She told me she needed it signed otherwise would get written up. She offered to email the documents to me. I was disapppointed and upset she breached confidentiality by sending me the documents that had PHI through her personal email. I did not sign and send it back because of the violation of the confidentiality. I have been going to Quest Diagnostics for over 2 decades and have never had an issue. This was the first time I visited this location and was extremely disappointed.

You're not reviewing the individual phlebotomist, if your phlebotomist is a bad needle navigator it's not Quest Diagnostics fault, complain to the manager so that bad phlebotomist can get remedial education or terminated. Don't be afraid to ask for someone else if they don't get a good draw on the first stick. Today I had a very good experience at Quest and will recommend this location to others. Checkin/Waiting Area: The checkin process is akin to an airline checkin kiosk. It's convenient and feels natural. It doesn't give a clinical feel. The waiting area is clean and clear of clutter and comfortable. Don't expect a long wait if you have a pre registered appointment, come 15 minutes before your appointment and scan in. I was called before my actual appointment time due to the pre registered status. Procedure Areas: The procedure rooms are well appointed for phlebotomy and lab procedures on all age groups. They have every type of needle and variant to make for a comfortable blood retrieval experience. Urinalysis retrieval is similar, they have well appointed toilet rooms. One of the bathroom doors needs servicing but it's fine since it's in a private bath hall with two bathrooms in parallel separated by a large urinalysis retrieval lab room. I would recommend that each toilet room get its own waste basket, currently the waste baskets are outside of each room. Billing: No rating given due to Medicare coverage. Automatic pass.

Have had other offices ask me my name ask me everything as if they never saw me before. Tired of being treated like a random number. This office has the feel of a small family run business but the versatility of having a large corporate backing to get top notch equipment in the office. Today needed blood & papers for an upcoming procedure. They said they didn't have the papers, my other doctors office gave them faulty info, we left. I called the other office in the car en route another stop, managed to sort them out and have it faxed over to the clinic. Stopped at the clinic on the way home and they managed to squeeze in a few minutes with a nurse to grab the blood and a flash with the doctor to do the paperwork even though I was well past my appointment time today because the other office didn't send the papers to the right office. They'll go above and beyond to get things done if they can logistically handle it. Blood collection was easy and the nurse had my preferred type and gauge of needle, I know what needle my veins are good with because of how many blood drawings and procedural IV lines I have in a year. The overall clinic is a 5/5 except for when you have to do after hours answering service call ins. They tend to be a bit unreliable at getting the physician to phone back but they do eventually work after some prodding. Maybe the company will switch answering service vendors if they see more complaints about answering service problems.

And, going to a lab at a hospital means long waits and a higher cost. A friend suggested this and I think this will be where I do my blood work from now on. I arrived before they opened - I wanted to be the first in, and first out. The only issue I encountered was the phlebotomist wasn't ready until about 25 minutes after they opened. I didn't ask why - I was heads down going through my work email while waiting and didn't realize how much time passed. A compliment to the phlebotomist (whose name I don't recall) - the stick was painless. That is something special. The waiting room is large, and there were only two of us waiting. I don't know what that means as it gets later in the day. Does it fill up and lead to a wait? I have no idea, and don't expect I'll find out. I'll stick with arriving when they open.

I was told that they "shouldn't really be called appointments" because they take walk-ins ahead of scheduled times and that delays can't be controlled since it's an urgent care. Why are you taking walk-ins ahead of scheduled "appointments"??? If that's the case, then why offer appointments at all? I left work early and took my son out of school to make this appointment--time that cost our family money and took away from his academics. To then be told we will be waiting another two hours at least is beyond frustrating. Now we're scrambling to find another option for his physical on short notice. They even suggested coming back at 8:00 PM, but wouldn't guarantee we would face the same two-hour wait again. When I asked why the delay wasn't communicated ahead of time by calling ahead of our scheduled time, I was told "they don't do that." When I asked why this wasn't shared with me at check-in, I didn't receive an answer, I was told 'it's urgent care'. When I requested a refund for the $60 sports physical, I was handed a folded piece of paper that turned out to be a receipt--not a refund. I had to go back in and ask again. They then voided the payment and provided updated documentation, but at this point I have little confidence it was handled properly and will be monitoring my account. The lack of communication, accountability, and respect for patients' time was extremely frustrating. I scheduled the appointment, followed the instructions, picked up my brother and went to the Arlington Heights office. My brother has a difficult time with medical facilities, so it is challenging to say the least, but with some patience we always get it done-just requires some patience. I was told I needed to take the urine testing box home and complete it there and return another day to drop off. I explained I would prefer to complete it at the facility to avoid further trauma and anxiety to my brother and another trip. Tech repeated needs to be done at home, despite being given different information from customer service. My brother was gagging because he sensed my frustration, but I explained with my help, I could get the urine sample and would prefer to get it done that day. One of the woman even went to the extreme of saying so many people go in and out of the restroom and it may not be as clean as it would be to it at home. I gasped and repeated asking if cleaned after each patient. She replied yes, but concluded it would be better to do it at home. Clearly, we were the last appointment of the day and with my brother being special needs they believed leaving at closing time, 3pm wouldn't happen. I was confident and have collected urine samples for my brother before. I was extremely upset and frustrated because it was crystal clear customer service was not the priority here, but leaving at closing time was. Shame on these three women for turning us away instead of assisting and making life a little easier. I did report to Quest leadership and I hope it is addressed accordingly. I will never visit Quest again after this experience.
