My son was a patient at QPA for 5 years (birth to 5) until we moved out of state. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this practice. First and foremost, the ease of reaching a nurse via the phone made parenting less stressful. They offered great advice and always seemed to know whether a visit was warrented, while being open to scheduling if it made me more comfortable. I loved the rotating provider aspect and enjoyed hearing from many different docs. Dr. Hertko-Adams was an especially great resource for us. I will miss this practice and thank them for their help getting my son's health off to a great start! read more

I've been taking my almost 3 year old daughter here since birth and have been very happy with the Quincy practice. I never have a problem getting a sick or well visit. Dr. Scharf is our well visit doctor but everyone in the practice has been great for sick visits. The nurse's line was also wonderful when my daughter took her first big fall off the couch. (She was fine but first time parent I wasn't sure what to look for if watching for a concussion.) The nurse even called me back a 1/2 hour after we spoke just to check on my daughter and be sure that there weren't any additional concerns. Super appreciated! I never have problems with the receptionists so they must have hired new people since those negative reviews. Their flu shot clinic is great too! Schedule an appointment in advance and in and out in minutes - with paperwork if you need proof for school or daycare. The one negative is I wish I could pay my bills online like I do with every other healthcare provider I have but their payment is check by mail or credit card over the phone. read more

Have needed to call QPA twice in the last week for two out of my four children, for both behavioral needs and medical. Both calls were treated with respect, listened to and actionable. Referrals were received within minutes and my son was seen within an hour. Testing on site was completed and treatment was determined quickly. Though not every doctor may be the right for you and your family, there is a variety of practitioners to see, which makes each experience different for each individual family and child. I have never had a bad experience with QPA and couldnt recommend them more. Very happy with this practice and all it has to offer. read more

Our family has been coming here since our first was born in Aug 2020. Now, 3 kids later, we still choose Quincy pediatrics because truly everyone that works there has been stellar. The doctors are incredibly knowledgeable and patient. Whether in office or on call, they've never made us feel rushed or dismissed but instead took the time to really listen to our questions and allay our fears or provide solutions. The admin staff has been super friendly and professional, as well. My wife and I brought our baby there who was born on July 3rd 2023. She had explained that our baby was having a tough time latching during feeding and they kind of brushed it off. We also explained that baby would frequently have hiccups and they said that hiccups are of no concern... not a big deal but our baby girl has a posterior tongue tie and an upper lip tie. You would think that after being looked at for her 2 appointments that the Dr would have picked up on this... just incompetency at it's finest. read more

Doctors and nurses that I have seen have been have answered all our questions and been sweet and attentive to our 2 month old daughter. our primary care physician is Dr. Mansour but I'm comfortable being seen by any of the on call doctors as they've all been great so far. also really like the evening and weekend urgent care hours and their onsite lab. Waited over a month for an appointment. Gave them my child's medical records in person. However they managed to loose it. How professional! Now I don't know who's hands the records could fall into and it's an extremely daunting thought. I will be filing a report with HIPPAs office in regards to this matter and if it happens to you or anyone else I suggest you do the same. I went to Dr. Irons Sr. when I was a child and now my baby goes to Dr. Christian here. He's wonderful and all of the nurses we've had have been great, too. Highly recommended, all of the docs there are probably the best you'll find anywhere. Great with all of my questions and concerns - never condescending. I never have to wait long and they always seem to spend lots of time on each appointment. The only thing I don't like? I always feel like I'm bothering the front desk when I check in or have to make another appointment, no matter what time of day. I know they probably have a lot of crazed parents calling and kids screaming in the office, but I don't like being talked to like I'm ruining their day just by giving them my name. read more

We've been very happy with Quincy Pediatrics during the three years they have cared for our son. They have been his pediatricians from birth. Dr. Mansour has been our PCP and she has a wonderful manner with him. We've also especially enjoyed Dr. Christian on sick visits. I have had to use the call line in the middle of the night several times and always got prompt phone help. For sick visits, if you call during the morning call hour (7am-8am), you can speak to a doctor immediately. We have always been able to get morning appointments for urgent care via the call hour. The decor is dated, but it reminds me and my husband of our childhood doctors, so that's a plus! I also like that the doctors have been willing to work with us on natural or nonstandard treatment plans (like postponing antibiotics for an ear infection, or giving prune juice for constipation). I have always found them to be low-key, supportive, and very calming for a first-time parent. The staff have also always been helpful, especially in navigating referrals and insurance. One thing to know is that it is very difficult to get through by phone when the Quincy office first opens in the morning at 8:30. The phone is sometimes busy for an hour straight. You have to either call at 7am or wait until later. Recommended! read more

