Poorly ran. The workers are all nice but I can tell the structure for how this place is ran comes from a perspective of treating people like cattle instead of tearing people like patients in need of care and help. I'd say the upper management and whoever is in charge of processes and policies is to blame and the workers are just subject to the poor management, short staffing (which is a management issue) and the poorly designed customer care environment. I had an 8:40am appointment, I arrived early... they were more than 20 minutes behind... when I was finally seen, they told me that because it was 9:04am the test would be rejected. I scheduled my appointment with plenty of time and I was on time. I can understand them running a few minutes behind but I've learned they typically run 20-40 minutes behind because they're so poorly managed. Whoever is in charge of the current policies and procedures here should be replaced ASAP. Not only was 1 of my tests unable to be performed because they were behind but when I got my results for my other tests, they completely missed the MAIN test that I went in for. Making an appointment does help getting seen by Quest Diagnostics right away. It does get annoying when walk ins can not be seen right away. I wish it was easy to be seen by Quest without making an appointment. I have gone to Vallejo location due to Hercules being shut down for two months a year ago. I thought Hercules was closed down forever but they have finally re-open in 2023. My doctor in Hercules recommended me to go to Vallejo instead of San Pablo and he was absolutely right. More than two people working at Quest. When I arrive inside I was seen less than a minute. Making an appointment at Quest does speed up the service. Going to Vallejo Quest Diagnostics is worth paying for toll to cross the Carquinez Bridge. read more

The kiosk check in doesn't work -is hit and miss. The technicians are great. Not enough of them.

Service is slow here. With appointment or walk in, you'll wait for hours to be taken care of. One problem is that you will notice that they don't follow their own list, you can see them jump one appointment to another. Hope the doctor move our appointments to another location next time read more

Kimberly was very nice to me when I was going manic trying to get urinalysis. She was very thorough in making sure the right codes were on the order . She she found a mistake and tried to immediately correct it and I observed that it was the John Muir Hospital personnel being rude to Kimberly request for 2-3 more minutes . Not impressed. They advertise appointments get seen before walk-ins, yet they see walk-ins while I wait past my appointment time. Their digital screen that shows who is walk-in and who has an appointment shows wrong times until served that fluctuate from 3, 5, and 8 minutes randomly. So I await being seen past appointment time while walk-ins are served. When seen they only validate who you are by asking. No ID or insurance seen verified. I could be doing a urine sample for another person, or drug test for another person. Best walk-in and not make an appointment if you need blood drawn. If you want to scam the system for urine or blood testing, Quest is the way to go. read more

I assure you, quest in Vallejo is not by any means the worst laboratory. Try getting to San Pablo and getting anything done. Quest used to be good in Vallejo and that's why I'm going back there, because I'm in tears when I think of going to either send Pablo or Hercules. My main problem is with the net site and not being able to make an appointment, although I signed didn't correctly with no problems. They have an endless round where they send you were around for location and reason I think I went about eight times. . I am not looking for another lab besides quest. Make your life easier by making an appointment! Or else you would be waiting for an hour or so. I made my appointment same day online, it was quick and easy. Luckily, I wrote my confirmation number down because it was an option when you check in. My appointment was at 12pm, I got called in at 11:50am. The reason they lose a star is because they have no one at the front to assist anyone, some people were having trouble with checking in with the machines even though I found the process easy, I find that these places should have someone at the front to assist patients, especially the elderly patients or the ones that have a hard time understanding english. Other than that, my appointment was a breeze, she was professional and quick, 8 tubes of blood, she did not miss and there was no bruises. read more

