I attended the unarmed security officer course a few days ago. The owner of this company, Shawn, was the instructor for the course and did a fantastic job of making what was mostly mundane information into something entertaining and extremely relevant. Mr. Jewell shared many relevant stories of his career and integrated those into the course material, which really helped a knucklehead like me absorb the information and most importantly, stay interested. Shawn was also interested in hearing the personal stories of the students and used these to integrate the course material as well. This is the mark of a great instructor. I also noticed that Shawn laughed a lot during our two day course, also a very good sign for any type of instructor, especially one who has spent their entire adult life on the law enforcement/martial arts/personal protection arenas. I have been through a lot of different training in wilderness survival, self defense and firearms and these guys really know their stuff! They are by far the most professional, safety conscious and thorough instructors I've ever come across. AND they don't bark orders to teach all of this like drill instructors or tell you once and expect you to remember it all. it was a relaxed - but professional and serious atmosphere, they explained things in easy to understand terms and kept going over things and repeating the steps over and over so that one thing builds on another. I am not a "do it once and get it" kind of guy so that was important to me. Also, I have never seen a group like this that was so safety conscious. Everything they do is tested for absolute safety! They are obsessed with safety. I like that. Their training center is new and still under construction, and will be for some time to come in one form or another, due to the grand scope of things to come, but it's a huge piece of land and pretty impressive with incredible views all around. I'll be back for other classes and look forward to seeing the progression. After hearing what their vision is and all the different training options available once construction is completed, I'm really excited. Their list of training classes is very impressive and extremely varied, depending on whether you want to learn wilderness survival, firearms training of all types or self-defense. It will take you a very long time to go through all of the many classes available. I was very highly impressed with their depth of knowledge, the high level of skill and their ability to teach it all, as well as their heavy focus on safety in everything they teach.
