The facility is nice and clean; Parking is also great, since it's on a Strip Mall. The Staff are also nice. I have some gripes though. 1. I and company were ahead of 2 patients to arrive and check in. We were then brought to a room to get my Parents' vitals for a TDaP and Polio vaxx and we're told that the Doctor will be in shortly. 30 minutes already passed and we were still waiting so I asked outside, and a Nurse told me that the were 2 more ahead of me and only 1 Doctor was available. I went to check the waiting area and 2 new patients were there... which meant that the 2 behind me earlier were able to be seen before us. I didn't mind waiting even longer, if only someone just explained that the 2 patients needed to get ahead due to serious conditions compared to us, who were only in for shots. 2. Dr. Brian Fahnrich was rude and needs to attend an In-service Training to learn correct bedside manners. He kept on saying that CDC recommendation for Polio & Tdap vaxx needs to be injected in the same arm, and that we can make it easy or a difficult one when I was asking that my 77y.o. Mom requests them on different arms due to low-pain tolerance; I guess he got irritated and called the Office Mgr. into the room. While he was preparing the injections, he even said to me that "since I seem to know more than him" in a condescending and sarcastic tone, even after I said that I trust him because he's the Doctor. I don't expect Medical Professionals to be cheerful and chatty, but at least consider the patient's concerns and explain properly if it cannot be accommodated. Does he think we're dumb and doesn't understand what he's saying if he'll explain, because we're Asians?! Besides, it's not like he did the injections for free; I paid $150 on top of the cost of vaccines for each of my parents. I started coming here at the start of the pandemic (March 2020) to get tested for COVID-19. The wait time has always been 1-2 hours to be seen. The process to register and be seen by staff is simple. You are asked for demographics, insurance, and emergency contact. This urgent care provides PCR results in 48 hours. The quickest results received, compared to other urgent care facilities. They recently added an online appointment service which has been a life saver! I did not wait my usual 1-2 hours! This was a reprieve after going to a Montefiore Urgent care and being told a 2-2.5 hour wait before I even signed my name. I decided to give AFC a call. It was 9:30pm and Ian answered the phone and pleasantly informed me that they close at 10pm and do take my insurance. I arrived at approximately 9:36 from the previous Matrix Urgent Care and I was seen, diagnosed, discharged with RX sent to a 24hr pharmacy and in my car by 9:59. #winning The young lady at the front desk wasn't exactly warm and fuzzy but she did her job. The intake nurse/PA was nice and efficient (jacked my name up of course... smh... lol) but she was really thorough. No surprise the doctor confirmed the suspicions that brought me in, in the first place. I caught the eye cooties from some random crumb snatcher... smh. Kids you gotta luv them but they are germ factories. My first (and last time) at this urgent care was earlier this year during the height of flu season. The wait was long but expected and the doctor was fine. The reason they get one star is because I had switched insurances due to changing jobs and they overcharged me on my copay ($25 vs $75). This review is for the front desk: April 25th 9:37 called them to find out if they are taking patients. Explained my symptoms and told me to come in. 11:30 go in only to find out that I had to call them again and sort of do a registration over the phone. The wait time will be 30-40 min 12:45 still waiting outside. A lady pulls up and asked if there is a line to get in. I explained to her that she needs to call the number on the door and that they will take her info. Victoria comes out, and i asked her about my place on line; she said that she noticed my name on the list. Now the lady that just pulled in her car approaches Victoria and Victoria simple tells her to come in. So when the lady goes in her car to get her purse I then asked Victoria why is the lady going in when she didn't even know what needed to be done. Victory then says that she actually spoke to her and that she registered her, so I tell her Victoria that how can that be possible when the lady didn't even know that she had to call the number; if she already spoke to you how come she doesn't understand the process that you have in place... So the lady goes in, I stay outside...stilllllll waiting. I then called the office to inquire about my place on the list, guess who answers? Victoria! In the mean time I get an incoming call from their number and it quickly hangs up. Victoria proceeds to tell me that there are two more people in front of me ( the people that were in front of me when I got there, I saw them already leave), I said okey. Then I called their number again to inquire about the missed call and guess what? I was next on the list. Honestly, this story discredits one employee word worthiness, Victoria. Read the top of the review and tell me if you feel that this could had been handle better. The only reason why I still come to this place is because is the closest to my house and there IS PARKING. 