Checked in 15 mins before appointment, 0745 appointment. Didn't get called back til 805am. We waited in the car, it was beyond freezing in there, we get called saying we can come in their ready for us. Yea noooooo we waited an additional 10 mins. The person that was helping us did NOT have the supplies ready. By time he got everything ready & we walked out was 0830... They seriously need to work on their time management . I get it's the whole Covid procedure but cmon now. Not walking out til 830 is absurd!! The lady that helps check you in is rude. Instead of talking to you up close she yells out questions to you, while your seated. No professional at all. They need to do a whole lot better all the way around! I feel like it is insulting to front line workers everywhere, that the folks working at Quest insist on referring to themselves as such. After waiting at Quest in Sebastopol, I left (will detail my experience there under their own Yelp account), I had another appointment in Vallejo, so I decided to try Quest at this location. Boy oh boy. They don't even let you speak to ask a question... I mean, you are literally silenced and are not allowed to ask a question ... such as, "is this where I should wait?" OR "do you wait out here even if you have an appointment?" There is a horrid person with a terrible mullet, short and wiry on top, long and stringy and wiry at the back, that just points at you and tells you to leave, if you try to ask a question. Most people who were waiting on Friday, were non-English speaking. They are doubly disadvantaged by not speaking the language but maybe blessed in a way from not having to talk to these wretched folks. I am still in disbelief at my two experiences with Quest in one day. How is this disgusting monopoly still in business and how dare they liken themselves to our brave front line workers who are decent and kind and caring people who are working round the clock to ensure that the population stay alive and healthy. They are insulting and cheapening the idea of front line workers by their stupid signs saying that we need to be nice to them and speak respectfully to them, when they don't do the same, to start!! I am willing to bet real money that if you had to drive past a Quest before their opening time or closing time, that there isn't a soul in sight working overtime to take care of anyone's needs. I had to wait almost 45 minutes even though I had an appointment at the Quest in Vallejo. I had been fasting for 13 hours. I had lab orders from 3 different doctors and there were a couple of duplicate tests in the orders. The person at the front desk and other employees insisted I couldn't refuse the duplicate tests. She said I would have to ask my doctors to coordinate. (that is impossible to do nowadays!) The desk person said it was state law, that I couldn't cross off any tests. SHE WAS TOTALLY WRONG! It was lunch time by then and no way could I reach my doctors. I left after wasting 1.5 hours. They don't know what they're doing. I was concerned I'd billed for all the duplicate tests. Rude. Just rude. I was in a great mood before I came here. I understand they are probably very busy but the guy drawing blood was extremely nice to the Woman in the room next to me and extremely rude to me when I was nothing but patient and kind to him. I even tried to make small talk and ask him how his day was and he was not having it. Then when I was leaving he pulls the receptionist aside and is clearly talking shit about me because she turned and looks right at me and laughs. I have no idea what his problem was. I didn't do anything! I'm very disappointed. A little kindness goes A LONG WAY. Especially in today's world. Also there was NO Sanitization going on in the back people are in there getting blood samples done and they are not spraying the chairs down in between patients they're just bringing the next people right on in. I walked in to get some blood work, was seen at 1:00. My appointment was for 12:30 so there is definately a wait if you have an appointment. My phlebotomist was good, my blood draw was pain free. Problem is, I passed out. It was an accident and not any bodys' fault. But they sent me on my way without telling me I hit my head. I am quite sure I did, because I am having concussion symptoms. I am really disappointed that I wasn't treated like a human being and told I hit my head and should be seen or treated for that. I spent the rest of the day vomiting and in bed with a pounding headache. There needs to be training done here for ethical treatment of accidents. Please, don't be so concerned with liablity that you forget to treat patients how you would like to be treated. Such a bummer to say the least. read more

It gets worst ever time I go here. Today will be my last time. Did a walk in and it was busy. I got on the list and approximate wait time was 1hour. I was in front of 10+ people half an hour later, most of them walk in like myself. About an hour after waiting I got a text to go in. I was told to take a seat for early another hour and I'm not on the list and only 6 people on the list. The people that came after me are being taken care of before me and they were also walk in. So here we are waiting for our turn. There's quite a few of people ahead of us and it looks like it's a bit slow process. Took my sister in for like the 4th time but it had been her 7th time in there for a simple ONE VIAL blood test. The last time we went we waited over 30 minutes and then when they called her back it was too late to do the test. And this time we were there for 2 hours. And they took in I don't know how many walk ins without even trying to call us back. They kept saying "appointments first". But we still should not have had to wait that long to take someone back who's a walk in. We ended up leaving because we knew they would not get us in before the time frame. I visited this place on Tuesday for an appointment and came across Sandra. She had a nasty attitude from the time I walked up to the place. I get that during this time essential workers are stress but that makes no excuses for how you treat people. Sandra said to an elderly woman very nasty asking her a question, "I don't know. I'm the only one here. It's lunch hour!" Once we all got inside, her tone and attitude towards me was unnecessary. I asked for my insurance card back so I can reschedule somewhere else. I ended up going to the Quest Diagnostics in Antioch. Customer service there was EXCELLENT unlike Vallejo. Hopefully Quest Diagnostics will give Sandra some lessons to refresh her customer service skills. read more

