Last year I hired R&L Irrigation to install an irrigation system, which was done well and is working fine. I then hired them to re-seed my back yard and install some sod. They had to re-seed several times due to washouts but were responsive and helpful. So this year I talked to them about an annual lawn maintenance plan and signed a contract in March 2019 for that program. They spoke about giving the new grass an extra feeding and all kinds of preventive treatments, but never showed up to do the Spring feeding. After repeated badgering, they finally came out at the end of June, applied a pre-emergence crabgrass treatment after the crabgrass had already sprouted (which did nothing) and promised they'd be back when it got cooler to apply a broadleaf weed control. It has now been 4 more weeks and the heat wave has broken, but no sign of them. My yard is now a weed choked mess. if you want an irrigation system installed, I'd consider them, but as far as a lawn maintenance program, forget them. read more

In June of this year, this company fertilized my lawn in error instead of a neighbors and burned my lawn grass in several spots. The company said they would be out to reseed in the fall, but after promising to do it, never showed up. I contacted them again and asked that they send me a $50.00 check to cover the cost of either doing it myself of having another company do it, but the owner refused my offer. Beware, if you use this company, their fertilizer can kill your lawn. The owner is arrogant and refused to take responsibility for damaging my lawn. read more

NEVER hire this company for lawn care. Heard them on local radio. Talked like knew what they were doing! NOT. Hired to kill off weeds and reseed. Do not know what they are doing and no Customer satisfaction policy. Did not show when scheduled/no call to reschedule. Homeowner stayed home. No return call - or follow up. Customer has to do the initiating for any communication. Finally showed up & sliced seeded only front side yards. We requested to be present. We were not. They seeded in the RAIN.(They set irrigation TOO LONG! Flooded beds and standing puddles. Did not leave instructions, make a call, even business card that they were there. Did NOT seed back yard that was killed off!. Eventhough proposal did not state it, wouldn't you think lawncare company would KNOW Customer would want the dead areas reseeded??? OR SUGGEST/ASK to be done while there?! So they left it unseeded!!! When asked to make site visit. "we'll come out next week and check"! When asked about irrigation, "oh that's too long, cut back 50%! " THEY set the times!! A local wellknown professional firm confirms whoever "did this doesn't know about lawn care"! They tore up the lawn. Killed plants. Left debris around. Drilled holes in walls and didn't repair them. Dug through our walkway and left it. Put 3 (that we are currently aware of) sprinklers in the leach field. Which is against DNREC code 5.5.4.1 That states ...there shall be no lawn irrigating systems installed over the absorption facility when the absorption facility is active, without our knowledge or permission. Pulled out our driveway lights put most back but not where they were and other set aside in containers. Said they were going to leave the lawn as they found it and rake and seed. They did not. They only seeded where they put the two boxes in the ground. They left voids in the ground that are still there over a month later. They said it would be done in 2 days, it took 3. They showed up late and left early. Average was 10-3. They took out the screen to the basement entry, left it unlocked and left the screen on side of house. They didn't give us a manual or go over the system with us. I had to ask repeatedly for one and then weeks later gave me a manual to a system that is not the one they installed, saying they were close enough. The electric has been blowing out when sprinklers come on, we had to replace the gfi repeatedly. They tried to charge again for a pump that was part of the contract. Only time owner came out was to make sale, not once to check the work or resolve repeated stated issues. They are unconsciencious and do shoddy work read more

We had R&L install irrigation in 2016 in Milton. Initially all ok. Problem next year when found out the above ground piping was glued to stay together instead of a proper fitting - major water leak in yard. R&L refused to acknowledge was their error. Fixed for a fee - but then did not install the valve for the annual system closing. Used another service for this fix and closing. This week-Oct.2019 - another yard leak - fixed by plumber - due to underground failure of piping to the irrigation cistern - due to use of a plastic coupling instead of metal. Plumber said it was a shoddy job done by R&L. Will not recommend this company. read more
