Ryan suggested I call some of his favorite shops that excel in customer service. How right he was! The Quogue Liquor Store, delivered a bottle of champagne to Ryan, then I called Main Street Candy and they put a lovely box of candy together and arranged for pick up, by Ryan, then called Stone Creek Inn for a gift certificate, also so accommodating, brought all together by a magnificent orchid and a beautiful candle from Flowers by Rori. RORI IS AMAZING!! When we first started planning the wedding, to be honest, the florist was the least interesting vendor for us and we even considered not doing any flowers. Our knowledge of flowers were basic, to say the least - roses, calla lilies, and orchids - and we just didn't think it would matter to us. After meeting with Rori, we discovered a new world and couldn't help but become excited about the floral arrangements for our wedding. Rori is an amazing person and tremendously great at her job and it definitely helps that she loves it and it shows in her work. Rori was knowledgeable and accommodating and helped us create a beautiful setting for our wedding and within a very reasonable budget. We have no regrets at all and were so glad that we went with Rori for flowers. Looking back, it would have been a mistake to not hire a proper florist. She gave us a gorgeous arch on the beach, the most amazing bouquets and perfect boutonnieres. To say that the arrangements in the reception were beautiful is an understatement - they just brought the whole wedding to life. One of the best things about Rori was that she had this ability to bring out the inner florist in ourselves and helped us to articulate our desires and make it a reality. I chose to go to Flowers by Rori because it was recommended by my vendor and I was utterly disappointed by their level of service. I had my initial consultation w ryan, roris second in line. He covered the basics and sent an Inital proposal which did not include all of the flowers for the wedding or the total for the charge.. When I called to discuss a second meeting to verify I was met with an enormous amount of resistance from ryan who then informed that they only do a second meeting if your going to book with them.. But how can you book with a florist without knowing all of the specifics of the flowers or what your total charge comes out too !!! When I tried to call rori to discuss the situation, ryan Proceeded to tell me that I was "unbelievable" for calling and was extremely rude.. I'm not a crazy bride and I just would like to make an informed decision about choosing my florist especially when I'm paying for the wedding myself .. I felt that I would have received more respect than I did if I was willing to pay big bucks for my flowers !!!! Soo beware ! I take value in reading reviews both good and bad and I hope that this helps some brides make their decision. They may do beautiful flowers but the hassle of having to deal w someone like ryan is not worth it especially when there are so many other florists out there . When I originally called to make an appointment to meet with her, Ryan answered the phone, and I felt like he knew what I wanted before I had even shown them all my ideas! I was so pleased with the flowers that Ryan arranged for my daughter Beth Ann's wedding at Raphael. He met with us in January (despite the crazy snow) so I could see what the arrangements would look like. Ryan really takes time to explain what he will do and helped us to visualize the venue with the flowers. He arrived promptly at the venue in time for Beth Ann's getting ready pictures. The flowers for the bridal party and parents were so lovely. Ryan included special memorabilia for Beth Ann on her bouquet including a lace handkerchief that has been handed down from my grandmother. He decorated the winery beautifully in the ceremony space as well as the dining room with floral arrangements, greenery, and floating candles. We were so pleased with the arrangements and candles on the table. He provided boxes for us to take the table flowers back to the hotel for the morning after brunch.
