I am three weeks into the QWL program, and am down almost 18lbs. The diet trains you to eat the right amount of the right foods, and your body reacts very well to the nutrition and volume you are feeding it. With the plan I am on, I get to have fruit, veggies, starches and of course protein. I've tried a lot of diets, work outs etc. over the years, and I have never seen results this quickly! I love the fact that I am responsible for my meals, and can design them however I want.......plus they offer snacks that are part of the plan to keep you feeling full and on track to loose weight. There is an office very close to my job, so I stop in at lunch about 4 times a week, and the support and suggestions they give me really helps me feel good about my weight loss progress, and keeps me going for the future. They tell you when you purchase their products you get Loyalty points you can use towards your next purchase . Let me get this out of the way: I never participated in Quick Weight Loss Center's diet. My wife did. I am only a third party observer. Since I have an interest in diet and fitness, their methods intrigued me. My wife stayed on this diet consistently for a little over a month. I feel I have a good idea on the initial phase of the diet. So I want to write about their diet and what I thought of it. THE GOOD PARTS This diet works. Then again, all diets that decrease your calorie consumption works. If you follow their directions carefully, you are guaranteed to lose weight fast. They also require you to come into the center at least three times a week. I find that great because they give you accountability. They track your progress frequently and will give you necessary encouragement when you need it. My wife found this helpful because she won't listen to me, but she will listen to strangers. Their diet is very healthy. When my wife was on this diet, I was pretty much on this diet as well. Even though I didn't follow it as closely as she did, I still lost weight. Of course, I didn't lose it as fast as she did, but I still did lose weight. I'm pretty sure my blood pressure, cholesterol, etc. went down as well. You don't need exercise to lose weight with this diet. That's right, you can sit on your flabby butt and still lose weight. This program is great if you don't like to exercise much. Of course, it can be better with exercise, but they don't require it. THE BAD PARTS I have a lot of gripes about them though. First is that they are a business and need to make money. The people who work at Quick Weight Loss Centers are not doctors, nurses, dietitians, personal trainers, or whatever. They are salespeople. Their job is to sell the product. And their program is on the expensive side. The diet is super boring. One of their sales pitch is you still enjoy your favorite restaurants. That is total BS. They don't technically lie about it. You can go to your favorite restaurants, but the only thing you'll be eating there are salads with no dressing, carrots, onions, etc. You need to order the most boring food possible, and you have to be the annoying guy who needs 1000 changes to a dish. If you cook at home, it's not bad. But you have to follow their ridiculous rules in what food you can eat. I'm skeptical of them. Why would you only eat 1 type of meat with a certain type of vegetable? These "optimal" combinations seem arbitrary to me. They have expensive supplements they push on you. Since all you do is eat boring, bland foods, they "reward" you with their supplements. Their supplements taste great actually. That's probably the only time in the day where you can eat yummy foods. They are expensive. They take advantage of the dieters who are craving something non-bland. I saw one woman buying almost $100 worth of their supplements in 1 day. I don't know how long that will last her. Maybe 2-3 weeks? They have no "cheat" or "reward" days. You have to stick to the diet 24/7. This requires quite a bit of discipline. But hey, they're called QUICK Weight Loss Center, not Slow Weight Loss Center. I know from experience, if you deviate from the diet, you will stagnate or even gain weight. Once you reach your goal weight, they ease you back into the normal foods. My wife never reached her stabilization phase. But from what I looked at it, it looked like the same old boring foods to me. If you cheat you gain weight back. Yes, if you lose weight this fast, the second you diverge from this diet, your weight goes up as fast. My wife cheated slightly and her weight went up the next day. That is pretty depressing. Luckily they do have the stabilization phase to slowly ease you into it. SO SHOULD YOU DO IT? That's up to you of course. I think this is a perfect diet for the Bride who need to lose 20 lbs fast for her wedding (give yourself about 2 months). I have to tell you that this diet is a huge lifestyle change. You will not be able to enjoy any of your favorite foods such as ice cream, sodas, pork, onions, etc. This is an expensive product. So make sure you have some disposable cash around if you want to start on this diet. Like I said, this diet works very well. You just have to have Bruce Lee type discipline and determination to not cheat the whole time you're on this diet. But my wife was able to stay on 95% of the time. The sales people who keep you accountable help a lot too. Honestly, if you're one of those people that can stick to a process and are disciplined, you can pick any other