Both of my kids have Dr Christian here, he is wonderful! A little hard to get an appointment with but worth it, he is so approachable and intelligent, he takes all the time you need and you don't feel rushed through your appointments. We usually only see him 1x a year now that my kids are out of toddlerhood :) But I really do like him a lot. My husband and I are both nurses, so we try to avoid visiting the pedi office at all costs,. but we have had to bring the kids in for sick visits, and they have been very good about getting us right in, We have even had to make a few late night phone calls, like when my 3 month old daughter rolled of our bed onto the floor (yikes---she was totally fine, but at the time I was in a panic!) The on-call doc called me back immediately , which was great. We have seen every doctor there, several times, and have been satisfied. The nurses there are generally very nice.. some.a bit brisk at times, as it is a very busy practice. The office in general is very dated, looks like the office I went to 30 years ago, but that doesn't bother me. Be prepared to get a busy signal on the phone though, especially first thing in the morning...especially a Monday morning! read more

I really like all the doctors here. The hours and availability for appointments is always great. I have 2 daughters who are seen here and they love it too. The bad things are that they building is old, waiting room is small ( I don't like having my baby that close to other sick children), parking is usually not an issue but they are under construction right now so it stinks. Hopefully the remodeling will be done soon and the place will be a lot nicer. Im not crazy about the people at the front desk, but with all that aside - its worth it for convenience and good doctors. If I got a call from my daughter's school that she is sick, they can always get me in for an appointment right way and give a note for the school. read more

After going through a couple pediatricians, I was happy to find a huge practice of really good doctors. The only real bummer is that the office is near the T (Quincy Adams) but you can't really get there from the T (it's on the far side of the parking lot). Only once have we waited for more than 20 minutes to see a doctor for an appointment in a crowded reception area, and that was in August during back to school time. And there are books and toys--a train table and a kitchen set (no judgment!)--to play with but it doesn't feel like a germ factory. Dr. Irons did a great job sewing up my boy's facial injury on Halloween (dressed as a bicyclist, no less). The staff have great bedside manner and a sense of humor, too. The decor is straight out of the 70's, complete with wood paneling, which gives the that odd comforting reminder of my pediatrician's office when I was a kid. read more

I called Quincy Pediatrics and attempted to make an initial appointment for my child. I was told they were not willing to request his medical records from his former pediatrician's office. They stated that was not their policy and they, "don't do that". The receptionist that answered the phone was completely unprofessional, unwilling to help me, and rude. She then placed the nurse on the phone which refused to identify herself. She was worst than the receptionist. When I asked to leave a message for the pediatrician, Dr. Irons I was told they were unwilling to take the message or transfer me to his voicemail. This was a terrible first impression and I have no intentions of having my child seen at this unprofessional facility. read more

Although the doctors and staff were nice, the conditions of the place in my opinion, were below 21st century standards. The building looks like it hasn't been updated since 1972, along with their equipment. There were no sinks or soap in the examination rooms... Not even a simple hand sanitizer dispenser anywhere in the building. There wasnt even a digital scale! The OLD scale they used was super rusted. rediculous. I can always speak to a nurse during office hours or the doctor on call if I have any concerns. We have had the BEST experience at Quincy Pediatircs. They have always seen my son the day I have called with any concerns. The nurses have been wonderful on the phone and in person. We have seen almost every doctor for our numerous ailments and all have been so kind and gentle with our son. I really and truly could not have asked for more. We are so sad we have to leave Quincy Pediatrics behind when we move. We have gotten excellent advice, information and care from everyone and feel like every doctor treated us with respect but more importantly treated our son like their own. The front desk is terrible. At the Quincy office it's impossible to get hold of someone. At both Quincy and Marshfield offices, they don't accept medical records from other offices via fax or email, making new appointments difficult to schedule. Even for Boston the staff is terribly discourteous. read more

I've been going here all my life, and am sad that I have to leave here soon. Dr Christian is really an amazing doctor; he makes you feel so at ease, explains things in ways that you understand and yet at the same time doesn't make you feel dumb. I am writing to inform you of the poor customer service I have received at the Quincy Pediatric Office located at 191 Independence Ave Quincy Ma 02169. My family and I recently moved from Brockton Ma to Quincy Ma and needed to switch my son's pediatric care to a more convenient location. I found the office online and decided to give them a try. I scheduled a two year check up for my son. Two weeks ago, as my wife and I were on our way with our son to the appointment I realized that we were going to be late do to traffic on route 93. I called the office to notify them of the situation and was received with less than stellar customer service. The woman who I later got her name to be Karen proceeded to tell me that it was my responsibility to be on time. She told me that if we were late the doctor would not see my son because the doctor was seeing someone else in15 min. I asked her why they had only scheduled a 15 min window for my son's two year check up. Not to mention the fact that he is a new patient. I told her that I had taken a day off from work to have my son seen. Karen said to be there on time or he would not see my son and hung up the phone. I was treated so poorly over the phone that my wife and decided to not go to the appointment in fear that we would be treated even worse in front of our son. I am very disappointed in the poor customer service I have received and concerned about how many other patients are treated this way. I understand that it is my responsibility to be on time for any appointment but there is a level of customer service to be expected from any professional environment which this women did not come even close to. Unfortunately, she has give the office a bad name. Two weeks later after calling to have my sons documents transferred again treated with poor customer service by the woman named Karen. Due to lack of customer service from this woman I do not recommend this office for your child. read more

