Quest on Riverdale avenue. The technician couldn't get the blood into the tube Why? Because it Bled all over my Arm and the Armrest!!

I had an appointment for my son. He was promptly seen and we were in and out in under 10 minutes, which is pretty amazing. I have had to get my blood drawn in public and private hospitals and doctor's offices around the world and have never had a more efficient experience. That patient portal is also easy to use and your reports are available in three different degrees of detail, which is very useful. That said, there are a number of areas of improvement: 1. Signage: You can not enter from Lockwood Avenue. The driveway is chained on that side. You have to enter from Van Guilder Avenue; 2. Reception: There was no staff. A scanner automatically scans your insurance information. The decor/ ambience is not what one would expect of any healthcare facility. It can only be described as grungy. i'm not sure what can be done to improve the space as the building itself looks pretty run-down, too; and 3. Training: The nurse who did the blood work seemed frazzled and overworked. She seemed to be the only person on staff present and had to juggle calling in patients, drawing blood, and entering the data. Perhaps the appointments are scheduled too closely together, but investing in your staff so that they can work with a smile is good business sense. You want motivated employees to not just work quickly, but minimize errors. read more

Unfortunately the Quest lab i usually go to in Bronxville closed down. I decided to go to the location nearest to me...New Rochelle and I am so sorry i did. As a cancer survivor i had my blood drawn tons of times and never had a problem. I need to do this every six months. I told and showed the tec the vain that usually gets used but she did not listen so i bled and bled:( i have the biggest hematoma. and discomfort, due to her ego. Unprofessional and lacked skills. I came to this Quest Diagnostics in New Rochelle and I was informed by the technician that they do not accept walk-ins, although their check-in kiosk have that option. They should take out this option from their check-in kiosk and also put this information in their website so people are informed before coming. Very bad practice and unprofessional. read more

Not too much to say, other than I came here for a drug test for a new job. I made the appointment online and chose this Quest (there are other locations) since parking would be a little easier for me. Some locations do take walk-ins as well, but I wanted the added insurance of an appointment. When I arrived, there was hardly anyone else inside the waiting room and when I signed in, I was the only one who filled out the appointment slot. Drug test was handled professionally. I don't do drugs, so I had nothing to worry about. If you're unable to "perform", there is a water cooler inside to help. There are some decent magazine selections and a TV inside the large waiting room. The elevator to this building is so slow, that you could slowly walk to and from the third floor faster with the stairs than this elevator would take you. There is a parking lot, but no sure of the charge if any. You could likely find street parking in the vicinity, but just make sure you read the street signs for alternate side days. read more

HORRIBLE. Do not do it to yourself. No signage that they close for lunch from 12-12:30. When you call the number it is for a facility in a different state. Then the staff saunter I when they want. I visited Quest, located at 3765 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx N.Y. last week. My doctor requested that I do a 24 hour urine test. I needed a specific receptacle for the collection. Upon entering the office, I was treated very disrespectfully by the woman who was on staff. I left and visited Quest Diagnostics located at 280 Dobbs Ferry Road, White Plains. What a difference! The woman in charge, Annette, was as lovely as can be. She immediately gave me the receptacle. No attitude, and very respectful. I went back days later for a series of blood tests. Annette took my blood in the most competent manner possible, and again was as lovely and professional as can be. This is where people should go if you need these services. It was worth the ride from Riverdale. The office was clean and observed Covid restrictions. read more

This is my second time at the New Rochelle QD. The staff is efficient and kind. As my blood word required fasting, after the test the person who assisted me asked me how I was feeling and if I had anything to eat. She offered me sugared water and provided directions to a nearby pharmacy to get juice and something to eat. I found the personnel of this laboratory extremely thoughtful and kind. I showed up for my appointment on time, 3:45 pm and text them, received back text telling me I can wait in the car for them to call me when ready to come in, After five minutes and not hearing from them I went up to the office and when I got to the open door there was three people on line at the front desk. Each person was behind each other about three feet waiting and the last person ended up a on the inside of the door threshold, so I waited behind him a few feet which was in the front of the door in the hallway with my prescription in my hand. I could see the receptionist at the desk showing an attitude to the people. I was waiting for about 5 minutes, line wasn't moving and then the receptionist walks up to the front door, looks at me and slams the door shut in my face and locked me out. I knocked for a while and she didn't open the door, so i continued to knock harder for a while non stop until after five minutes she opened the side door and started screaming at me annoyed I was knocking. I was so upset and nervous and asked her why she slammed the door in my face when she saw me standing there. She said I should have came in the office, and it was my fault , so I tried to explain to her that I had to wait behind the last person but she had such an attitude and I called her a "bitch", and then she threatened me that now I will not be allowed in ever for any testing, we stated arguing and at one point she body slammed me. HER NAME IS MIA and this is in the New Rochelle, NY office and I filled a report against her and are waiting for a call back and I am taking this further. read more

I had a routine test done in mid October 2018, came with my doctors script for all blood tests to be done. Waited only a few minutes to register for the work to be done. A few minutes more before I was taken to have my blood drawn. The tech was polite, very nice and easy. BUT, they never sent the results to my doctor. Now writing this 6 weeks after the testing and even signed up for the web site availability to get my results. NO RESULTS were found! Worst experience at this Quest. Do not go here. The staff was rude and unfriendly from the moment I walked in the door. The technician also dropped the vials with blood, kept jabbing the needle when she went to grab stuff and started screaming to her colleague while working on me. Further, as a healthcare provider, she stated things to me about the bloodwork that was 100% inaccurate. I do not trust the level of care I got here and will never go back. I left this place feeling like I wish I never came. Long wait, be prepared and if your not exactly on time they consider you a walk-in. Which means wait even longer. Woman took my blood was not careful, hard to miss my big veins but she did, caused a bubble under my skin and blamed it on me for not holding the gauze in the right place. Unbelievable! I'm still in pain days later. Never coming to this place again. read more