I just left this spot and it was a hot mess!! The girl at the front desk was so slow, irritable and unhelpful! Thank goodness two of the lab techs came out to assist because there was no one there at the moment and helped by answering a few questions. I have always been pretty easy to draw blood from. I get blood drawn fairly regularly to keep track of my health conditions. Both times I have come to this facility, they have had to poke me several times, left huge bruises on my arms, and tears in my eyes. All I can say is that I have been to a few different Labs to have blood work drawn and this Quest is the most oldest, run down and ghetto of them all! They could stand to update their facility. And please get someone to come in and clean!! It is filthy, especially for a health lab!!! I never want to come back here! And someone really needs to teach the front desk staff better customer service and more extensivev training! This is my second visit to this particular Quest Lab and both times it has been very uncomfortable and disheartening. I will avoid this lab as much as I possibly can!! read more

Nice place to work for but I wish there was a better choice. This lab stinks like any other labs do but they can install some air fresheners to make it better. Finding a nearby parking is a dream come true so you almost always have to be there at least 15 minutes earlier. The staff could be a bit more friendly and understanding but they are vertically the opposite. I do like their online appointments. They have a great website and very user friendly, even if you're not up with the technology. I hope the management reads these reviews and make necessary changes to enhance the customer experience positively. read more

Haven't been here for awhile. The place has now moved closer to the parking lot and it is bigger and renovated compared to the old location which is small and outdated. Had my appointment set online. You can check in yourself as soon as you arrive, they dont have the option to use the code to do a self check-in. You can use the confirmation code (series of 6letters), and type it in. They do have a tablet at the front but it says on their note- do not scan the QR Code that you get when you set your appointment. I do hope that they can fix this to be more convenient to just scan the code. Now for the wait times.. Since I have an appointment, I arrived prior and the lady called me at exactly 10:15am, which is my appointment time. Inside the lab is spacious and clean. The phlebotomist lady could not the spot to get the blood (yes, mines is hard to find). So I was helped by Sunny, a very wonderful guy. He sure did found the vein and next thing I see was the 6 small tubes were almost done! He is very good at what he does. Very pro and diligent! Thanks to Sunny that I don't need to suffer for pokes for several times! Right on!! read more

Just to get the result of 2 tests done a week ago, this place has so many song and dance. This place sucks.

I have had labs done at this location a few times with no complaints. If you don't make an appointment you will be waiting for some time like at any lab. The waiting room can get crowded but it's an ok size compared to other locations. Front desk is really on top of it. They are knowledgable and helpful and they probably have the hardest job in the office with all that paperwork so be nice to them! (Not that you shouldn't be nice to anyone else). The phlebotomist are always friendly and although I don't have any needle phobias, they are gentle and never cause any pain. Everyone is always nice and have real conversations with you instead of small talk that goes in one ear and out the other. read more

I had really great experience with Quest Diagnostics Vallejo. I was called at exact time of my appointment. Receptionist is very knowledgeable and patient. Charles who performed my blood test has a lot of experience and was able to handle my really difficult veins. Really amazing job without pain and bruises. Thank you!!! I am so angry! I came in two days ago to be organized with all the tests my doctor ordered. I had to do a stool sample so I stopped in and they gave me the items needed to take the sample. Two days later I made an appointment and I came in to turn in the stool sample and get my blood test. Apparently my online appointment did not go through, and they gave me the wrong items to collect my stool sample. So I waited for 30 minutes before I was called for my blood test, and the woman at the front desk gave me the correct container (hopefully) to collect a new stool sample. When I asked how to collect it she had no idea she just gave me a container with no instructions. The woman who took my blood had only been working for six months, when I asked her she looked at the container and told me to ask the woman at the front desk again. I asked the new woman at the front desk and she said she had no idea she would need the information on the DR. orders the other woman still had. I had to go back and get the orders and then show them to the person at the front desk. She told me that I needed to freeze the collection and bring it in. Still not sure if this is going to be done correctly I'm pretty upset about the customer service. I'll be finding another Quest to go to!!!! They really seemed very incompetent!!! read more