diet like Atkins, Slow Carb, Dukan, etc. They give you the same results, and it's a lot cheaper. All I want to share with you all: when I had my baby and was breastfeeding, they freaked out me eating any of their products. So what is in it that becomes a big "no-no"? On other note, once they said I couldn't take any of their products for a while , they made it clear - no one was interested in me or my progress. I dont mind that they run business, however, there is no ethics and very agressive sales. It's very expensive and I would recommend spending the $$$ on nutritionist and personal trainer. I am currently on this diet and like any diet that you stick to, it works. But dont be fooled, the menu is extremely restrictive and assumes you eat only foods that you prepare at home. Don't buy the nonsense that you can eat at your favorite restaurant or when you are on vacation! If you deviate a tiny bit, you will stagnate of worse, gain weight. This is even down to don't mix vegetables in your salad!!!!! The people who work there are helpful and encouraging, but don't forget they are selling all the time. I developed a terrible rash and bruises ( from scratching ) all over my body by the fourth day after taking, drinking and eating their products. I had to go to my doctor and get steroid shots. I was advised to stop with all the products, as I must be allergic to something in them ( which I have never been allergic to anything but Sulfa ). I called QWLC and asked them to reimburse at least $368 out of the $555 that I paid since I could I longer do anything but eat healthy ( I can do that on my own! ), but they wouldn't reimburse even $.01!! Then I decided to go back to Quick Weight Loss in Boynton Beach, Florida and Dianne the manager was extremely helpful in guiding me with using the proper program that was necessary for me to lose weight. I joined the QuickWeightLoss program in early April. I was sold supplements to help with the weight loss. 4 weeks after starting the program I suffered a major heart attack. I was treated at Broward General. The Cardiologist at the hospital and my personal doctor both advised me that they believe the root cause of the heart attack was the supplements that possibly sped up my heart. I had no prior heart issues and no family history of heart issues. My doctors both told me to get off the program immediately. I requested a refund and was denied. I have paid a total of $2300.00 for this QUICK weight loss program only to find that it is NOT money back guarantee. I was so sure that it was guaranteed weight loss that I prepaid the whole thing thinking I would lose all i needed by my goal date 12/23/2014. I wish I had read ALL the reviews rather than the testimonials (one of which was from someone whose opinion I value) before signing up for QWL. The only positive fact was that person received a referral fee. I am a life-long dieter having weight the same at age 11 as I did when I got married 16 years later. I have likely lost +/- 20 lbs enough times to have created a fully-grown 6'4" man. I used "Ayds" (product failed after "Aids"), Metrical for Lunch-Bunch, original Jean Nidetch Weight Watchers (*more about this later), Stillman, Scarsdale, Atkins, Over-Eaters Anonymous, SlimFast, newer Weight Watchers, Rotation, Suddenly Slim, calorie-restrictive and yet newer Weight Watchers diets. My most recent bout of dieting was to lose the "Florida 15" - sort of like "Freshman 10". A protein/fruit shake for breakfast, plain Greek yogurt with fruit for lunch, small protein bar for snack and protein with vegetables and salad for dinner wasn't working. Everyone in my community who was successful said it was pricey, but worked. All I had to lose was $2,500 (most for supplements bought on discount** with their Platinum plan.) OK, I got sucked in to QWL. I started Thanksgiving week. I survived Thanksgiving, Corporate Holiday Party, Chanukah, pre- and post-Christmas feeding frenzies, and now New Years Eve. To date, I have lost 7 lbs in 5 weeks, that is depending on what day and at what time I weigh in. You MUST weigh in 3x weekly. My question is, OR WHAT? Does it negate their NO MONEY BACK guarantee? The diet is a f*cking pain. You cannot commingle proteins (no surf and turf, seafood combinations, no repeating limited items 2-days in a row, heaven-forbid eat something not on "Plan" (thought I was going to smack the counselor when she commented tilapia wasn't on the plan...I asked what the nutritional difference was between it and red snapper or flounder which was...She said, "Tilapia is not a real fish!). Eating out is more than challenging. The "tilapia" was brought up when I mentioned the SADDEST meal I've ever order: baked tilapia without bread crumbs or added butter and steamed vegetables. It LOOKED worse than it sounded (very SAD) but it was 8:00 pm and I was hungry. Then, there are the friends who comment on the supplements - makes you feel REAL good about your choice. When asked why I wasn't losing weight more quickly, I was told it is likely because I don't have as much to lose (only 17.8 lbs). They thought I could do this in 8 weeks. I will share the ONLY reason I continue is because of the financial investment. I will not be buying more of their supplements once I am finished with the pre-paid batch. *About comparing this diet to other programs, I believe it is a combination of the a lot of diets I been on: original Weight Watchers (2-4-6/5-3-1 = 2-4-6 oz of