This location staff was very unprofessional and rude. I came in as a walk in 30 minutes before closing and was told I had to "leave" instead of being told that I could not be serviced due to closing. The woman who told everyone to leave did it in a rude mannerism. They should have closed/locked their doors instead of kicking people out if they could not knowingly service them. read more

Got an STD panel test (I'm straight - just careful - you should be too) here through STDCheck.com for a fairly cheap $139. Made an appointment with Quest, showed up, got blood drawn/urine sampled quickly by a professional-looking nurse, and left with zero hassle. Partial results already available online a day later, with the rest to presumably arrive as they complete. So much nicer than dealing with judgmental aides at "professional" clinics run by egotistical doctors who think they're God's gift to the world for doing a highly-paid job and being manipulated by insurance companies. read more

I mean it is what it is. Quest Diagnostics is a chain for your various medical tests. I normally come here for blood draws. My experience here have really been hit or miss. First off, I HIGHLY recommend that you make an appointment beforehand. If you're a walk in, wait times can reach up to 2 hours, even on weekdays. (Yes, I've waited 2 hours before as a walk-in.) With appointments, they try to get to you right at your appointment time or as close to it as possible. I've had times where I was in and out within 10 minutes, but I've also had other times where I wasn't called for my appointment for ~20 minutes. I get it. They're really busy, but man... Overall and again, it is what it is. They get the job done. Staff are really nice and they really are super busy. Even though there's multiple locations across the Bay, it seems like there's never enough locations. read more

This laboratory gets interns who works on you and do not check if they are qualified. I brought my son there for a blood test and the intern used the wrong needle size and kept poking his tiny arm because she could not find the vein. I asked her to stop and find someone and her mentor said that is the smallest needle. Thanks to her, my son is afraid of medical assistants and/or nurses. His pediatrician is the only one who can give him shots now as she can actually perform the task wothout hirting him as she knows exactly what she is doing. read more

Lack of humans to take care of incoming patients instead there is a wall of tablets. If you check in with appointment and wait and are not called within an hour, your appointment is cancelled and you have to schedule again as a "walk in" standby and wait. The human employees (phlebotomists) can't help you - it's all a software system that is running the show... poorly. read more

This company is awful. I've spent so long just trying to schedule a test my doctor ordered. Their website wouldn't let me make the appointment. I have e-mailed them about this issue. No response. I've called them. I was given to a robot who didn't understand anything. Finally, I decided to debug it myself and realized that their server is throwing a 500 error when I select the test my doctor ordered, so I e-mailed them again. No response. I tried calling their general customer service hotline. They don't work on Saturdays, so once again I am given a robot. Overall, this has been an awful experience. Having issues is expected, but not answering my initial e-mail after nearly a week is ridiculous. This test is time sensitive and I'm running out of the timeframe. I would give Quest Diagnostics 0/5 stars if I could, but unfortunately 1 is the minimum. read more

