I feel compelled to share what happened to my son and me at the Quest Diagnostics location we were referred to for his blood work, not once, but twice. This morning was absolutely heartbreaking. The technician attempting to draw his blood was not only incompetent, poking him multiple times without success, but also extremely rude and unprofessional. She kept yelling, "Other patients are waiting outside", and repeatedly shouted at my son, saying "IF YOU MOVE, IT WILL TAKE FOREVER." My son was not moving at all, he remained calm and simply asked how long it would take. He's mature and fully understands how blood work is done. But her aggression, impatience, and complete lack of compassion made the experience traumatic for both of us. Eventually, she gave up and told us to come back another day - WITHOUT COMPLETING THE BLOOD DRAW. Sadly, this was our second horrible experience at Quest Diagnostics. Last year, a different technician also failed multiple times to draw his blood and sent us away. In contrast, other labs we've used in Chicago have been amazing, professional, patient, and experienced with kids. Never a single issue. It's deeply upsetting that some families are forced to rely on a facility where children are treated with such disregard and cruelty. Parents deserve better, and so do our kids. No child should be yelled at or mistreated during a medical procedure.If your child needs lab work, I strongly encourage you to explore other, more compassionate/professional options. Been coming to this location for a year now. My dr has given me the same form for bloodwork each time (at least 4 or 5) and all of a sudden they can't accept the form without the doctor office address and phone number? Something I can simply tell them since they have to type in manually anyways. Waste of PTO and waste of a fast. A complete waste of time. read more

Don't go here. They will treat you like a criminal and pass judgement - I went here for a drug test before getting a job, something that I've done with many other jobs many times. Had an appointment this past Saturday 10/7 for a blood test. Upon my arrival, I found a makeshift sign on the front door stating Quest was closed for the day. Despite my appointment having been made more than a week prior, I received no phone call, no email, no text informing me know they would be closed. Did I mention I drove a half hour for nothing? I have been to this location in the past and the service was great but today 8/26/2023 this staff was atrocious! They have appointments set and make us wait for hours then tell everyone they don't want to be there all night and can not honor anyone's appointments. I hate going to this place. I never have good experiences here, but this week took the cake. I was really really sick and driving 20 min. to Quest was the longest I hadn't been in bed in 48h. They gave me the stuff necessary for a stool sample but wouldn't let me use a bathroom in the building to just do it there, nor did they give me any written instructions. So I had to drive another 20 min. home, feeling my stomach doing summersaults at every block, and then I couldn't remember exactly what I was supposed to do with the 3 different jars they'd given me without instructions. I called and got a message that Quest's voice mail was full, and nobody picked up. I did my best and drove back, to discover that I had done it incorrectly. Again, they sent me home. They wouldn't let me just take the last test right there in the building. To add insult to injury, I got a reprimand for not being a better listener when they'd explained how it should be done. Do they not understand how sick people's brains work? I was nervous and exhausted and incredibly nauseous and I'd never done it before and eeeeevery other medical place gives you written instructions AND picks up their phone when you call! Come on! When I explained that I had tried calling and had been told the mailbox was full the person simply said "No it isn't full." like I was lying. How on earth would she know anyway-- she wasn't working behind the desk; she was a phlebotomist or something. Ugh. Anyway so back home I go AGAIN. Another 40 min. round trip, more driving, more stairs, with a lurching stomach, and finally I finish up at Quest. The icing on the cake of my day was a person in the waiting room taking off her mask to talk on the phone :facepalm:. You'd think Quest would wanna minimize risk by just letting me get it all done in one shot and leave and not keep exposing me to the waiting room every single time. It takes less than 1 minute to get a stool sample-- it is totally ridiculous to make a sick person drive home for it when the whole reason they came in the first place is because they are sick and shouldn't be driving anywhere! Quest could've improved my experience by a) letting me do the whole thing in the building b) printing instructions c) not reprimanding a sick person for being fuzzy on how to follow unwritten instructions they've only heard once in their life d) answering their phone e) not having a full mailbox f) trusting a patient when they say the mailbox was in fact full I hate this place. read more

I called ahead to reserve a spot for a general blood test through employers insurance - if you're healthy, you get a break! Upon arrival, maybe 10 minutes before, the waiting room had 4 other people in it. There is enough space to spread out and "social distance", and plenty of hand sanitizer on hand. The check-in process was via tablet, and super easy. I was called almost exactly on time, ending up sitting down for maybe 5 minutes by the time I figured out the check-in process, sanitized, and read some of their signs. Not much of a wait! Technician was friendly and efficient, and now that all is done (results received), the full process from reservation to results, was great! This location has also refined their process the past couple years. Previously, for annual checkup bloodwork, I would have to wait a while. Now, the past two visits (and especially this last one), things are much smoother! read more

Another successful appointment at this location. They now have a electronic sign-in pad like they do at the airports. I didn't receive a barcode to show that I made a reservation, but luckily I came early to check-in just in case I ran into an issue like before. I was seen on time and left within 5 minutes. These people are so rude, disorganized and unbearable to deal with. I witnessed several staff members disrespecting and raising their voices at patients because of confusion over the chaos. Specifically this employee that was blonde with an eyebrow piercing, she has no business working in an environment that requires communicating with people. Went to Quest on a Monday morning around 9:30AM but for some regular blood tests this time. Walked in without an appointment, there were a couple people in the waiting room but I was seen within 5 minutes of being there! I checked in per protocol at the front with my appointment I had set. You can see the screen above with expected time to be seen. 2 clients end up coming back and instead of having them wait back in the queue, they take them in front of everyone else. I ended up waiting an hour even though I had an appointment. The wait time here is horrible and the staff clearly do not work very efficiently. read more

Waited two hours for my pre employment urine screening & when I finally completed it they told me the request was expired when it wasn't! Called the HR lady at my new place of employment to confirm & they still refused to accept my urine screening. Now I need to redo this urine screening tomorrow..of course at a different location who will hopefully have more brain cells then those working at this location.
