Like any good quilt store, the cottons are piled high with bolt upon bolt promising a thrill and a chill for anyone with a wish and a dream. My waxing poetic aside, the choice and sales were good--for Alaska. I picked up some Raven Frog Fiber Arts (based in Sitka, AK) roving to spin. Then we had a couple hours to wander the small town. We enjoyed visiting Aurora Yarns and Wild Yukon Furs, and eating the cinnamon sugar "Elephant" ears. Aurora Yarns has some interesting yarns from a variety of animals. They have some hybrid yarns too. I don't knit or chochet but my friend does so I bought her a bundle of multi-colored yarn as a souvenir gift from here. She liked the color and was grateful. The lady who worked there was helpful in describing the difference between the yarns.
