Checkin is on a screen, no people. We were a walk-in so expected to wait then our name disappeared off the monitor after we'd already been here for 45 mins. Had to check-in again. I think the only people here are the lab technicians and they say they just follow what is on their computer. Lab tech very friendly though. Will look somewhere else next time for bloodwork. read more

Thanks to the incompetence of this center, we haven't been able to determine if my daughter has a shellfish allergy despite getting her blood drawn here over a month ago on April 18th. I took my daughter here for an allergy panel blood testing that her pediatrician ordered. The phlebotomist that serviced us was rude, unprofessional, dishonest, and incompetent. She was unable to get a good sample from my daughter and even though she mentioned it was because the vein was rolling to her colleagues she lied to me to save her self by deflecting on me that my daughter was dehydrated. This is untrue. Her pediatrician said she was well-hydrated at her 18 month checkup earlier that day. So after poking both of my daughter's arms for a half hour, she said she wasn't able to get enough blood to ensure they can do the test. I said OK that can happen and asked if they could call me if I had to come back in because this was very important. They said of course. Well they never did that. I just took my daughter to the pediatrician that ordered the test and they said they never heard from quest. They never contacted me either. Completely unprofessional. To top it all off, they won't answer my calls and their mailbox is full so I can't leave a message. I honestly think that going to this center is disadvantageous to your health and the health of your children. I hope whoever is in charge hires better staff and gets this center organized for the well-being of their patients. read more

Scheduled appointment for 9:30. Check in kiosk did not recognize the information, fortunately, when we used the text link the check in processed. We then waited for 30 minutes. Technician was polite and friendly. Wasting my time is the issue. The whole appointment / check in process is automated. If you're short staffed notify your appointments automatically so they can reschedule as needed. read more

I prefer this location in Lombard compared to other quests I have been too it's easy to schedule your appointment on the app and you are IN AND OUT! I had Francine today and she is the best! I hate getting my blood drawn and have had issues in the past with phlebotomists finding a vein but she's great and I didn't even feel anything! Very professional and she was very nice! read more

I had a very positive experience today. Received reminders beforehand (very helpful) and I could wait in my car or inside after I checked in by text. Francine did a great job with my blood draws and everything went smoothly. From arriving to leaving, it took 15 minutes. Thanks ! read more

I went to Quest in Lombard 340 West North avenue and it was horrible. I made an appointment and went there 3 times and returned home with no urine drug test. my employer gave me a confirmation from Quest with a scan code that would produce the paperwork they needed to proceed, and they refused to do anything to help me get processed and taken care of. They just want to blindly do what they've always done and not help with any new processes. The women there should not working with the public if they generally hate people. BAD! stay away! read more

Been having regular lab testing done at the Quest Diagnostics Lombard - Highland Ave. location for my transplant for several years. The technicians are skilled at drawing, you can reserve appointments online, but wait times generally are short, and customer service is excellent. Chris in particular is outstanding. read more

I just wanted to compliment Fran, the phlebotomist that drew my blood. She not only was quick and efficient but I literally didn't feel the needle. Great job! 5 stars for Fran. I was going to give 4 stars because I had scheduled my appointment and had to wait 20 minutes past my appointment time. To be honest that's not a long wait for medical tests. I like their online system for scheduling appointments and their no contact check in when you use the online features. Definitely will go back if needed. read more

Turning left off of Highland can be an adventure, and the signage isn't great. But unless you're here around lunch they'll pretty much get you in and out, and the phlebotomists are good; the needle stick hardly hurts at all. I've usually come in without an appointment. I haven't had any billing issues. read more

