Ms. Kia, did a terrible job taking blood, immediate nerve pain when she stuck the needle in. The entire procedure was very rushed for no apparent reason. Her lack of empathy was appalling, someone like that shouldnt be in the medical proffession in any regard. Arm has never felt like this nerve pain has stayed even worse it seems. read more

GRUESOME (See Pic - but viewer is advised...) Previous Years: Consistent Expertise - For over 16 years I've had semi-annual blood draws here and the phlebotomists were so skilled it was always fast and just mildly uncomfortable. Past Year: Skill Deterioration - Unnecessarily long and painful - since Ida the competence level has dropped considerably; - In November of 2022 the draw was so arduous I became faint and had to sit for 15 minutes before I was allowed to walk out. Past Week: Gruesomely Unhygenic 1. She stuck me 3 times to find a vein. Mine have ways been very prominent so it was just amateurish; 2. She ripped each tube off digging the needle deeper; 3. Quest has a very easy and convenient process which I truly appreciate! I made an appointment online and filled out all of my information. I had to cancel my appointment so, the following day I decided to show up as a walk-in. There are 3 tablets for signing in, but when I visited there was no one at the front desk to assist those who aren't tech savvy. Check in process took 15 seconds and my wait time was less than 10 minutes. There were maybe 7 people ahead of me for various things, and there's a monitor in the wait room so you can see how long your wait is. Patients with appointments have priority, but this did not make the wait time any longer. I came in with my notes from my doctor and the nurse was able to take the blood draw. In total, I was out in ~30 minutes as a walk in. Easy peasy lemon squeezy! You can create a profile on Quest to receive your results and have them shared with your healthcare provider. I went in on Monday, and received my results online on Wednesday. The results shared were pretty comprehensive and easy to understand-- coming from someone who has NO medical literacy. Not only can you be referred here by your medical professional you can also choose your own tests and screenings such as glucose, drug screening, etc. I definitely look forward to coming here again. read more

No one likes blood work but this spot is quick and makes the bloodletting relatively painless. I showed up. Handed them the orders from my doctor's office. Waited, maybe 2 minutes and that was it. The person drawing blood was friendly and did a good job of distraction while she found a vein with her sharp. Then a couple of vials later, done. The absolute worst. Avoid them as much as possible. LabCorp is in the same building two floors down. Went there today to have some scheduled tests run. Didn't make an appointment. Apparently I got the last one for the day. There were two people in the waiting room and it took 30 minutes for them to call me. Meantime, they were telling people to leave because you have to make an appointment now. Apparently this is a new policy for REASONS. Stop blaming your crappy service on the pandemic. They sent a clearly very ill old man away and told him to come back tomorrow. He was pretty upset (in retrospect I should've given him my time slot). They treated him like trash. Then I get in the room and the tests my doctor ordered three weeks ago are nowhere to be found. "Can you please call them?" and she looks at me like I asked her to do something inappropriate. "No. You have to call them! I don't have their number!" Do not go here. They are terrible people. I had the doctor re-send the test request to LabCorp. read more