They have improved so much since last year! They now have a nice gentleman that works in the waiting room to help people check in. The check in process via phone is now user friendly! And the links work! Yay!! I was shocked when I checked in on my phone and I was seen in less than 2 minutes. I did not even have to sit down in the waiting room. I was literally done in less than 10 minutes even with a urine and blood test. Last year, the ipad check in was unclear, the wait time was easily 1.5 hours (that was with an appointment), you had to keep checking the screen to make sure your name didn't fall off, and the check in phone links never used to work. They move patients much quicker though the line now. I was in and out in 10 minutes at a lab draw center?!? Unheard of!! What an improvement!!! We love the gentleman that helps in the waiting room. I literally had the worst experience here. Keep in mind I am a person who has social anxiety and I already get nervous around social interactions I also have bpd. I greeted the lady very nicely, not sure if she was like middle eastern or Hispanic but she had medium dark hair. she asked me where is your paper? I told her oh I believe I left it in the car, the last time for the same test they said i didn't need it, would you like me to go get it? Yeah she said sarcastically and grumpy! Well I do need it she said!!!!! So I got nervous went through the exit door then when I came back I got yelled at not go through the exit door. This woman was just extremely rude the whole time, I just couldn't wait for this experience to be over at this point while she was speaking to me I just started to get rude with her. But I calmed myself down since this lady was sticking a needle in my arm. What's the type of person you wanna make mad all this is going on so I was being the adult here and just respectfully one about my visit. I just said thank you and all she told me was go do a urine sample and yelled at me hey don't be forgetting your bag and stuff here grab it now! when you go to the restroom and return your sample here for god sake. I just got my stuff left my sample n never returned. Quality care needs to improve drastically. It is literally so disgusting! I don't recommend anyone going to this location. I have actually recommended about 10 different patients to the quest diagnostics on liberty Street. Their customer service is amazing at liberty Street. I don't know what the hell happened on Mowry. I even told the staff at the one on liberty Street because they asked me why did I go further to that location instead of going to one closer to me? I told him their service at Mowry is the worst experience I have ever had. I would give this place zero stars if I could. read more

We took our five year old daughter in for blood work. Routine stuff for a kid going into elementary school. Staff was very friendly, Very patient and we got called in the back ON TIME which is rare for anything medical. I was a walk in so I decided to go early as soon as the opened. I used the self serving kiosk and had a seat. Well after waiting one and a half hour, a nurse came out of the door and called my name. I stood up and made eye contact and began walking towards the nurse only to have her turn around and shut the door in my face. So patiently I took another seat closer to the door where the nurses come out of and when another nurse came out for another patient I politely asked why the nurse walked away before I could reach the door when my name was called. Her response was "Did you have an appointment?". I told her no and she responded "Appointments have priority." So in short I left, went home and registered with Quest Diagnostics and made an appointment. Unfortunately the only time slot was three weeks in the future. I called the 800 number for help on getting a sooner appointment but to no avail. Even after explaining I didn't care how far in California I had to travel, I was willing. read more

A couple of times I had a scheduled appointment and things went fine. But two other times, I came as walk-in and had to walk away after waiting for more than 1.5 hours. Few years back they had a better algorithm to add walk-in appointments on the same list, where you end up at a lower position than some of the others with appointments. That way you knew how many folks are ahead of you and have a predictable wait time. But once they changed the system to standby list, the on screen prompts say it could be 30 to 60 minutes wait, but I have never been successful to get through even after more than 1.5 hours of wait, and had to walk away each time. The trouble is not that you have to wait, but there is no time guarantee of when you would be taken. If they could put the walk-ins lower in the regular list, as if you had a later appointment say after 30 to 60 minutes, then it would still be predictable when you can expect to be served. The current system has no guarantee how long you will wait, because if those with appointments keep arriving, you would potentially be waiting the whole day. It was quite frustrating each time. I would have preferred that the system would have rather not offered the option to walk in, instead of falsely claiming to be served within 30 to 60 minutes. read more

Do not come here unless you have an appointment. This place is super busy and always has a full waiting room. If you really want to do a walk in appointment, at least come at the end of the day but even then, you might end up waiting forever AND a day. Bring a book to read or something to do while you wait for your turn. The only positive aspect is that the phlebotomists are knowledgeable and able to perform the blood collection in a short period of time. read more

Someone please teach them how to do a covid 19 test, Dont beleive me try taking a swab test there. They dont know how to do a covid test instead they tried to do a blood test, had to repeat to them I need for present symptoms which can be detected only with swab test not a blood test which is for post covid to detect anti bodies. still insisted no our blood test can detect present symtoms same as swab test. after I convinced them, it took them over half an hour with there nurses and boss going back and forth in the room telling me to wait. Finally after getting the swab from back asked me to do it yourself. I think quest should better check credentials before hiring them to jobs. Even a kid from high school has better understanding in there field then there nurses. There only job is to poke needles and they are sometimes not good even in doing that. read more