1 employee can change the outlook of a business. UPDATE 5/27 Two strikes in one month? My husband was just there this past Sunday with a kidney stone...those of you that had a kidney stone knows the type of pain he was going through.... He first waited close to two hours and then inside another hour and plus...He walked out of the room and asked if he was going to be seen and he was told that he had to wait some more, at that point my husband said that he was done waiting and they told him just okey. This AFC urgent care doesn't about people's time, they lack human touch and compassion; they only care about $$$. How is it possible that the front desk only cares about keeping a conversation rather than being compassionate. My experience wasn't so good. Pros- Front office staff Nurses (excellent) Wait time. Cons- Book smart, No common sense smarts. Company 1st, patient 2nd The nurse I had did it all. The Dr came in to read the results. No medication prescribed. Only gave me a Dr's note for the day itself. Would not give me 1 for the following day. But I was told if I didn't feel better I could come back in. Ahhh, now I saw why. More $$ for the business. Company 1st, patient 2nd. I could've saved my $40 & got the Mucinex I ended up getting anyways instead. Common sense tells us if you're sick today, you won't be 100% in 24hrs or you take a high risk of a set back/relapse. Not to mention most of us, if not all, have to show our employer we were actually sick. The NYC sick law does NOT apply to everybody working. Woke up the next morning feeling even worse. Turned into a body flu. So I found myself a primary Dr. I won't be coming back here again if I can help it. Unfortunately most of us live in a cold reality when it comes to keeping our jobs. **Update** Found myself a primary the very next day. Had a sinus infection. Was prescribed 2 separate medications. A thorough exam was done by the Dr. The Dr at the walkin never even touched me. My primary checked my glands & other areas to make sure it wasn't strep. And gave me the Dr's note I needed. So now I don't have to go back to the Dr's office since my new Dr did his whole job correctly. read more

Just came from AFC urgent care throggsneck. I highly recommend this place. I didn't want to take my mom to ER in the midst of the covid chaos. This ended up being a Godsend. We didnt need an apptmt. I called from home and was told to come and call from car. Then they would call us back to come to door when they had an available room. She had xray, blood test etc done. Everyone that saw us was courteous and pleasant from the xray guy to the lady trying to find a vein in mother's arm. My mom is a terrible patient but even with that we were never rushed and we were there for over an hour trying to get urine and the test results. I would go here if I ever needed care and couldn't get to my primary doctor. read more

Normally I go to Jacoby Hospital but it was closed due to Holiday. I should have just waited. I went to take the COVID here and the man shoved that testing gadget down my throat and if I didn't push his hand he was going to keep going further. Ridiculous. He never had to go that far. Last night I went in for some severe pain I was having in my wrist, I've been here a few times with my daughter and it was always a pleasant experience. I was slightly annoyed with my wait time (2+ hours) because 1. I was in pain & 2. I've been spoiled by usually being in and out within an hour. Nonetheless, within a total of 3 hours...I received excellent care; being provided with an x-ray examination, my results, and also a little extra care when I wasn't feeling too well upon leaving. Today was my very first time AFC Urgent Care, and I must say that I was very pleased with this establishment! I brought my daughter in because she was running a temperature and I wasn't too pleased with the last Urgent Care facility that I brought her to within the last month. Every single person I encountered working at this establishment greeted us with a warm, welcoming smile. They were all so professional and caring as well. Even though the wait time to be seen was a little lengthy most likely being due to it being a holiday and a Monday, it was well worth the wait! Dr. Wan, Danielle, and Nathalie were all wonderful and took great care of my daughter. I also received an excellent written and verbal Education and Consult regarding the medications that were prescribed and other instructions to help with my daughter's recovery. Not what I expected I walked in filled out the registration form gave my insurance card and photo I'd (for verification) waited