I was enjoying a cold beverage while ducking into the shops that lined the streets. Gardenviews, a white building with bright blue accents, stands out among the colorful buildings here. Inside, couples and friends browsed for the knick-knacks that personalize a home. I was struck by the beautiful displays: antique shelves, desks, and console tables upon which were dishes, candles, and home goods. I saw many things that I liked, toys for kids, hand towels with cute sayings, and garden accents, but I was here for a gift. My friend loves lavender and since I could not find a lavender tea that I thought she would like from a nearby spice store, I was determined to get a lavender room spray, candle, or soap as a thank-you for all her kindness. I don't deserve her as a friend. I found some beautifully wrapped, wonderfully-scented soaps, imported from Italy that I thought she would love. The store also gift wraps items, if requested.

We waited for someone from the store to come over and one of the ladies who worked there came over and apologized to us. I tried to apologize and she said no worries. I tried to pay for the damages but they wouldn't except that. We later were talking to one of the owners who was truly genuine and knowledgeable about outdoor vases. She told us the best time to order and what to order for the best price. They have so many neat items in their store and really love what they sell. I am just glad little places like this are around where people really love what they sell and for great prices.

I don't have the patience to wait for however long it might take. One big red maple tree goes for about $1,600. If you do end up coming here to purchase anything. Be prepared to wait at least a good 15 to 20 minutes or more to get through the line. Will have to come back on a non-Mother's day weekend. It's worth a walk through, so much to see. The boutique shop seems a bit out of place though.

Rachel was out the next day to do an assessment and the day after had a design ready to share with our family. Green Thumb treats your budget like it is their own and came up with a beautiful design we were comfortable with. Rachel kept lines of communication open with us throughout the process and our neighbors were amazed at the speed and thoughtfulness of their work. When a sub-contractor on irrigation fell though, she had someone out within an hour to quote the job for less than the original and do the work the next day. Her husband Sharvez and his team were very detailed with their work and put in long hours during a heat advisory to meet timeline. Within a week and a half we had a beautiful graded front sodded lawn, new front bed, graded backyard with seed and 16 giant green arborvitae, and graded side lawns with seed. All grass is now lush and thriving. I couldn't recommend them enough and plan to continue working together on our outside design. They are not just a landscape design company, but also now our friends too.
