There are two young men that I have seen work with the customers and another on the forklift. First visit I was greeted by and brought a container for my wares by the forklift driver. Pleasant and helpful. At the scale I got grumpy and stern. I had never recycled at this level by myself. He made me feel insignificant and seemed annoyed with having to serve me. Was it because I was not used to their system and way of doing things or because of my gender? I decided he must be having a bad day and tried a second time. This time I had the thinner man at the scale. He was kind to the homeless man and his dog Poe, he was kind to the contractor bringing in leftover supplies (this customer was very neat with his offerings), and he was kind to me, making sure my different metals were weighed separately and priced accordingly. The forklift driver from last time assisted and was also pleasant (these two gentlemen are the only reason for the one star I gave, I would give these two more but husky/unprofessional guy made that difficult to do. Before my last items are weighed, Husky guy comes driving the forklift and instructs me to remove my items from the scale. I pick up my basket and Thin man kindly directs me to a safer place to stand as Husky then weighs a different man's items and has Thin check the magnetism of this "cut the line" customer's wheels. Thin even educated the line cutter about where to check the magnetism and tries to remain professional but you can tell he is frustrated. I then finally get my last items weighed and I'm paid, but not as I was the week before and when I checked current scrap prices, discovered R & L was much lower in pricing than other local companies. Significantly lower. But Thin and the nice forklift guy helped ease my ruffled feathers. Then a third visit, just to be sure that I wasn't imagining the poor treatment and service that Husky offered twice now. Third time was awful! Husky made a gentleman who was very dirty ( scrap metal is a very dirty chore) remove his already placed items from the scale and weighed other (more than one) gentlemens' items. Now I'm not only concerned at the possibility of gender discrimination but also racism. Caucasian customers asked to remove their items (many heavy) so that a group of African American gentlemen could "cut line". The gentleman that was made to feel unequally important looked humiliated and it was sad to watch. Husky then embarrassed him yet again in front of his line cutters and followed up with deducting pounds from his total weight because of dirt, when a tiny bit of sand was left after his items were finally weighed. Less than what you shake from your shoes and Husky said a little loudly that he was deducting two pounds, humiliating him and then giving him less than what he earned. I vowed never to return. The economy is rough, the quarantining made humans less kind, and empathy has been forgotten and Husky "kicked a man when he was already down". Not a good experience here even with the extra shots I gave them x even with Thin and Fork Lift being kind, the poor service from Husky makes R&L a hard pill to swallow. Ugh!

We have always tried to shop and support local and small businesses, that being said Unlimited…read moreRecycling may appear "small" in size compared to other similar companies, but their customer service, kindness, professionalism, and genuineness are astronomically large! Recycling and scrap metal is a dirty job, all walks of life come in looking haggard and unkempt, dirt from head to toe and every employee from scale to the yard to cashier treat all with the same smile and stellar customer service. I have used other smaller recycling businesses and have been made to feel uncomfortable and burdensome at times, but not at Unlimited. I have watched the homeless, the scrap business man, and the family man trying to make ends meet be invited to sit down and enjoy tacos as they celebrate a staff birthday. If you have not paid a visit to Unlimited Recycling you should. You will notice the difference and be pleasantly surprised.