about 2 hrs and half not bad compared to an emergency room. Once called I was brought into a room Stephanie took my vital signs and temperature she's a sweetheart very professional FYI she knows her hip-hop and loves hockey After Stephanie was done a few minutes later I thought the doctor was going to see me but I seen the doctor assistant (hasesa Williams) i honestly didn't know she wasn't a doctor because she was knowledgeable and knew what she was talking about she was very professional every time she seen something wrong she kNew the name of whatever she was looking at. I said to myself "she acts like I know what she's talking about" she than explain whatever she was reciting In none doctor language. I basically had an ear infection. After she was done she prescribing medication which I sent to a pharmacy at target which is closed on Sundays. Came here for the first time with cold, congestion, sore throat and pink eye. Doctor Jijoe walked in, asked me reason for my visit, he put light on my eyes, confirmed is pink eye and walked out the room. Assistant then came and told me prescription and sent me on my way ... seriously visit didn't last 2 full minutes, to get changed $250 co-pay is ridiculous .. he didn't even check my throat or perhaps my ears, for infection. It doesn't matter if u signed in before someone else, they will bypass you. City md is a much better urgent care that actually does something!! First time here staff was friendly & place was clean. The wait time was short & doctor was good. The only thing I did not like was they don't give you any paperwork about your diagnosis like City MD. At City MD where I frequent they give you paperwork when you pay that has your diagnosis & what you have been prescribed. Second visit here one other person in waiting area but extremely long wait for doctor. They take your co-pay before you see the doctor so it kind of makes you hesitant about leaving not wanting to go through the hassle of getting a refund. I think it will be worth the drive downtown closer doesn't get you better. I have been here over an hour & still waiting to see the doctor after the triage & I can hear other people from the waiting area who came after me being treated. This is the worst urgent care in the world. The only doctor that knows what he is doing is the older guy. There is a woman doctor that does not know what she is talking about. She gave me and my husband a scare regarding our 18 month old and made us rush to the emergency room for no reason. She does not know the difference between toddler diagnosis, children, adults, or elderly. If you want to live longer, do not go there. I can't believe the incompetence of the assistants responsible for putting medications through. A vital component to the medication was left Unprescribed and no one is reachable after hours. I can to rectify this the following morning and am assured it's sent to the pharmacy, hours pass and nothing! No contact to me by the location, nothing sent! I call back and it's simply... "Oh sorry, our mistake." What a sham!! They need to check there work, give documentation to patients and someone should be checking the right medications are being sent! read more

This place was amazing and continues to be. The doctors are amazing as well. However, the staff need to be attentive and smile more. Also, the waiting needs regular attention, I would hate to see garbage and rubbish on the floor. I was at this location on a Thursday morning. I arrived at 8:45 and was there until 11:30. There were about 20 people in the waiting room when I arrived and I was a little over an hour before I was finally taken into the exam room. Everyone was polite, I got checked out, received an X-ray, and a prescription. They handled all my paper work regarding worker's compensation since mine was a work injury. I have no complaints at all, just be prepared for the fact that your visit will probably take over two hours. (in my experience, no medical issue ever takes less time than that). The staff told me that mornings are usually less busy than afternoon's so I'm glad I got there when I did. Next time I go, I'll get there for opening time at 8 AM. The last time someone in my family had a medical issue, we went to the hospital emergency room and were there for 12 hours, so I definitely recommend urgent care if it's not a serious emergency. If I had one suggestion, I wish there was a way to make an appointment. I have to go back for a follow up on Monday but they only do walk-in's. read more