Third time's a charm. This round I found metered parking. Used the app to put 20 minutes on the clock and headed up to get some blood sucked out of my arm. I was running about 15 min late for the appointment I made on the handy dandy website. ((Never make a Monday appt with me before 9am)) I got there and probably only waited 10ish minutes in the waiting room if that before being called back. Due Date was on the TV with Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis...interesting choice for an early Monday watch but whatevs...Remember, don't try and open the door, they'll open it for you. I didn't get the name of the nurse but she was very nice. I told her I had made an appt online and she said that appts get preference on time though I told her I had been late so it was my own fault. Just an FYI for all you Yelpers. I didn't have my paperwork but she easily found it in their system. Once the deed of vampiring my blood out of my arm needed to be done, she did it quick and as painlessly as possible. No ScoobyDoo bandaid but I'm sure the cotton and tape she strapped on probably applies a better pressure to my arm booboo. Again, I do bruise like a peach and a day later there is the faintest of bruises but thankfully I'm nowhere near an arm stand-in for Requiem for a Dream II. In and out of there in less than 20 minutes. No fainting or queasiness or admitting to the nurse that I'm a gigantic baby when it comes to getting my blood taken. Long long wait times + so so staff = if you can, find another location I have had to go here a bunch recently and I am constantly blown away by the wait times (when you can obviously hear people chatting behind the scenes) and the staff that really don't seem to want to be there. Once you get in they are really quick, but plan on being there for an hour even if the waiting room looks empty. I hear the one on the west bank is much faster. If you look through my reviews, I am not a person that writes hate reviews or gets off on "critiquing" everything. I have had decent experiences with Quest in a few states for years and nothing ever like this. It was a little depressing, there were clearly people really sick in there and the staff seemed like they really didn't want to be there. One woman had a question and the lady just ignored her. I thought maybe the woman was someone who goes a lot and is difficult. She mentioned that the place is slow as hell, till its time to go to lunch or go home and then suddenly get very efficient, so I had come at a pretty good time. My wait was not unreasonable, but some there before me were still waiting, I felt bad about that but don't know what they were there for. Sometimes the instant someone looks at you, you can tell they are bored and rolling their eyes. Esp in New Orleans, anything like rudeness is almost unheard of, so that was a little surprising. They had recently changed their codes and thought it was my job (sick and faint as I was) to run back to my doctors office and then race back before closing. I didn't SAY this, but if THEY had changed their codes recently it would seem THEY would be the ones to know what they'd been changed to, and certainly not MY problem. But I raced back to my doctors office, rushed back in really severe heat and as I got to the door (4:59!) I literally felt the lock turn as I was going to turn the door. I had already been there, so just needed to hand it to them. I wrapped on the door as whomever just locked it had to still be there. I didn't need them to do any actual work. So I placed it through the letter box and figured I'd call in the morning. They next day they called saying I had not used "correct protocol" and I reminded them I had been there 45 mins prior to closing and only left because of THEIR new codes they couldn't seem to figure out on their own. The lady I spoke to insisted I was banging on the door LATE (it was not late, I'm sure it was later than they wanted someone coming in for a test but I was just dropping off a throat swab that had been taken elsewhere), then said she knew it was me because she was THERE when I showed up. If you know the layout of the place, there's a fairly large lobby before you get to any work area, so to claim the door had not just been locked, that I came in late, and that she KNOWS it was me when I don't believe she can see through a door was ridiculous. But I just needed to know if they needed me to come back. I was not surprised to hear no. They just said my not using the "correct protocol" could result in a false positive. Which I know almost NOTHING about labs but is a complete crock of shit. I specimen being collected incorrectly (which this was not) would if anything, show up false negative because it had been stored out too long etc. Not a false positive. I didn't realize till then how spoiled and fortunate I am to live in a place where people are really quite competent and ALWAYS extremely polite, even in situations where the person they are dealing with is not. It took encountering two people that clearly can't stand their job or the public to make me appreciate how rare a bad experience like this is. read more

I went in to get a glucose test done. I ended up having to time myself. The staff is rude, and the lady taking my blood jammed the needle through my arm. I don't bruise easily but ended up with a two inch bruise on my arm. They seem as if they hate their job and are doing you a favor for even being there. My over all experience with this location was horrible. I would suggest finding another location. read more

Poor customer service and bad attitudes all around. I went to Quest on Prytania to get a routine pre-employment drug screen. From the instant I walked in the door, the middle-aged lady that worked there was rude, curt, and condescending. I had a question about what additional forms were required because my forms weren't adequate. She told me that she didn't know so I asked to speak to someone else who might know. She sassily replied that "no one else would be able to answer my question" either "because they all had the same level of experience". After I insisted, she brought in another young lady who answered my question in a polite and informative manner, but as the young lady was explaining the policy Sassy woman #1 glared and rolled her eyes at me the entire time. To boot, Nurse Sass began talking about me loudly before I walked out of the door! If you value courtesy and professionalism, seek testing elsewhere! read more