I've gone to Quest for years. My insurance dictates that I go her to get lab work done. Most of the time, my treatment with Quest has been average. But when it comes to everything else surrounding Quest...my experience has been incredibly frustrating, to say the least. Here are some of the issues: (1) takes WAY too long to get lab work/urine analysis done; on average, it takes about 20 to 25 minutes to get serviced--and this is if you're the only person in the clinic! (2) the check-in service is literally a robot, an iPad; there isn't a single human being anywhere within sight, and this goes for the entire time you're there, right up until someone 'bursts' out of the locked door leading to the back and tells your name; there is a desk at the front of the place where I go, but it literally has a window shade pulled completely down covering any visual access to the back; (3) the check-in tablet has never worked right; every time I've tried to use a so-called shortcut to check in, usually generated by Quest, they never work. And this is just three main problems with Quest. There are many more. But what grinds my gears the most is the incredible slowness and overall apathy of the employees. I cringe whenever I have to go there. read more

DO NOT go to this lab!!! I got blood draw in this lab in November, the nurse hit my nerve. It was a very sharp pain that transfer from my arm to my finger. For the next 4 months, I can't grab or lift anything. I was in pain everyday and I began to collect evidence to sue them. As I am getting a little better now, I am not going to sue them, but I want to warn everyone going to this location that you'll be hit the nerve too. There are two things at least the nurse is doing wrong. First, she inserted the needle in me in the more than 45 degree position instead of flat; second, when I scream very loud, she told me to shut up and it is very normal. This is not normal at all for a person to suffer almost 6 months. And I am not sure it is a permanent damage or not. DO NOT come here!! read more

We came here based upon the stellar review from Josy W. And, boy, we're we glad we did! As you can imagine, we were quite nervous to bring our 9 month old into a lab to have blood work done. He has had severe reactions to milk-based products and his pediatrician ordered a food panel blood draw. We heard nothing but horror stories from other parents about their experiences getting this type of test done (I'd like to add that none of the parents came here for their children's test). Honestly, there was nothing for us to be nervous about. Jasmine was our nurse and she put our minds at ease the second we sat down in the chair. She told us exactly what she was going to do and how she was going to do it. She checked both of our son's arms to see which vein she could draw the blood from beforehand. Jasmine had us sing a song to distract him as she proceeded with her work. It's important to add that she used a tiny needle to draw the blood, not an "adult-sized" needle. After the experience was over, she gave our son stickers to make him smile. She was pleasant, caring, and helpful through the entire process. Thanks, Jasmine! read more

The lady who drew my blood was super rude. The whole process was rushed and I couldn't even tell her I couldn't provide a urine sample because she ran away as soon as she brought me to the bathroom and after that I couldn't find her. read more

I made an appointment and received a confirmation number. I showed up at the appointed time. I was asked about payment and told I had to pay in advance of the appointment. There was no mention of this when I received my online confirmation number. The woman said she could not accept payment and gave a card with a number to call, which I did. I was told I could not pay over the phone and that all Quest locations accept payment. I told this to the woman and a man also working at the Lombard location. Some discussion ending with the man saying he "was sorry I felt that way." This comment is snide, smug and condescending -- a total b.s. comment designed to insult patients. A total waste of time. It should not be difficult to pay for a service. read more

I was at Quest this morning waiting for 45 minutes while the lab tec let 3 walk ins go in front of me and 2 other patients. The lab tec then argued with the other patients waiting that she had called their names and they musn't have heard her....which was not the case...she never called their names. Long story short, I waited 45 minutes and when the lab tec told me I may not get in for another 4 hours I walked out going to ACL labs at Good Sam in Downers Grove....they are great!! read more

Came back in for yearly blood work today and had the pleasure of seeing Rachel. She was amazing! I didn't even feel a thing!! My visit was smooth and painless!! In the door and back out to my car in less than 10 minutes, without an appointment. Thanks Rachel!!! read more

I used to go to this lab all the time, but I can't anymore. Management has decided not to do certain tests at certain times of the day. There is a sign on the door about this. The place is empty first thing in the morning, and even if I'm there at 7:30 and I'm the only patient there, which is typical at 7:30, they will not take me and I would have to wait until 9:30. Just because, I guess, because all the other quests do any available testing during their normal operating hours. Now I have to go out of my way to go somewhere else, for no reason. It looks discriminatory to me. It doesn't make sense to turn people away when there's no one else there. Why, so I can come back at a busier time and slow everything down more? Not a logical business decision. read more

