Listen, you've got to make this *your* station in Laveen! The shelves here have some good deals occasionally, it's clean, stocked well, nice ac, working pumps, lots of parking and has the BEST most awesome staff!! My mom even said, "wow, they're really sweet there" and she's a tough cookie! They work very smart at this station, you can really tell that. It's even got its own excellent assortment of snacks and goodies directly from Mexico. Everyone says the chips I bring to the party are way more flavorful, score! If you're on your way to/from the highway, stop by and show some support to the newest local station. After all, it's the morning and midday grab-and-go stomping ground for our dedicated construction and manual labor forces so they've got to be doing it right at Shell-Laveen!

A few employees are nice, but most of them are very rude, and the darker complected heavyset lady is always so rude. When I went to turn in my lotto tickets, I was being very polite and friendly with her and told her that I needed another trio. Afterward, when she was ringing me up, I said "I still need that trio" and she said, "You never told me." I responded by saying, "I did, but you probably didn't hear me" and she said, "No, you didn't." I repeated myself, "Yes, I did", but you probably didn't hear me in a friendly manner and she replied again, "No! You didn't!" I told her that I wasn't going to argue with her. I can't believe she's even arguing over something so petty like that and a friend that was visiting her in the store looked a little shocked, too, but obviously didn't say anything. I'm not gonna argue with a store employee and I'm certainly not gonna be treated this badly at a neighborhood store that I've gone to for years. As usual, we were in and out within 1.5 hours. Above and beyond service as I suspect they were able to fix my driver-side window that was causing me issues over the past six months. We typically use synthetic for this vehicle. Earlier in the year we were able to do an oil change with Valvoline Instant Oil Change on Baseline near the 202 Extension (new location). We were charged synthetic prices but our oil change sensor had us at 10% within three months with limited mileage - more or less, we weren't given synthetic, but charged as if we were. This has never been the case with the shop at Super Star who we've been using for at least 5 years.

This Market was established in 1908, though there are folks claiming to have pictures showing it was running back in the 1800's too. It's still in it's original building, with the paint fading softly all around the edges of the building. Just as in the old tradition, they try to be a general market - but for a new generation. This is what is on their business card, "Baked goods, groceries, produce, beer, wine & beverages. Antiques, collectibles and furniture from the Old West & Mexico. Saddles, tack, spurs...oh, and of course, coffee". When I was there last, we left with a sack of homemade chipotle rolls, homemade granola, ice cream, 2 home grown organic avocados - and about an hour of entertainment for my mom as she ooo'd and aahh'd over the antique bookshelves holding stuff like Hormel chili in one row and stacks of wine in another. The flyer she gave my mom - who was oh so obviously new to the place, showed pastries, dog treats and deserts are coming soon. Of course, the girl working the counter is the daughter of the family that's owned it for the last 30 years or so. And she told me their semi-long term plans are to turn their "back room" that currently holds the antiques into a restaurant. This place is like no other spot I've ever been in Phoenix.