I have never set foot into this office, but my mother has with my adopted baby brother. They seem to be fine with the doctor (hence the 2 stars) but let me just say, there has been MANY phone encounters that could have been much better. Due to some billing mistake on their part, I had to contact them several times. The first thing I'd like to comment on is that their lines are almost always busy and I have had to call them 5-10 times to get through. (Be persistent and you WILL get thru!) The second thing is that several times they've put me on hold for quite some time only to say the person is not in the office. In my latest experience, I waited over 20 minutes, heard the automatic machine talk about the swine flu 5 times, had the same woman pick up in the middle asking if I need help and after the 4th time of being put on hold, she told me the person I am looking for left work already. I don't mind being put on hold, but I find it rude that they had to ask me to wait for her three times before figuring out their own staff wasn't there. read more

Terrible!! I have a newborn he was born on 10/17 at SSH. The reason my fiance and I chose thlis pracltice is because he saw Dr. Irons when he was a child. Our disappointment with one of the doctors started at the hospital with the woman doctor but my fiance and I decided tlo give them another chance because there are other doctors here that we could see. We went in for his two week check up and of course we got this same woman. Believe it was Dr Hertgo maybe. Anyways she just talks down to us like we are dirtl. The next week wheln my son was about 17 days old he was constipated and we called the office to get some advice because we are new parents, We were advised to give my son an oz of PRUNE JUICE in with his formula. Little did we know that this is a big NO NO infants are not supposed to have any type of juice until they are several months old. We told his new doctors office about this and they were pretty upset that a doctor would give this advice. Then on this same phone call to Quincy Pediatrics they told us that a baby can go up to 5 days without a bowe movement. The new doctors office told me this is not so and if my son didnt have a bowel movement for that long then there is something wrong. So I would not bring any child to this practice unless you like being disrespected and getting the wrong advice.... I didnt even want to give this place one star but I had to. read more

I moved to the South Shore in 2010 & didn't know where to sign my 7 yr old daughter up for primary health care..and what practice would take Mass Health. I phoned many places who were incredibly snippy about taking Mass Health. Quincy Pediatric Associates was recommended to me by a Doctor from Boston Childrens Hospital..that was a VERY good sign. I phoned them & they said they did take Mass Health, but only the PCC option..but they assured me that once I switched from BMC Healthnet to PCC they would still have room at the practice. I made the switch & sent copies of my daughter's health records and she was quickly signed up. I find the place very very good. They have excellent out of hours care - a key thing with young children. They allow you to make decisions about where a specialist referral is made..I always select Boston Children's, not South Shore. They handle referral quickly and efficiently. I tend to take appointments with whichever physician is available rather than sticking to one, and haven't encountered a duff doctor yet. The number of physicians means that one is able to get an appointment readily when your child is ill. When they get lab or scan results back from a hospital, a doctor will call you at anytime.. I've had them call me at 11pm in order to let me know results and to tell me what to do the next day. This is really something. They have refurbished the office a bit recently, but I really like the fact that they don't have money to burn on splendiferous offices for themselves, and that their patients and patients' families range from very comfortable to clearly suffering financial hardship. To me this indicates a practice where a commitment to the care of children is primary. The medical world is not short of physicians who end up being more interested in their status and lifestyle and don't care to deal with anyone who can't pay cash up front easily or who has health insurance which doesn't scrutinize charges too closely. Trying to cover all bases: they are easy to get sick child appointments with, they are responsive, they listen, they are flexible about where referrals are made, their charges are very reasonable, they accept most Health Insurances, their out of hours care is super. We've been with them for 5 years now. I've written so much because I know how confusing it can be to find a new pcp practice for a child, & I want to do what I can to assist other parents wrestling with this question. In my experience, this place is a very very good choice. Don't be intimidated by the initial sign up process. You need to call and ask about what health insurance plans and accepted, and you need to get previous health records and give them copies..that's your job as a parent..you will need those for any new practice you sign up for...or if a new practice DOESN'T ask you for them, then that's a bad sign right away. Quincy Pediatric Associates has helped me with routine illnesses, emergencies, severe illnesses during the Nemo blizzard of 2013. I highly recommend the practice. read more