Every single time I come here, there's always complications. I have to fight to get seen for my appointment that I scheduled. The female Indian employee has to be the rudest person I have ever met in the health care system. If anyone has a question, she immediately puts her hand in their face to signal them to be quiet and shuts the door in their face. It was so embarrassing. I'm very upset because this is the closest quest to my house but I'll have to find someplace new. I can't stand being in a room full of 20+ unhappy complaining customers. I tried to help schedule an appointment for a non-English speaking patient. I had some questions about check in. Many of these Quest labs have kiosks and do not have a live person to check you in. The patient can't use the kiosk so I tried calling to see if there will be a person at the facility or a reception area to check him in. Their phone number gives you an automated service with no option to speak to a live human. It keeps referring you to their website or recorded instructions. The patient was going to Uber to the facility but I don't know if there will be anyone there to care for him and assist. Such a horrible experience. read more

I guess I got lucky (from reading some of these reviews). I had an appointment at 11 am this past Thursday. The waiting room had about 10 people. I checked in at the computer screen. Got disconnected after putting in all my info so I had to re-enter everything again. While waiting, I noticed one patient wasn't wearing a mask, so I'm glad she got told to come back with one. Waited 2 minutes and got called in. My lady was training a girl on how to put my info into the computer. That took a few minutes. They were both friendly. I was in and out within 15 minutes tops. Today we had fasting appointment at 8:50 am n we checked in at 8:52 am. The staff denied us and put us to stand by. For next 1 hour nothing in stand by was moving for a blood test. When we asked they are saying it can take 2 hour or more they can not say. Their screen was showing from the time of check in as 30-60 minute waiting. I called the customer care of Quest n found they have 10 minutes of buffer time means till 9 am they are supposed to accept. How can this facility deny the appointment. This is absolutely against humanity and how can they neglect the blood test as Dr is waiting on those for diagnosis or prescription for the patient. I would just give no star rating. I would give it zero stars if I could. This place is a mad house. Unorganized, unwelcoming, and everyone seems like they hate their jobs and don't know what the heck they're doing. I've been to other locations and have had much, much better experiences. And they were even busier! Why do I write this? Because they were not only late, but helping people out of order, regardless of appointment time and then could not even keep track of whether they already did your blood test. I understand not wanting too many people in the clinic, but they couldn't even keep track of the few people that they already checked in while there. And, don't get me started on the 2-hr wait for walk-ins. Really? Thank goodness we had an appointment. Will I be back? NEVER. If you have any choice in the matter, skip this place. My doctor sent me around the corner to this office. It was quite crowded, people sitting inside and standing outside. I waited an hour, during the last 30 minutes the wait board said I was up to be called in 2 minutes. After waiting that last 30 minutes, I left, quite disgusted. The staff workers there are quite rushed but they're also not very nice. I don't have a high regard for Quest labs anyway... Although the Mountain View lab on South Court seems OK. I guess quest diagnostic here at 2191 Mowry Fremont don't care about social distancing outside. People waiting to be called for their blood draw and not social distancing. You can check in on your mobile phone and they will text or call you to go near the clinic once it's your time to be called. We waited in the car and when we were texted we went close to the clinic and this is what we saw. If I have a choice I wouldn't get my blood drawn because of this pandemic but it's needed, so no choice but to be here. I just hope that staffs at quest would be more strict on social distancing with their clients inside and outside their clinic. read more

