I had nasal, throat, and pulmonary congestion caused by a viral infection. I thought about the frequent chem trails that criss-cross in all different directions up in the sky on a clear day and wondered what effect the noxious chemicals that we're being sprayed with have on our health. I'd been having symptoms of the infection for 7-10 days when I decided to schedule an appointment at the Sauganash Immediate Care facility on April 10, 2026. I was running late and I wished that I could've simply called the site directly to let them know and change my appointment to a later time, but unfortunately there's just a general number for all the sites that is answered by that obnoxious fake AI voice - it's virtually impossible to talk to a real person. When I arrived at the center there was a nice guy at the desk who greeted me. There was a phone on the desk, so I knew that I could've easily just called and talked with him on that phone to let him know that I needed to reschedule for a later slot that afternoon. The most convenient way to communicate for many patients is via a simple phone call, not an app or a website. He informed me that the medical staff was out to lunch and would be back in 45 minutes. I just decided to sit and wait. Forty-five minutes later I was seen by a nurse practitioner, Joanne Da Silva. She listened to my lungs and determined that they were not severely congested and that I did not have pneumonia. She also ordered a COVID test that was negative. She advised me that if my symptoms worsened, I should come back and they would do a chest x-ray and prescribe an antibiotic. At that point I should've said that if my symptoms had not decreased or became more severe, why don't you give me the prescription for the antibiotic now and I can just have it filled in two weeks if I need it - rather than come back a second time and pay again for a follow-up appointment for the same illness. I didn't do that, however, but will do that in future visits to IC centers. Or there should be an easy way to contact the facility and request that the prescription be sent directly to my pharmacy without having to make a second visit. The issues I had were not with Joanne, but with the powers-that-be in her organization that I'm sure are probably in compliance with federal laws. I had problems with the treatment options (all OTC medications) that were offered to me: either regular Mucinex or Coricidin, a nasal spray ("Ocean" brand or Neil Med Sinus Rinse that I'd never heard of and are not available at local pharmacies were specifically recommended on the After Visit Summary instructions). I went to a local pharmacy and checked out the active as well as the inactive ingredients of the medications. Both of these name-brand medications are expensive and not covered by my AETNA PPO insurance. I also compared the ingredients to their generic counterparts. The active ingredients for the Mucinex knock-off were the same as the name-brand and the inactive ingredients were very similar: cornstarch, several dyes to make the pills look appealing, magnesium stearate, maltodextrin (Dr Eric Berg, a renowned natural food and supplements expert, states in one of his videos that maltodextrin is a totally vile substance that is harmful to one's health and has no benefits whatsoever), microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, polysorbate 80, polyvinyl alcohol alcohol, povidone, silicon dioxide, sodium starch glyconate, stearic acid, talc, and titanium oxide. If anyone out there can explain to me why these ingredients are necessary and promote healing I would be totally shocked! I purchased this item, but just couldn't make myself take any and will be returning them to the pharmacy this week. In the meantime, a friend of mine who is knowledgeable about natural remedies gave me a bottle of capsules called Z-Stack by Zelenko Labs that has vitamin C , vitamin D3, zinc, and quercetin. I hope (knock on wood) that I will be totally well very soon now. Next time I go to an IC center (which hopefully will be a long time from now -maybe never) that I'll have a much more positive experience than I had this time. read more

So last month I had a cold that wouldn't go away. I had been tested for covid, strep and the flu. Finally, tired of coughing I decided I wanted to ensure I didn't have pneumonia and went to Northshore Immediate care center. Because I said I had briefly smoked as a teenager she diagnosed me with COPD. COPD! She was a PA and did no tests. I had a cold for Christ sake. I was furious. I have no chronic cough, no history of acute respiratory problems. NOTHING. I made them remove that diagnosis (BTW my cold went away) yet they still had in the comments that I had a risk of morbidity and treatment was significantly limited by social determinant of health. WTF? This is what they write for heavy smokers, alcoholics and drug users. I'm overt weight but not obese, physically more active than anyone else my age that I know, haven't smoked in over 40 years and a light weight of a drinker. I will never ever use Northshore Immediate Care or any Northshore facility again. read more

I went to the 1924 W Fullerton Immediate care with level 10 back pain. The X-ray tech refused to take the remaining 5 pictures out of 7 because I used the F.... word to myself in reaction to my pain. She should be fired!! I didn't say it to her but self reflecting on my pain. read more

Just came in with an ear infection, really great staff. The nurse and doctor were super helpful and answered all my questions. Only thing is they didn't have a kids oxygen level reader/pulse reader so they weren't able to take that. read more

I feel that this facility is not equipped to handle large influx of people trying to get tested for COVID and I can feel the frustration in the voice and faces of people that work here. Expect long long wait time just to check in and even longer time to get results. It's very disorganized and chaotic and it really didn't help the fact that everyone was impatient. It's impossible to social distance and there really was no direction from the staff to encourage social distancing either like limiting the number of people in the waiting are. I would not recommend this facility for asymptomatic COVID test. read more