It was awful. I drove 1 hour each way. Doctor was facing order arrived at 4:02 they said it was late 2 minutes. It was the insurance. I sat there 50 minutes while the room filled with covid antibody patients. They should be reported. read more

I'm happy I tried this lab out before judging. Reading the comments were awful. The employees were professional. I had a lady name fran and she was Phenomenal. Her techniques were perfect. I'm a hard stick. My dr , the nurses ,and medical assistant tried to draw me 6xs. At ques, One stick ,great conversation, and I like that fact they have easy pay. I'll recommend this lab. Despite the fact that they say they do pediatric testing, the tech that we worked with was horrible with kids. The tech had no bedside manner or friendliness despite the fact that I had a terrified 5 year old. He explained nothing to me and asked for my credit card before he even told me the total (and I have BCBS PPO. Traumatizing experience for my 5 year old which could have been made a lot better by a tech who seemed like they even cared. Will not be returning. read more

Your doctor may have a contract with Quest to run tests on your blood or urine or whatever you've had taken from you, but if you have a choice to have it sent to the nearby hospital, go for it. Quest makes a lot of data entry errors, so I've spent a lot of time on the phone with them (with some of the worst educated customer service people), and they wont bill secondary insurance companies. They have made so many errors on my bills and send out so many statements, there's no way they can be turning a profit. Once I had a balance after insurance payment of $1.40. The lady who drew my labs last week was SO nice. I wish I had gotten her name. First of all, I showed up at 3:45, not knowing that they take their last patient at 3:30. The lady was so polite, didn't even mention that I was late, and took me back to draw my blood anyway. I had had a horrible week and unexpectedly running into a super kind person totally turned it around. Not only was she nice, but when I called Quest's main number to have my lab results expedited, they were super accommodating and faxed my labs to me that same day. read more

Do not waste your time. Not open at times posted. Closed Saturdays. We've been here three times before 4pm which is the closing time and they are locked up and gone. Each time their were several other people that arrived for testing as well. They do not anawer their phone and do not return your call if you leave a message. Horrble and unacceptable. They are messing with peoples health and lives. read more

I have a terrible time with needles, admittedly. I let the nurse know this and she led me to a room with a table to lie down on. Per my request, I looked away, and she let me know when it was over which made it so much easier. The bedside manner was top-notch, and I was able to walk out of there in a couple of minutes after the draws were complete. (Usually I have to wait at least ten minutes from feeling dizzy and disoriented.) If I need any further work-ups in the future, I will definitely return to Quest. read more

We recently went back to Quest to have blood drawn from my now 3 year old son. When I scheduled the appointment, I asked for Jasmine but was told that she no longer works full time in this location - that instead she now floats between locations. I was disappointed but wasn't surprised as it has been almost 2 years since we saw her last. I must say our experience this time around was nowhere near great. Two nurses prepped my son for the blood draw and were somewhat friendly at first. After having the elastic tied tightly around his arm, my son began to get hysterical and made it very difficult for them to draw blood from his arm. I tried to calm him but was rather unsuccessful. He was crying so hard and trying to pull away that the needle came out of his vein, so they had to try a second time in his other arm which led to more crying and hysterics from my son. The second time they were able to keep the needle in place and fill the vial they needed. So, needless to say my son was definitely not a cooperative patient. Admittedly he was hysterical and a pain in the butt. But neither of the nurses were very friendly during the 15 minute ordeal. In fact, they both seemed rather irritated with my son that he was crying and had made a big enough disruption to mess up the first draw. I completely understand that he wasn't a real treat to deal with but I feel like that kind of goes with the territory - needles, blood, 3 year olds - probably not always going to be a great experience. One nurse spoke maybe two words to my son the entire time and the other was just short of scolding him for not holding still and causing us to have to try again in the second arm. All in all, we got the blood drawn and it probably wouldn't have been a great experience no matter where we would have had it done based on my son's reaction, but I was not a fan of the bedside manner of either of the nurses that administered his blood work. Even though it's location is super convenient, we probably won't return. read more
