of town. We like this place because its not your typical kennel where they stay in their own dog run all day. During the day they get to play with other dogs which is great if your dog is social. He always comes home happy and tired. I do wish they had a bit more diversty it what looks like their outdoor play area, its mostly dirt and gravel, a little grass might be nice! One other slight downside is that they are cash/check only, but they are pretty good about reminding you if it is your first time. read more

We have been using Queensgate Kennels for about 5 years now. We have 2 labs and Brandon does a phenomenal job getting to know their individual personalities, caring for them, reinforcing training, and letting them have a fun time each day, winter or summer. They have an excellent setup with indoor individual spaces and outdoor play time in the mornings and afternoons. Our older lab is fanatical for retrieving tennis balls, and Brandon obliges. Our other dog just loves playing with the other dogs there. Brandon does a phenomenal job and we are so fortunate to have him in this area! No complaints whatsoever--and we drive a distance to bring our dogs here, after having tried some other places. In response to some other posts, Brandon's dad does have a different temperament than Brandon, but we have not had any issues whatsoever. When we've called in advance, we've always been able to get our dogs scheduled, and we've had not a single problem. As a testimony to how much our dogs love coming here when we are going on vacation, as we get closer to the place for drop-off, one of our dogs can tell (smell/sense?) where we are headed, so he starts whimpering and getting excited, then as soon as we pull in, he is ready to fly out of the car and up to the door to go greet Brandon and have fun with the other dogs. read more