protein at bkfst/lunch/dinner -5-fish/3-beef/1-liver meals plus veg., etc.); the new Paleo (only what you can hunt and gather); throw in some garcinia cambogia and white bean extract (along with a few other appetite suppressants and carb blockers) and substituting "their essential fatty acids" for dietary fat...JUST DON'T COMMENT or you will be chastised. My mother, who is diabetic, DID lose 30 lbs, but she is now in a coma in hospital due to completely out-of-whack electrolytes and a low Ph that her doctors say can't be explained by her blood sugar. She was found unconscious on the floor of her home. I wish I read these reviews before signing a $600+ contract with Quick Weight Loss. There is nothing QUICK about it! I lost 10 pounds in 2 months, which when calculated cost more than $60 @ pound! This is the last week that I will be allowed in the center unless I sign up for additional weeks (another $600) or lose 3 pounds @ week, every week henceforth. I stuck to this extremely boring diet for over 2 months and didn't lose the 30 pounds they promised. The "diet advisers" just want you to buy the food and pills, which is cheaper on line! I previously have given Quick Weight Loss a 5 star review on YELP. I recently went back to buy some supplements and products. I thought I noticed a price increase on one of the items compared to what I could purchase online; so, I went online to www.nashuanutrition.com to find out that I can get the exact same product for significantly less. I purchased their KLB-5 and EFA supplements for $40 per bottle with a special of $10 off if I bought the pair. However, online I can purchase the KLB-5 for $24.95 and the EFA for $19.95 which would have saved me over $25! I just started the quick weight loss program. My first 4 days I lost 9 pounds. Then I received my follow up phone call. The rep told me she would give me a deal on a package that will last me through my weight loss journey. Keep in mind, I shelled out $440 for the first month. The Rep gave me a price of $5000 for the full package. I feel like I was lied to. This has definitely taken the wind out of my sails. If I had $5000, I get the lipo and save a little time. I have been going to Quick Weight Loss Center since Oct 2017 and lost 60 lbs. I still have a ways to go. I never never never could have done this on my own. The diet is well balanced but very low carb and not too hard to follow. The snacks they sell you really help keep you sane and give you something to look forward too. The staff is very very supportive, friendly and well trained. I could not do it without them. I could have lost weight faster but I keep falling off the wagon and they help me get going again when I get off track. I have never felt that they are pushy about selling me snacks. Hello; I at first signed up for the program thinking that I will be able to reach my weight goal in the 12 weeks mark they informed me. I will give credit that in the beginning I was losing weight fast in the beginning and of course they do inform you will lose weight slowly and by doing those plateau diet will help. My concerns; hatefullness falls when I told them a billion of times that weekdays are impossible for me to come get weighed in and I had strictly verbally told them; yet I keep getting calls weekly "when are you coming in". Give or take there were times I was able to come in on the weekdays; and I was placed on a plateau diet over the weekend. Then here goes another crazy lady telling me that you are not able to do the plateau diet on the weekends due to we are closed Sunday and what if you have a question; what idiot would have a question about the diet if you follow it strictly according to the paper they provide. Service from a scale of 1-10 I would rate it a 1. I even received a call twice from them after my 12 weeks goal was up informing they have a special discount of one week free. What is one week going to do; it is not going to help me reach my goal. Then I get another call another day saying its been awhile I had not came in. I do not plan to ever show up to that place again. Its a rip off; that is how they get you broke. The products are expensive and not only that they do not have what is provided on there site: in the beginning when signed up there was this cheesy pasta nacho or something like that; and a co worker use to be on the program years ago and there was a turkey chili which is no longer available. I have done this now for 3 months and have had little to no results, they say if you deviate from the plan it wont work, but if you have done any kind of weight loss prior to starting (i.e. if you have been doing something that caused you to lose a substantial amount of weight) you wont have as big a weight loss to start out. The overall idea behind it is a good one, like others will say but here is my gripe: They have all sort of weird random "don't eats" and rules but when you ask why it is like that all they will tell you is, "because that is our system is made" most of the people who work there(the sales assistants) don't know the answers or the science behind it. If you say that you have found a protein product in the market with the same nutritional information as the stuff they are pushing, they will discourage you from buying your 5$ product and try to get you to buy there 15$ product. They are more concerned with pushing products and making sales then helping you change your life. At least that was my experience. read more