DO NOT GO TO this place. This place feels like a factory designed to just get as many billings as they can. I went in because I had flu like symptoms and wanted to get tested for Covid. They insisted that I had to see a doctor. After waiting an hour, the doctor came in, talked to me for a couple of minutes and left. They took a rapid test swab and said I will get the results in an hour. I never got the results after waiting for more than a day. When you call their customer service number, they first tell you it may take up to 4 hours and to call back after that. Then, they transfer you to a 'Nurse Line' which has wait times of an hour. My previous experience with a finger sprain which I suspected to be a fracture wasn't any better. It took 3 hours and they sent me home with a splint I could have bought at Walgreens. read more

I have been to this facility a couple of times before and was happy with the service with the exception of one thing... which I'll get to later* I knew I had a UTI and was in their parking lot before they opened. Due to Covid, there were instructions posted on the front window to call. Once I phoned, I was guided through what to expect by the individual who answered and told to wait in my car. The communication was great as it was very detailed and I knew what to expect. When Dr. Vitulski came to my car, she gave me a new clean mask and asked that I replace the cloth mask I wearing. Dr. Vitulski stood outside my car at a distance and took all my information. The only time I needed to enter the building was to give a urine sample. *Here is where I had my issue with a previous visit: I had a UTI at the beginning of the year and my sample was sent to a group that was not covered under my insurance. My insurance is an all-or-nothing so I did check on-line prior to the visit that the facility was covered but never thought to check on the lab. I had to pay the full amount for the testing. For this visit, before I left the building, I asked the individual behind the desk that they please check my insurance and send to a group that is covered under my insurance. They did... all was covered. When I exited the building, I waited in my car for a call with a follow-up and the initial results. Within a short period of time, the call came and we discussed what medications I needed and how much. I was also given details of what to do if there were any further issues. This was all done seamlessly, safely and with great detail. I felt that I was already armed with all the information that I needed and I was very impressed with the follow-up text... and even more impressed with the follow-up phone calls to see how I was doing. read more

My 2 year old had a fever and seemed to have sore throat. We decided to take her here to make sure she didn't have strep. The wait time was less than 15 minutes, the doctor was friendly, took her time, and was knowledgeable. We were very happy with the experience and would definitely come back. My copay was only $25/same as regular doctor visit. read more

Terrible. For a place with 'Immediate Care' in big block letters on their windows, it's not very immediate. The receptionist was probably doing her best, but came off as uncaring and more interested in getting my copay before I could even see anyone. Hell, they wouldn't even let me in the building, and then said the doctor would come out to my car. What's the point of a medical facility if you can't go inside? Screw em! I am enraged by the predatory billing at this immediate care. I went in for a simple COVID test - which at the time was mandated to be free of charge, height of the first omicron wave - and they charged me for a 45 minute new patient visit. After much back and forth I am still fighting this $250 bill. Please beware these urgent cares are an outfit for making money for big hospital chains and not for health care. read more

Horrible horrible experience. Lady at the desk (Janet?) was rude from the second she came to the desk. She was on lunch for 30 minutes while we waited with no one there. Then when she came back she said there were too many of us and so we said don't worry only one of us with accompany my 78 year old father. I asked her to give us 30 seconds to sort out who was leaving and she wouldn't. She spoke rudely, disrespectfully, and yelled. She then proceeded to KICK out my 78 year old father who was ill! Not only is that horrible service but it is a potential liability for NorthShore. We didn't pose a threat and weren't breaking rules. You can't kick out a sick person. I am appalled at the way we were treated today. She needs to be fired. read more

These are great people. Always have taken very good care of me. Recently had a dog bite from my very sweet but ancient blind/deaf dog. The doctor was great and as it would happen, a hand surgeon happened to be at the facility. Both physicians were excellent,kind and caring. Kudos to all the people at this facility. Thank you! I came to the Sauganash Urgent Care facility at 3:40 on a Sunday afternoon unaware that they close at 4 on Sunday. Their waiting room was packed. No problem, I was seen by Steve Sawyer at 5:15 who took all the time necessary to determine what was going on with me, provide me with a coherent treatment plan, prescription medicine and overall, a fantastic attitude and bedside manner. He made sure that I was treated properly rather than try to rush me through so he could go home. He is very impressive and Swedish Covenant is lucky to have him. read more

She had a major attitude with the two questions I asked and was EXTREMELY rude to another customer that came in after me. The care was adequate and prompt. I am writing this review, however, to encourage you to look at the price list for someone who doesn't have insurance even if you do have insurance. We had a plan through ObamaCare that covered the immediate care like a primary care visit, so we only had to pay a copay. Unbeknownst to us, our new health insurance also purchased on the exchange, did not. So, despite having insurance, we essentially paid the entire price. (Which we didn't find out until we had utilized the center twice). In the end, we should have tried harder to get our kids an appointment with their primary care doctors. Unless you are sure you have excellent insurance, you might want to think twice before chosing the immediate care. read more

I just joined Yelp to write this review. I've been having trouble with my insurance. Was needing pricing on services as well as finding out if my insurance was reinstated. Precious, front of the house, couldn't have been more helpful. She called me multiple times to follow-up with information, was searching my insurance status while we were on the phone, had print outs ready for me to pick up, and didn't mind me constantly bugging her...:) Thanks Precious!! I have been coming with Dr Maloul for 12 Year's since her private practice. My family and I felt welcomed. Her reception was very friendly and always helped us. Since the doctor moved to this location everything is different. Receptionist is very rude! It feels like we are bothering them and rude comments have been said about patients while waiting in the waiting area. I don't appreciate my family or myself to be disrespected and treated unfairly.
