This place really needs to hire polite people. Went in this morning and the whole waiting room was full. They open at 8am and no one had the courtesy to come out and let anyone know anything. Everyone just sat there wondering what was going on. Finally at 8:25am a young lady came out and didn't say not one word or apologize for having everyone just sitting there. She logged into her computer and went about her day like if no one had been sitting there for 30+ minutes. But don't let patients be there 5 min late because they will cancel your appointment and mark you down as a no show and flag you. The back staff is really nice and polite but the front office staff really needs more training because they are very unprofessional. read more

First time here, was referred through La Clínica North Vallejo, came in signed some paperwork and was seen soon after, everything was pretty quick and proficient. The dentist, she was polite and did a great job on my son, even the dental tech was really nice. No problems here, and they take Medi-Cal. Zero stars. This is the worst dentist in Vallejo, DO NOT bring your children to this office. They don't care about their patients at all. My son who is four just started school this year, and had been sick for his last few appointments, he therefore missed them. As a parent we know kids get sick all the time when they first start school. When I tried to call to reschedule my sons appointment I was met with disrespect and attitude from the woman who answered the phone, she told they will not schedule him again for an appointment, because of his missed appointments. I explained the situation, and asked her if there was anything she could do for us, and she said I could bring my son and wait in office for any cancellations to occur! I told her I'd be seeking a dentist elsewhere, and she said "that's great." I will not be bringing my son here again, and will be sharing this info with friends and family. I encourage others to not bring your kids here! If that's policy it should really change, and if it's not, that receptionist should be fired. No professionalism whatsoever. Plenty of great dentists in Vallejo like Children's Choice Dental Care ;) Oh I almost forgot that the first time I called them I waited on hold for 10 minutes and then was HUNG UP ON, then this situation proceeded once they actually answered. Shoutout to Dr.Carl B and his crew! Highly recommended for pediatric patients! My son cried when I told him we had to go to the dentist. We had no idea what to expect or how my young son was going to react. The process was easy from start to finish. Late policy is strict BUT I appreciate that! That means they will be running on time and on schedule for those who do arrive on time. And that's exactly what happened. We checked in 10 min early and we were roomed right away. I have been going to La Clinica Dental in Vallejo for quite some time. They have just made me a full denture on top and a partial on the bottom. They are the funkiest dentures I've ever had. It took approximately 3 months to complete them going every 2 weeks. RIDICULOUS. For all the time it took they should be perfect and fit perfect which they don't fit and are not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. The tops are rough and gritty. The dentist said they are supposed to be that way haha. I don't even know what to say about the lower partial. I need to speak with my insurance to see if I can go elsewhere to get them made properly. read more

I have used La Clinica before for a few years but was in the process to switching to Western Dental. La Clinica Dental came through for me though where Western Dental did not. A filling fell out, or a tooth cracked, or both, and Western Dental wanted to replace it with a crown and probable root canal down the road, probably months away and at a high cost ($1,000+ estimate for the Crown alone). I was lucky to make it into La Clinica Vallejo Dental at the right time the next day (two days after the tooth cracked). They not only evaluated it in one day but were able to determine a replacement filling would do the job, and somehow they fit me in the same day to do the filling! How to make an appointments enjoying it the novel Coronavirus debacle, excruciating toothache will it seem to get worse. Play charge me on a sliding scale based on my income. I was told from the beginning they could not treat but only diagnose and prescribe medicine, so I didn't know what I expected when the doctor came in. I'll pay the negative and her exam just sat there and went over the X-rays with me and I learned more about dental X-rays then I think I ever need to they first met not to pull the tooth because it was very healthy that there was possibly a hairline fracture in an old cavity tell me what would happen and how to deal with it oh, I wasn't too sure when I left. However, everything's just said came to and caring for it following her directions has made damn near pain-free. When this is all over I intend to switch my insurance over to this clinic in that doctor. read more

I am so thrilled to have moved here from Contra Costa, where all the coverage you get are teeth extractions at the hospital!! That is it!! The ppl at the desk were very kind, efficient, and I got in for my appointment at the exact time it was scheduled. If you are poor in this county, you do not know how fortunate you are to get any kind of coverage. Last year my mom and dad had to pay $1,300.00 for me and I am an adult woman who has not been able to find full-time employment. The xrays were very high tech where they used very small discs, so they were almost pain free. Just a couple awkuard ones in the back teeth. THe technician Francisco, was adorable!! The dentist Ms. Blanco was kind and courteous. Very tiny, gentle, and accurate feeling hands, which I loved, and made me feel I was in very good hands. I am shocked with the negative reviews. A lot of times these gals will reflect your attitude back in the front desks. They put up with a lot of unkindness from customers all day, I am sure. If you live in another county you may just walk around with less teeth. People should stop whining and be grateful for this dental office. I give them a 10++ read more

