They took 40 minutes and two people to draw blood. The two ladies spoke their own language I did not understand. They were unable to us the scale properly for my weight without my help. The terrible reviews are valid and I should have avoided this place. Had been once before and it was fine for basic blood draw. This time I came for the one hour blood glucose test (during my 2nd trimester of pregnancy). The ladies said I couldn't leave the building or the room for that matter. I told them I had to step into the hall and make a call. I did not leave the building, did not eat anything and did not exercise etc., but because they couldn't find me in the hall, when I was back right at the hour mark, they wouldn't let me take the bloodwork. I had consumed the nasty, sugar drink all for not. And they just said I should do it again. Like a working Mom has time to just do it again and wait another hour! I was fuming and will not use this place EVER again. The women are obviously not that bright or sympathetic. read more

The worst place I have ever been, really. Always have one staff working and waiting period with or without appointment is a nightmare. The woman who usually works never acknowledges you. You are simply a ghost to her. She has no reaction to anything or anyone. Avoid this place if you want to save time and your frustration. read more

Had to go for an important blood test/panel due to the fact I take various meds that may conflict and some that are making me feel a bit ill. I went to the office first thing in morning, and the DOOR WAS LOCKED! I checked the hours on the door to make sure i wasn't too early; I wasn't....I went to the window that looked in - and had to 'knock' several times on glass to get a person's attention in office! She was on the phone, yacking!!! Then, when this woman finally dragged herself - like it was too much trouble - she opened the door, and simultanously gave me a 'dirty look'....I asked her, as I was signing in, if I offended her by 'knocking' on locked door? She said, no. I asked, then why do you look annoyed at me? She said, with an annoyed tone, "I'm not annoyed"...Ugh...BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE TO SAY THE LEAST. This woman looked like she did not like her job, nor particularly wanted to deal with patients! Well, I don't want to deal with her problem(s) when I have my own! (Quest, is, after all, a diagnositics center)....If she doesn't like her job, get another one...but, have a little 'empathy' for those of us who also don't want to be there to have our blood drawn & be anxious! It does NOT HELP to deal with low-energy, negative people when we arrive!!! read more

Not sure what all the low ratings are about. Came here for my employer wellness screening and was in and out of there in less than 15-20 minutes. Checked-in, was called back 2-3 minutes later. The waiting room was full, so I guess make sure you have an appointment or be prepared to wait. The employee was very nice and helpful, drew my blood with no problems (sometimes my veins can be difficult). Would come back. read more

This place is a disaster. I've come in at 11am fasting for a test and been called at 2:20PM in the afternoon. Never enough staff. Missed tests on the lab slip. And at no time when you call any of the locations can you speak to a real person. You are redirected to a voice prompt that goes on forever and in the end, announces it cannot let you speak to a representative.....please try your call later. I spent 2 hours just trying to get a fax number for my MD to fax a lab slip to and still was not able to speak to a real person or get the fax number. read more

I went to Quest yesterday. 3 people in the office. It took 1 hour to get one blood test because, their computer was down, they could not find my Doctor's script for the test, they could not find my vein on the first try. The test was for a hospital procedure and the hospital requires the test results. There is no was for a regular person i.e. not a Doctor to get Quest on the phone. This is bad policy and poor management. I had to call my Dr.s office to get results to the hospital. Quest executives if you read this please have a way for patients to reach you by phone. read more

This lab is a nightmare. I can drive from Sausalito to Ucsf on Divisadero, get tests, and drive home in less than an hour. It takes easily that long in the lab on Miller to be recognized. Quest needs to staff this lab and have more open hours. I tried to make a reservation, but the first time was three months out. DMV? read more

I was very nervous about getting my blood drawn. I have a history of passing out. The technician was sympathetic and brought me to a special room where I could lay down. She was compassionate and took time to make me feel at ease. Quest's computer system was down, but the service was speedy and I only found myself waiting for a few minutes. Don't waste your time. No one to greet you, and checking in by machine is not so easy. There is only one person there. You wait for a long time in a cramped waiting room while being "entertained" by a Quest infomercial. No soap in the restroom, and this is a medical lab. The person working there, not so pleasant. This place is slow and their expertise in conducting tests (eg the basics, drawing your blood) is not like anything I've ever experienced. I had an extensive set of blood work done here. It is no joke when you have multiple needles sticking in you hand (at various angles) and arm while multiple techs try to take blood. I'll not be returning. I really dislike Quest Diagnostics. I feel they employ deceptive and predatory business practices. With that said, I need to emphasize the phlebotomists are great and very professional. I feel sorry for any employee that has to work for such a horrible company. read more