I'm very skeptical about reviews because you're always going to get the complainers. You'll never get the truth about anything. I was on QWL several years back and I lost 35 pounds. However, I went off the program and gained the weight back. That was my fault. Yes, you're going to loss weight with all the supplements and the diets they push. But, I didn't loss the weight by following the rules all the time. I made better food choices and exercised. If you are an adult I simply believe you have to do what's best for you. My wife went to QWLC in 1987 when she felt she was a little chubby in highschool (junior). BTW, I have seen her old pictures and I thought she was very cute. Anyway, they asked "her" what her goal weight was. She had no idea what a good , healthy goal weight should be so she just picked 120 lbs. cause it sounded like a good number. Maybe that was a number she read in a popular womens magazine! My wife is 42 now and has had a lifetime of suffering due in part to the QLWC philosophy that set forth in motion an unhealthy self-image. Steph had to go there every day and weigh; if she gained 2 or 3 pounds they would accuse her of cheating on her diet. Now everybody knows that body can fluctuate weight on a daily basis and gaining weight from yesterday is perfectly normal. They got my wife fixated on her weight and punished her when she fell backwards even a couple pounds. By punishment, I mean taking away a fruit or vegetable or cut down meat portions. All of this while talking to her in accusatory tones. "The scale says you've been cheating", they would say to her. Stephanie is now a 42 year old that has struggled through almost 2 decades of bulimia. Her eating disorder has caused her to have eroded teeth, which are all capped now. She also developed a seizure disorder from years of vomiting and electrolyte levels being dangerously low. The seizure disorder in turn caused severe falls and injuries, one of which landed her in a coma for a couple months when she had binged, had a seizure and the food aspirated into 3 lobes of her lungs. She developed a severe lower back condition while in a coma that gives her daily lower back pain that has not been managed to this day with any medication. She has osteopenia due to years of nutritional deficiency, so back surgery is not a good idea. So I would not recommend this diet or any similar weight loss company. Reasonable caloric restriction AND excercise is the only way to go. It's not about weight, but rather your body composition; the ratio of fat to muscle. I was surprised to read the review from 2014 when in 2017 I went on 2 cruises, spent a month on Saint Simon's Island and helped our daughter and fiancée plan a destination wedding. Needless to say there were lots of eating out situations. My ah ha moment was wanting to fit into a Mother of the Bride dress worthy of the occasion. I was a fat lady without a plan but with a workable plan, lots of support from well trained and competent people it worked. Sherry is in charge there and she and her staff are positive you can lose the weight. Soon I was too. It didn't happen overnight but now I've been in Maintenance for six months and planning two more cruises. Supplements kept me healthy and full so we budgeted for it like groceries. It worked. And realize you are relearning behaviors that will keep you healthy long term. It takes time to do that but no question went unanswered and Sherry and her wonder women never made me feel bad about asking. I really don't miss that 50 plus pounds. Part of the initial orientation was a questionnaire about what my eating triggers were and I've reread the feedback more than once. I agree with Jang pretty much. I am currently on the program. When you go in for your initial consulation, they ask you what your goal weight is. Then they calculate how long it will take you to lose the weight and then they tell you how much it will cost. They estimated me to be on the program for 9 weeks and lose about 30 pounds. OK, that is more than 3 pounds a week. At 9 weeks was not even half-way to my goal. I had to 'buy' 6 more weeks. I did cheat at Christmas, but that was it. I went to quick weight loss center, and met with a young lady. She asked if I ever took nitro glycerin, and I told her ten years previously that I took one tablet. She told me she couldn't help me, and could not explain why this made a difference. I have had my heart examined many times in the ten years and doctors have told me it is fine. I was allergic to their food. I told them I might have this reaction while signing up. They brushed right over that. Within a week I was in a full body rash. When I returned they gave me partial credit for my unused food. They kept my total enrollment fee of $800 and were deaf to my request for a refund. This is a waste of time folks. read more

I would not recommend QWLC. I took my son there and after spending $600 the first visit I quickly found out that this is a hoax. Everyone knows if you eat nothing but salad and drink water you will lose weight, but a teenager is not going to stick to this plan. Also, they taut that you eat "normal foods" yet they want you to buy there drink mixes and snacks, which by the way are horrible and you can buy the same type of products from a grocery store for a half the cost. The people at the location on Johnson Ferry were nice enough, however, they are nothing more than glorified con artist.
