She was very knowledgeable about Wright and Russell and Ruth Kraus who the house was built for and the only residents. The Kraus house is one of the very few Wright houses that have not been remodeled and contains the original furniture designed by Wright. It has a cozy feel from the time you walk inside. I was intrigued by the esthetic design throughout the home.

We didn't know if we could get on the tour that day so we first stopped by to see it and take some pictures. We met an intern and found out that we could get in on a tour about 2 hours later. So we paid our fee and went to see Frank Lloyd Wright's mentor, Louis Sullivan's Wainwright Building in downtown St. Louis. I believe this is one of Sullivan's best work still standing. When we returned for the tour I was stunned. This is a great, late house by Wright that has many magical and playful elements to it. It's has most of the original furnishings and something totaling unexpected in a Usonian house--art glass windows. The tour guide was new and did an excellent. Everyone involved in this project should be very proud of the work they've done, and continue to do.

Laumeier is a beautiful neighborhood park featuring a wide variety of art installations which are…read moresure to amaze and entertain, some great shaded walking paths with play area for the children. The park also hosts the annual art fair and other pop up events. My favorite thing about this park is that it is not super crowded. While the weekends might boost the number of visitors, the park is usually still fairly peaceful. We've met photographers here before as the sculptures and sceneries do introduce lovely backgrounds for photoshoots. We've also just spent some time strolling with our pup on beautiful days. There is an education center to learn about the park. Aside from beautiful nature scenes and flowers, there is a large eyeball which is quite an entertaining conversational piece, a very tall human piece, a leafy looking piece made of wood, a large moose (I think?) and so much more! If you haven't made the trip, take some time to check this place out on a morning or an afternoon stroll and check out some outdoor arts!

Plenty of computers to use and lots of books available for adults and kids. I bring the kids here often to read books and participate in activities they have. Staff is always helpful and friendly. Very clean spaces and I enjoy renting books online and picking up at this location when ready.

This place is often very crowded and can be overwhelming for children and adults so remember to take breaks and if needed go to the sensory friendly room to regroup. For accessibility may be harder to navigate if using a mobility device or if need a sight cane. I would also not recommend using a service dog at this location due to the combination of crowds, noises, and difficulty of children understanding the dog is working (they will ask to pet).

The selection of books, magazines, movies, puzzles, and other items is top-tier. The kids section was immaculate and one of the largest I have seen at any county library location. It's a treasure to me, filling with lots of gold n jewels....except its books and movies and things along those lines. I've never been to a library with a gift shop! Or a library that lets you check out cds! Or a library with three stories if you include the downstairs. Now imagine that all into three, how amazing. I'd also like to compliment the infastructure inside and outside. Decor is so cozy and amazing, and the outside is furnished with plants, trees...anything you could think of! How fun. The place was very organized as well! Very impressive I dare say. Everything seems perfect. So why am I giving this place a four stars? Service was a little rocky in my opinion, because the librarian checking us out and "helping us" was slacking very much. There was no whimsy, no joy, no shine or polish, nothing. This is why three out of five of the CDS I checked out were still locked, very unprofessional. This library is awesome though! Of course, as they say, a few bad apples don't ruin the whole batch so I want to overall give kudos to this library!
