Actually a negative number would be more accurate! I arrived this morning on my rollator (recovering from hip replacement) to find the sidewalk snowy and icy from the weekend storm. I struggled to get into the building to find the elevator out of order (the lab is on the second floor). I called from the ground floor to explain my situation, but could not speak with a person and the voice on the phone did not understand anything I said. Sat and waited for an hour because, despite using their kiosk to check in normally, the technician didn't know I was here - didn't come up on their screen - though they saw me sitting there every time they came out to get someone ese. Finally asked for my name. So first, make sure the system works, and second, ask someone who is sitting there who they are a lot sooner. I should add that the technician is very good. read more

Soo it's not really possible to lower the score given by others before my experience. I didn't really believe what was written. I arrived early for my appointment. Quest administration seems to think osmosis will admit patients. Expect that you too will be hanging about the small entryway like a burglar until someone exits to let you in. Bring a grappling hook. When another patient exits you can travel to the 2nd flr and be met by an atrium waiting area shared by 2 other offices. The chairs..all the chairs are cloth and too many had what looked like the map of Turkmenistan written in bodily fluids on the seats. Choose wisely. The successful Quest patients formed a polite queue of clients sitting until the check in door opened. Then it was back to back standing waiting. Appointments be damned. Waited for another 10 mins to get to the kiosk to be informed on the screen that I WAS LATE for my appointment and to reschedule. This is the part where automation replaces accountability. My advice for this location? Its not fault or responsibility of the techs to stop what they are hired to do to ring in the patients. Unemployment and even student internships mean Quest can and should HIRE someone to let the people in and do the admin work. In other words treat the patients with basic old fashioned respect. 3 patients left before the door was even opened to check in. It makes no sense to treat appointments like walk ins yet say they have priority for testing. Damnmit Quest DO BETTER. Thank you all the hard working techs that continue to put treating the patients over letting Quest push the needed reception duties off to the Godot. I had a 3:30 appointment. Confirmed by text and told to wait in car until called. Waiting until 3:45 I finally try to get into building, call, text, and no answer. Someone leaves and I get upstairs where there's a sign saying sorry they left at 2pm. Okay emergency maybe, but no one in the entire office could bother to cancel appointments! One hour wasted for nothing. I would send a bill to corporate but no contact info on the site whatsoever. (Okay can look for xyz@questdiagnositcs.com). I was so worried about coming in because of most Quest reviews and not having time for a long wait, but I'm beyond glad I chose this one. I made an appointment. I checked in on my phone at 2:18pm and was waiting for the elevator back down at 2:26pm. AMAZING!!! It was that seamless. I didn't get the name of the tech who drew my labs but she was wearing Lavender Figs scrubs. You were great, thank you! Went there for bloodwork and encountered a confrontational staff. Phlebotomist was incompetent and I ended passing out twice. They made the experience more stressful than it should have been. Will NEVER go there again. STAY AWAY. I've put in a formal complaint to the corporate office. read more

Convenient location for labs if you're in Riverdale. Online appointment system is good. The staff is busy and I waited 20 minutes past my appointment time. It seemed they were backed up. They should either schedule fewer appointments or hire more staff. The person I spoke to was very pleasant and professional. Rooms are kind of like small offices, could be a little cleaner. The building is old. I'd recommend getting an early appointment, might avoid some waiting. read more

I'm not a big reviewer, but I'm writing this, specifically, because I overheard a conversation about someone else's negative review that just doesn't reflect my experience there at all, and I've been to this facility about 10 times over the years. They could not be nicer or more efficient despite the fact that, in my opinion, they are chronically understaffed. Many times, the one phlebotomist on duty has to juggle everything from answering phones, buzzing patients in, dealing with walk-ins, and actually drawing blood. Some patients don't seem to realize this and they get annoyed that nobody buzzed them in right away. Even before Covid, they had an automated sign-in touch-screen system that allows you to sign in without having to wait for staff assistance. After you sign in, a TV screen mounted on the wall of the waiting room displays the first name of every patient, along with an estimated waiting time that updates continuously. Once they call your name, they already have all of your info and the tests ordered for you displayed on their screens. I've never had anybody there ever have to stick me more than once to get a vein and they're actually much better at drawing blood than most physicians and nurses. I've never had to redo a test there, either, whether because someone failed to draw enough blood or used the wrong test tube, which has happened to me several times when I have my blood drawn by my PCP. That's why I always ask my PCP to send my requisition to QD instead of going to my PCP for my blood-work. read more

I've tried to get an appointment for bloodwork since mid December (it's now mid January). Initially they had closed early when I went there. I navigated their online schedule procedure, and got an appointment when they were to return. The appointment was confirmed, and then cancelled within a few days. I learned that they would be closed longer. I scheduled again, and got a confirmation and link to click when I got to the lab. I walked over on a freezing cold day. The response to the link was to wait in my car ( which I didn't have). So, I walked around for a few minutes, came back, and got another message that they couldn't find any appointment for me. I tried to contact them by text, looked unsuccessfully for a phone number, could not get a response to the elevator. So I was not able to communicate with anyone or get up to the lab, and could not get the blood drawn. I have sent several queries about this to the Quest website, but no response. I assume there were staff shortages, possibly due to illness, which of course is unfortunately, but PLEASE! communicate better with patients, and get a better intake system!!!
