Being 77, it was unique to feel like the youngster in the crowd. No doubt most of the patient population are on a one way journey. The monthly birthday celebration included many who could not appreciate the festivities. Food service is adequate. Scrambled eggs at breakfast was better than decent. Snacks are offer. Spent a week last year at Kessler West Orange, a world class facility. For my current needs, Shady Grove was decent & approvable by UnitedHealth.

She is caring and compassionate, but will give your derrière a kick when you need it. Because of the care I received from her,I have definitely improved. In addition, I feel confident that I will continue to improve by doing the exercises she taught me at home. I would be remiss if I did not mention the excellent receptionist and assistant, Charmaine Goodridge. She is warm and welcoming, as well as very helpful. Together these two women make a sometimes painful experience so much better, and even fun at times. We sometimes sing along with the music, laughing and joking around. I am sure this helps me in my recovery. Kessler New Providence has that environment that is conducive to feeling better both physically and mentally.

On behalf of my family, I want to thank all staff for the care and support they have been providing for the last three months while caring for my Mom who doesn't speak English and is forgetful: Alex - for promptly addressing all our concerns related to Mom's care and comfort; and for being our dedicated volunteer interpreter :) James - for always finding time on his busy calendar to answers our questions and even to support me by sharing his personal experiences of being a caretaker of elderly parents. Janelly - the Rock! This person must be cloned. I've seen Janelly, the director of nursing, serving dinners in rooms, changing patients, helping them with toileting, consoling family members etc, etc. Janelly is a unique, genuine person, and a truly compassionate professional. Tamara - for understanding the slightest cues in my Mom's movements and what they could mean, and for attending to her with care and calling her "Babushka" (Grandma in Russian) Fumi- for always smiling to my Mom while assisting her with hygienic tasks and singing while rubbing cream on Mom's feet. I have total peace of mind when it is Fumi's shift! Mary, Christine, Mr. Sharif, Robert, Marleen, Farouk, Mike -the Chef- , Leo, Tanya and many other kind and patient staff - thank you for your care of Mom. So why only 4 stars? By all means, a few things could be improved to make the facility a high class one and a desirable destination for health improvement and long-term care. The important one is Physical Therapy. And there are times when communication could have been better and when staffing seems stretched, which affects response time and consistency. Still, when we raised concerns, most issues were addressed. And so, this Thanksgiving season, we are grateful for the people who genuinely care of our Mom at the Chatham Hills center.

I do not recommend this facility in Wayne NJ , especially for people of color…read more I had an appointment at Atlantic Health Rehabilitation in Wayne, New Jersey today 4/9/26 The office had recently moved, and it was very difficult to find the new location. As a result, I arrived approximately five minutes late. When I arrived, there was another patient at the front desk speaking with the receptionist and scheduling multiple appointments. I waited patiently for over five minutes while they finished, without or complaint. When it was my turn, and before the patient ahead of my the receptionist immediately told me I was late and refused to see me. I explained that I had difficulty finding the new address and had also been waiting for her to finish assisting the other patient. Despite this, she repeatedly stated that it did not matter and that it was "policy," without showing any flexibility or understanding. I tried to explain that the delay was beyond my control and that I had arrived around 10:05, just after the other patient. She still refused to see me and rescheduled me for April 16 without asking if that worked for me. I found the interaction very rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. A five-minute delay--especially under these circumstances--should have been handled with more understanding, particularly since I am in pain and had recently visited a pain management office. Additionally, I felt that I was treated differently because I am Muslim, which made the experience even more upsetting. This experience was unacceptable. I would appreciate it if a supervisor could follow up with me and address this situation. Staff should receive proper training on professionalism, communication, and respectful treatment of all patients.

Each time I leave in much condition then when I started. I found Jason, Catherine and Deana to be very helpful and professional in restoration back to my normal athletic lifestyle. Most importantly they provide the guidance and exercises so that I can maintain my lifestyle of skiing, distance swimming, golf, cycling, and kayaking. Plus they are very responsive whenever I have questions. I recommend them highly.

And she goes above and beyond to explain what the issue is and why the exercises will help which will make me continue with them long term. I've been to so many doctors and physical therapists in the past about my knee over the years but this is the first time someone really explained all of what was going on. And this is the first time in noticed a significant improvement from physical therapy.

Where do I begin. This place is surely not like Morristown. I went voluntary inpatient to their…read morepsych ward about a year ago after a suicide attempt. I genuinely thought I would finely get the help I need. Boy was I sure wrong. From the moment I entered it felt like an internment camp. Toilets and sinks made of steel. A shower which blasts you like the fire hose you would experience in the Newark Riots. In fact, I think I would have been safer downtown Newark come to think of it. I was treated like a prisoner. I was mocked by the entire staff because they did not obviously know how to treat DPDR which is what I had and not just depression/anxiety. I have never seen such an uncoordinated place in my life. What genius decided that all mental patients regardless of their diagnosis including homicidal deranged people clearly on drugs should all be put together??!! I had to spend my 8 horrible days/nights there in solitary confinement from the outside world suffering continuous ridicule from both patients and staff. I am legally disabled and was mocked for how I walk, I was recorded and laughed at behind one way mirrors while attempting to sleep with an individual who called himself the "Pisser" whom peed around my bed in the middle of the night and not one worker came to remove him or clean up his mess. They also held a viewing party because I could hear them behind our room laughing and talking about me and this other creature next to me who snored on top of peeing so loud, I think a jet engine would be softer. Many people I see here talked about their disgusting rabbit food they would feed me since I'm on a renal diet. The workers were amongst the rudest, soulless, immoral individuals I have ever had the misfortune to meet. There was no structure at all. You are expected to read the wall or pamphlet for times and expect to visit the various groups. My DPDR caused me balance issues and memory issues so they took advantage of my mannerisms and gestures to mock me by staging fake repair men to pretend to repeatedly fix the air on a ladder when you could clearly see they were solely watching me as no work was actually happening. When I asked questions, they would deliberately send me to the other end so I would have to walk and often no one was there. When I was sent to dialysis about 3 times, they would tip off the techs and nurses and dietitian and they went out of their way to stage a patient next to me pretending to call home and he would keep repeating words or topics I discussed in their so-called therapy. They had a dietitian sit in the bay next to me and she pretended to review what to eat on renal diet but there was no one there she kept saying things like, "So you can't eat yams, they have potassium, so um you know like bananas are bad too, so um ya like don't eat potatoes either." Know these words alone is not how a professional would talk so I know they were meant to mock me because at DPDR onset your thoughts are not as fluent. They sat me in a special wooden chair so I would suffer there too. The nurse deliberately went as slow as possible to the point of supreme exaggeration to insight mockery of me. When my mother and brother came, they would lie and often say I was not available or that everything was fine. I do hope there is a special place in hell for these liars. If I had one wish is that they get audited and raided by the FBI and fed government to seize their computers and all surveillance. Then the truth about what really went on with me and probably countless other poor souls trying to get help but instead got tortured. I spoke to AJ Mertz about this and the patient advocates. My family and I have been in this hospital over the years for multiple surgeries, ICU, even my father passed here. Management needs to clean house. There are always a few rotten curds in every brick of cheese. Communications is very lacking as I saw during a major surgery stay and here too in Baby Alcatraz Ward. Manipulation is not therapy!