Let me start off by saying that this review is the combination of 2 visits. Last year I went in with my son who had a bad cough and he was misdiagnosed. They made me hold him down for xrays to see if he had bronchitis when he didn't. Even I could clearly see he didn't. The wait was over 2 hours and there wasn't anyone in the waiting room. They also make you wait more than 30 minutes in the exam room. That was Summer 2017. Yesterday, I went in and it was crowded yes, and I expected there will be a wait. The news played and a whole episode of jeopardy played and not ONE person was called to the back. The women sitting at the reception area have the most unfriendly faces in the world. After waiting for 2 hours, I asked for my co-pay back and all of a sudden, we were called to the back. We waited more than 45 minutes in the exam room to be seen. How do I know it was that long and I am not exaggerating? An episode of Wheel of Fortune and the Goldbergs played. The doctor saw my son, said about 10 words to the women with the computer on wheels (barely addressed me, the parent), gave my son some bacitracin (he was there for a gash across his chin from falling, thought he might need stitches) and that was it. 3 hours, $50 co pay for basically Vaseline. Save your time and find another urgent care that actually cares about its' patients time, money, and well-being. read more

My very first time at this facility on sat 4/25/2015 got there at 8:00am and ladies wasted no time to get me checked in. The ladies were on point and very polite, a smile so early when feeling crappy was so needed. Thanx ladies!!! Didnt wait no more than 10 min when called in by Jeremy who also greeted me with a smile, very professional and attentive!! I've also been misdiagnosed 2 out of 3 times and forced to go to my real doctor or another urgent care days later for the correct diagnosis and new prescription after my symptoms worsened. This place is amazing! From technicians to nurses and doctors as well as staff everyone was wonderful. They treat you with care and respect. I went in first time blind expecting the worst but praying for the best. Had a nagging cough for several days and now shortness of breath. Once i was able to find my insurance info they took me in within minutes, not hours. I was given a full workup including chest x-ray and ekg and blood work. All tests came back within 15 minutes and i was diagnosed with pneumonia. Before they let me go with a request for me to follow up on Friday, I was even set up with a nebulizer to help me breathe. Now all I have to do is go get my Rx at my local pharmacy. They even sent them in for me. What else could i ask for? read more

This place is absolutely disgusting. If giving 0 stars was an option, I'd give it. It took an hour to get into a room, then once I'm placed into a room, another hour for the provider to come see me. The staff is rude and unprofessional and don't know how to prioritize patients whatsoever. After waiting an hour and 50 mins just to get seen by someone, the doctor took approximately 4 mins to asses me, ask me my symptoms again after I told the scribe and ultimately send over a medication. Took my daughter there last year to be seen when I couldn't make it into the city to see her regular doctor. Wait time was very little. Doctor and medical assistant were polite and friendly. I have no complaints over the care. Now almost a year later I get a bill from them stating I owe them money. After checking with my insurance company first it turns out I do not owe them anything other than my copay which they quickly collected when we were seen. I came to this location in Throggs Neck to "ask" a question about their procedures and policies for COVID-19 testing. When I arrive, there was a young man waiting outside, so I ask him if he was waiting to get inside because I only wanted to ask a question about how this works. He replies that he was waiting outside about 20 minutes and the door was locked the entire time. He stated no one went in or came out. I preceded to call the number on the door for clarification. A male answered the phone and immediately put me on hold. After standing there for about 20 minutes while still on hold I walk toward my car in the parking lock that was located directly in front of the facility. This way I can see when was the next movement about to take place. About ten minutes later a young lady approached the door and knocked and at that time someone from the office opened the door for her. After getting out of the car, and approaching the door I was discouraged to ask a question or enter because I must call first. I told her, Victoria, that I was in fact on "hold" and waiting for someone so I could ask a question. She informed me to continue to hold on. Puzzled, I could not understand what kind of procedure is this? Going along with the shenanigans, it took an hour to be able to ask a question about taking a test for COVID-19. Incidentally, there were only about five people in the facility. There was never a crowd, even by "social distancing" standards. The male who put me on hold was just sitting there appearing to be doing nothing. I didn't identify myself with him not realizing that I was still on hold. I said nothing. I just observe their unprofessionalism. Also, no one else was waiting outside to get in to ask a question. Nevertheless, I was never tested and very discourage to get tested at this facility.