This review is specifically for Tracy. I went in for a scheduled appointment for routine blood work on a Monday afternoon. I checked-in at the kiosk and waited maybe 10min for my appointment. Tracy was very efficient and thorough in checking my information. Most importantly, she expertly performed my blood test--this is the first time I didn't experience any pain/bruising/lightheadedness/difficulty finding my veins. I regularly get my blood work done every few months and have seen many phlebotomists. This was the smoothest blood test I've experienced yet. Lady who was helping me in room 2 was not very friendly, there was a customer who was 15 min late , i agree he should have been on time it is critical that every one should respect time, but i didn't like her tone , she was acting like a kinder garden teacher, but another agent in next room told her put the customer in room 1 she will help them.i think because he was yelling in the lobby and other agent in room 3 was nice enough to help , she might be a supervisor. Lady who was helping(room 2) me first thing that came out of her mouth - oh you have .... This insurance , why didn't you go there , do you have other insurance? I told why should i have 2 insurance and your system gave me prompt and options of my insurance ..northern....insurance. I am under the impression system dint say i cant use my insurance , i though it will be good , she said you might get charge. She didn't give me the cost , i mean you work there you should know how much the test cost so people are not mislead. And they can leave if they cant afford. She said , she doesn't know- i was already there and i wanted to get tested. But it will be nice to have friendly people and if they share information like you might get bill they should share full info, because website didn't say i can't use your insurance. I have used other services 3 times in past 2 years for test they will bill to insurance Quest is a good company and has good reputation in market but fremont location can use some help on coaching the team specially the lady who helped me is pushing people away ,, she should be coached how to have conversation with people and not yell at them and website should state the cost and other thing like what insurance they accept and not accept so customers are not mislead. Yes i will go back to Quest i have used them for my insurance, guy came to my house and was very professional , on time and respectful so he made my experience great and i used when i have to travel international. I will come back to Quest as they are well know industry , but I will not recommend or will ever come back at the fremont location. *0 STARS* Things to know: -The only reason I came here is because it's extremely close to me but other than that they have awful service. Disclaimer I am familiar with the phlebotomy world because I have close friends who work in this field -there's no one in front to help you check in so you have to use the screen/iPad to check in and then the tv will display your name and place in line - appt are recommended and walk ins are welcomed -I got there at 11:35 -you can leave to be in your car while you wait to be called or stay in the waiting room (I stayed in the waiting room) * my issue is my appointment was for 11:45 and by 11:55 they were taking names that were after me and then suddenly my name disappeared off the screen, so I asked why my name no longer was on the screen and someone told me I'll be called up promptly, by 12:05 I asked another person and she said someone probably called your name but I've sat in the same seat for 30 minutes (because I came in early) and never heard my name called) so she took me in because at this point I was extremely frustrated and she understood that. I disliked how it was so difficult to get a staff members attention or to be acknowledged by them because in the waiting room it's just you and other patients, no staff members were present because they're behind closed doors. These patients are also so ruthless and rude because they are basically trying to elbow their way up to the front of the line and be first on the list. * when I was seated to get my blood drawn I saw my name on the computer screen to confirm it was me and there was no appointment next to my name she had to enter in manually that I was a walk in, this is so frustrating because that means no one called my name out in the waiting room and they skipped me because no one was in the waiting room the first 15 minutes I was there then a huge crowd came in after 11:50 I cannot believe the system they have in place with no type of management and a lack of customer service/customer support. I do not blame any Phlebotomist but I blame Quest's lack of responsibility to understand that they're either understaffed and need a front desk to help with the flow of traffic because this was not my first bad experience with them this is the third time I've come with an appointment and every time I have absolutely had nothing but bad experiences with quest read more

I checked in with my phone and waited in my car for about 3 minutes until I received a text saying I was next in line. As soon as I walk in the phlebotomist greets me and Invites me into a room where she just sees my ID. Then after dropping off my sample I was gone in less than 2 minutes. And there weren't enough chairs for people so sick people and elderly people were just standing or sitting on the ground. I booked an appointment for bloodtest as I had to take because of my Dr wanted to checkup . When I went there the lady who doing my blood test twice put needle in my arm inside and she wasnt able to take out the blood and she knew where she had been putting needle that the nerve was small and I was dehyderated but instead of saying or letting me go still did the second one. I told her that call some other nurse or Dr who can do that but still did the second time. For the third time she called the Dr for it and it was even worst because I could feel that they were moving it inside my arm harshly and the doctors was about to do another time when I just asked them to not do it because rather than feeling okay I felt like they were literally experimenting on me for the first time as its their first time using needle for blood test on the person because the person is not suppose to feel the pain after they insert the needle in the skin and I am pretty sure they should not be putting too much presure on it that the person starts crying in pain . I am have gone to other doctors or nurses for blood test here but today one was the first time I will say the worst time ever. I hope someone look forward to it. read more