Now if that's not enough to keep you out of the place the female doctor will finish you off. I'm not sure what her name is but I can tell you she shouldn't work with children. She was cold and abrupt! We were hoping for a positive first time dental experience for our 17 month old. She spent no time warming him up but went right to poking him until he bled. The whole experience with her lasted minutes. This is a child who drinks water all of the time, no pacifier ever or bottle. The only bit of advice she had to offer was stop nursing" that's enough." Its unfortunate that they don't offer you the option of giving negative stars in review. My wife and I tried to get a simple cleaning done for her. After coming in for x rays, coming in again for a consultation , coming in again for an examination...still no cleaning. Each time we came in we had to wait 45 minutes to an hour in the waiting room. The staff is completely rude. They disregard your presence, avoid making eye contact, and sit around eating and cracking jokes with each other. The last time my wife went in for an examination, they poked around in her gums so hard she ended up with a gum infection for the next week. It made it difficult to eat certain foods. We still have three appointments scheduled BEFORE they have us scheduled for the cleaning we asked for a month and a half ago. I understand that this is just how it goes sometimes when you are a low income patient or medical recipient, you dont get the best service available. I am ok with that, however I am not ok with being treated by medical professionals as if I am lucky to be in their presence. It's true, I am not the one paying the bill, the government is doing that for me, but does that mean that I should be made to feel as if I dont deserve to be treated with care. They are getting paid anyways, they are trying to milk the government for like 7 appointments for a simple tooth cleaning, yet want to treat us as if we are an imposition. We, the poor, are your meal ticket to endless appointments and income via social wellfare systems, at least you could show a little care. When we called to explain our situation, that my wife had gotten a gum infection from their examination, the receptionist said, "oh, ok." I replied to her, "you dont exactly sound shocked that someone ended up with a gum infection after visiting your offices." Her reply was, "well, thats never happened before so i dont know what to say ok." Not even the slightest tint of care or remorse or...anything. And I'm pretty sure she was eating while she was on the phone with us. If you have the option to go to any other place, you should go there. I cant imagine it could be much worse. In my opinion, a place like this shouldnt be allowed to receive government funding for the care they give citizens of California. It really is upsetting. read more

Wait time can be a drag but the actual dental work was phenomenal. Dr. Mendoza deserves five stars for his warmness, kindness, and easiness. The process was painless. Only a pinch, i swear. I got an extraction at 11 in the morning; it is now 5 pm and i am still in this painless state, no after pain so far. Maybe my preparation was on point, maybe dr. Mendoza's procedure was top notch. Awful costumer service I was never able to schedule an appointment. They kept on giving me wrong info. I have been trying to get one for at least 4 months from now. 1st they said "oh! We're already fully book" and I ask when can I make an appointment for their next opening? The lady I spoke to told me call at the end of month for the following months opening. 2nd, I've waited for the end of the month and called I was put on hold for at least an hour and never got back with me, so I hung up and called again and I was surprise of what they told me that they are already fully book and they just got fully book right about after I called. That was so great! I was like WOW!. 3rd, almost similar to the 2nd one. And finally the 4rth one, again I'm surprise just today sept. 30, 2016 at the end of the month I called @8:27am right before they open and they are fully book! And I ask that it is the end of the month the lady that i spoke to said that every last thursday of the month. I am only trying to get in here because they take my insurance. Agreed this place should receive negative stars due to its lack of professionalism, treatment, and care not to mention the fact if you don't speak Spanish you are even more so discriminated against. I took my 4 year daughter in on an emergency visit because she fell and knocked her two front teeth loose and upon the dentist's review she told me that I HAVE to get those teeth extracted because it will cause infection if left alone. I myself am a firm believer in a second opinion before any drastic procedure and then took her to the Native American Health Clinic in San Francisco where I was told that those two teeth will not cause infection and can fall out on their own which is what eventually happened. As of now she has two healthy front teeth and never had to go through the pain, embarrassment, and humiliation of having her teeth extracted. I do not have any trust or respect for a place that calls for unnecessary procedures in the name of insurance fraud or "milking". The atmosphere in the place is dismal and makes you feel as though you just entered a prison's dentistry and the employees and RUDE, the care and service that you receive is sub-par and even the cleanliness of the dental tools used are questionable. I wonder if they re-use certain picks and other equipment it is so dirty there. I still do not have dental insurance and will not go there under any circumstances and will pay a little more to a private dentist who gives discounts to the uninsured then to risk mal-practice from La Clinica Vallejo Dental.
