This is the real deal southern Q! Pork was smoky and juicy topped with a tangy crispy slaw . The sauce was just right. Bun tastes housemade or perhaps they get them from a local bakery. Bun was hot off the grill. Can't say enough about how delicious it was. Our service here was superb on both trips. I'm a local. It's always something with this place. They never stick to their hours and they quit taking to-go orders at random times. When they are serving, there is always some waitress-drama that gets aired out in front of the customers as if they are the audience of Jerry Springer who are required to participate. It gets awkward quick. The food - it's mediocre/bland when you can actually order and eat. The breakfast is decent/good compared to the rest of the menu. Redwood hut is just up 57 near PCA. Well, I hate to write a bad review but.... Years back this place was just so so but I think something changed in the management and it really improved in both service and food quality. Well you know the saying, "the only thing permanent is change"? Well seems things have changed back. This is not based on just one visit but rather the last times we've been in. Food quality has dropped and it takes forever to get your food. This was the last breakfast I ordered....... took about 40 minutes to get and the place was not 1/2 full. Omelette was cold, pancakes were singed and my crispy taters were barely warm! Oh yea, had to ask for silverware last two times as well! I mean 2 omelets is not that hard of a task. And even if busy then just stop seating people til you get things under control.. Don't just sit them , take order then forget about them.. Stuff is always missing from your order, and especially the bbq is taken from refrigerator reheated never off the grill! You will only receive Luke warm. Would give zero stars if I could. Place is crappy. Tried to call to place a to go order for three biscuits. They said they weren't taking any more orders. I have my boyfriend drop me off there and try to get it there and take it in a to go box and they still told me they weren't taking any more orders. I said why they said it's a 45 min wait. And they've only had one cook until ten min ago. I understand that but I didn't mind waiting. I then walk outside and see two of their cooks sitting out on picnic tables smoking. One of the few, if not the only, place to find breakfast after 11am in Counce. And what a breakfast it is! The bacon is salty and well-done, just like I like it. The Texas toast will fill you right up. The servers are sweet as can be and seem to know all their customers by name. They refill your juice and coffee without having to be asked and even asked if i wanted some to go. This is not fine dining. . . but this is goood food. read more

Disappointing is about the best I can say. We weren't greeted when walking in. They were out of so much, my husband had to change his order 3 times and even after ordering still had to change his side. The 1 waitress couldn't seem to keep up. There was a foul mouth drunk sitting at the bar, who didn't seem to care about his volume or disgusting conversation choices (I don't care what you and the other guy did with a "lady" but I didn't need to hear about it over dinner). If you order the brisket be prepared, it was more like a boiled roast and was fatty. The salad bar was small and seemed to be missing several items but what was there was at least fresh. Went here for lunch and our group had hamburgers and pulled pork. Hamburgers were great thick and meaty. Pulled pork was ok. They only have one BBQ sauce. Quantity of food for the money was excellent. They are open for breakfast and I would go back to try that menu. Would also like to go back to try their ribs.