I completely agree with the poor overall rating of this place. The nurse that took me in was very nice but completely SUCKED at her job. She poked me 5 times in total on both my arms to draw blood. She put the needle inside and swirled it around to find the clearly visible blue vein. When I complained that it hurt she said my veins were "sideways", which is why she wasn't being able to draw blood. WTF does that even mean, I don't know! I had my blood drawn many, many times in my life but for the first time today I came home with a bruise. A F***ING BRUISE FROM A BLOOD DRAW, which keeps getting worse (see photo)!! My arm hurt and was sore for the rest of the day (similar to when you get a vaccination). Thank God I didn't let her poke me on the back of my palm as she wanted to due to her lack of expertise. On top of that, it was a complete chaos in there. As I went in, I stood there for 5 mins before realising there was an ipad in one corner for people to check in. So old patients who came in after me were able to sign in before me because of lack of organization. Some of the people in there...lets just say I don't ever wanna deal with them ever again. I had good experience in this location. Walk in ok but usually i heard will be a long wait , i made an appointment online one week ahead. The whole process was very smooth, receptionist was very nice to let me in when i was 5mins late. (Over 5mins late have to treat as walk in!) The technician was professional, polite , gentle ,no bruises, overall its fast process when book appointment in advance. Remember to walk straight to sign in on ipad then go to receptionist, show insurance card and the wait time only less than 10mins . read more

I came with my mother in law to a scheduled appt at this location. I received a text message with a link to click on when we arrive, which I did and we were checked in automatically. Within minutes the phlebotomist Gya called us in. Gya was awesome!! She was very patient and professional. We had some labs that had to be done at another center and she thoroughly checked each one and explained the coverage. The best thing is she was so good at finding the vein which had been proven to be so difficult in the past. Sometimes it took several tries and my mother in-law came with horrible bruises. Before we knew it, Gya already found the vein and drew the blood. Gya deserves a 5 star!! read more

I am pretty surprised that there are so many bad reviews of this place. My times here have not been perfect but they have been decent. I've had to do weekly blood tests but always came in around 9AM/10AM. I did not have an appointment set up the times I had to come in but coming in early helped, I never had to wait more than 10/15 minutes. The process is simple enough. You hand the Receptionist the bloodwork paper you have from your doctor/hospital and they scan your insurance card. You then wait for your turn to be called. Whenever I come in I have 2 very different experiences. I am usually always seen by the 2 same people. One is a middle aged, I believe Indian woman. She draws my blood effortlessly and I almost feel no pain. The other is an elder gentleman who never seems to get the needle in right the first time and the rest of my appointment is a bit more painful than the other. Despite the differences, they are always friendly. They can tell if you're nervous and will try to talk you out of it to make your visit more comfortable. Overall, come early when they open or set up an appointment beforehand! Don't come in the late afternoon or weekends or you'll be waiting for a while. read more

0 stars. Came here because my dr ordered labs. They have chairs placed away from each other but do not come and wipe down any seats or any machines that everyone uses. People were walking in with covid and sitting waiting around in the waiting room knowing they had covid with no regard to anyone else. I've gone 3 years without catching the virus and came here for blood work and caught it. I'm 28 weeks pregnant so I was really devastated I had problems breathing the whole time so they were not just mild symptoms. I had a feeling in my heart not to come here and I really wish I would've listened. And it's very selfish and careless for people to fill the waiting room knowing they have the virus but no regard for others health. Disgusting. Completely disgusting. read more