I have a recurring UTI and was informed by the doctor that the test would be back in four days! When I asked if the infection would not be much worse in 4 days, I got a shrug and the name Quest Diagnostics. Let me predict that unless they hire many more staff, they will have many lawsuits over time taken for tests. A person could go into sepsis in four days! read more

the absolute worst experience of my life by a medical facility. the "lady" supervising the waiting list was simply awful. she called me names while in her "care" in the blood drawing room. absolutely worst employee ever. i would never go back there. when i finally left the back, two ladies separately told me that the lady was being a "bi**h" to me and they were sorry to see that! Went back to show my confirmation email of the 11:10 appointment. Apparently, it goes straight to your junk mail, so be careful or all hell will break loose if you don't bring that paper. There is one very sweet gentleman that works there. I would go back there only if he stuck around. He is the saving grace of that facility. read more

I recently visited Quest at 1300 So.Eliseo. I was fasting and arrived when they opened. It was crowded & the chairs are very close together. After about 45 minutes several patients started to complain about the wait and some left. By that time the misery spread throughout the waiting area, I'm sure everyone longed for a coffee & food. They finally drew my blood 1hr & 15 min. later There was 1 staff doing the paperwork & 1 drawing the blood staff drawing blood. I will never put myself through that again. I would not recommend going there at the peak AM period. Another thing if your MD requests a copy to the patient they almost never do that for me. I have to call them to obtain after I realize its not coming in the mail. It's either incompetence of company policy to try & save & envelope & a stamp. The staff was friendly. I was helped by Clarissa within a very reasonable time frame. I had come in as a walk in and had been expecting that there would be a wait. It wasn't bad at all-literally like 15 minutes. Clarissa was very pleasant and professional. I felt very taken care of. She swiftly answered every question I had and put me at ease. I have been here previously in April and was helped by Phadsam (spelling might be off) who was also very nice and skilled, She as well took great care of me. That time I needed blood titers for hospital volunteer clearance. I feel like the past reviews may have not considered that if you don't have an appointment you may have to wait. That is not an unreasonable situation. The first time I came I had to wait about an hour maybe an hour and a half because appointments did show up but I was seen. And I just brought a book. No biggie. I was treated very well here and I was also friendly and courteous to them as well. That's the way it should be. The staff here does a good job. From reading these reviews it is fairly obvious that most people only post negative reviews. Trust me, I do so when appropriate. I have been going to this lab since it opened and have never had one problem at all. Yes, I likely had to wait 30 minutes one time as a walk in. I was there two months ago and again today. Both were walk-ins and my wait was about 10-12 minutes each time. There is a fair amount of paperwork, so that does take time. It seems to take about 12 minutes to deal with each patient and I saw a total of four today. There were 2-3 phlebotomists back there today drawing blood. This was a Friday morning at about 8AM. I was handled promptly and efficiently at check-in as were the others. Syndia drew my blood (all 5 vials) and was excellent in every way. I would say that my average wait for a doctor's appointment must be 20-30 minutes. Where else can you just walk in the door and and have your blood drawn 15 minutes later? If it was actually 30 minutes would it be that big of a deal? How long do you wait for a drive in oil change? I do have to admit that there is something about the setting that makes people impatient. You can see the looks on their faces. "Am I next?" Possibly it is the mixture of people who have appointments and those who do not. I tried to make an appointment online the morning of and there was nothing until 2PM. I had been fasting so just walked in as I always do. As to the comments about "people just walking around there, doing nothing" again I think you need to realize that there is quite a bit of paperwork that needs to be generated. Each vial has your name on it and which test will be performed on that sample. All of this takes time. Please try to be a bit patient here and do not get your "blood" up and slam this facility. There is not a receptionist sitting there all the time as she is performing other duties. This may add to people's impatience. These are trained people trying to do a good job. Please do not insult them. My experiences there over at least 15 years have always been very positive. Thank you. read more
