Power tripping owner, membership is $300+ and he will cancel it as he pleases if you dare to do anything that he deems bad. Even if it's just a little mud on your feet, you will get terminated without any warning. Highly recommend not going here. read more

Redmond is in need of another fitness club. Until then this place will do I guess. Good location. Lot of free weights. Decent aerobic equipment, light on the nautilus type stuff. Seems heavy on the 'bro' culture. It's "month-to-month" but you need to give them 30 days notice which seems weird & not done any other month-to-month I've used; that really doesn't endear them to the average member. You have to email them to cancel. I use it now for convenience but they haven't earned loyalty. read more

I joined this club on a month to month basis. While signing the paperwork I was told this is not a contract it is month-to-month. I did not know or was told that I had to give a 30 day notice if I no longer wanted to come on a month to month basis. I had to stop going due to health reasons and around that same time my credit card was compromised. I did not return the phone call back from their staff person because I didn't think they needed my new credit card since I wasn't going there anymore. I figured I would go back once I got my shoulder and neck issue figured out. But then I get a collection letter for $175. Mind you my payment each month was only $25. The owner states he emailed, called and text me. I only received the phone call. When I explained this and my health issues and asked if he could please reduce this or cancel the collections, He said no, I initialed where it said I needed to give a 30 day notice. He had no compassion or understanding. We all sign things and not clearly pay attention, which is wrong for us humans because you have rude people like this owner that doesn't have the compassion and understanding. I paid the collection fee but I will never go back to this gym again. Besides, when my granddaughter and I went we didn't know how to use the majority of the machines. When I asked for some help to try to learn how to use these the response I got from the staff was, you will have to hire one of the private trainers. So just beware everybody, know what you're signing, know what you're getting into, and know the machines because you won't get any help or compassion from this place. read more

Best bang for your buck in Redmond. $25 a month gets you 24/7 access and unlimited classes. There is always an open treadmill or bike and tons of free weights and machines. The manager is super friendly and the instructors are so fun and encouraging. I'd recommend RAC to everyone any anyone at any fitness level. read more

I would rather juggle pitchforks blindfolded with a lit stick of dynamite in my mouth than walk in again. AM manager commented when I first joined using membership provided by health plan, "we get a few dollars from them" like the amount the club receives per visit is a paltry sum compared to what they get from others, and what the club provides (I know for a fact that the per visit fee that a club receives is competitive and my use of their facility pales to many who spend a lot more time (perhaps too much) than I ever would. Many of the clientele I encountered are rude and get triggered easily, even when I walked in the door-I wonder what they would do if I really said how I felt at times. They allow unsupervised teenagers in the facility, who take it over in the evening with a gang mentality. Yea, fight club-why use any equipment? There are a few rays of sunshine that attend, but didn't connect after I decided to stop going after 2-3 visits. Mary, one of the yoga instructors, has a warm heart, hugs freely, and gives personal attention to class attendees. read more

Having been a member of the RAC since 1995... I've experience several owners & their changes. Now under new ownership (hopefully for the last time) I've seen more improvements & positive changes in the past 30 days than in the past 20 years all together! The staff is friendly, equipment is improving daily & the gym is neat & clean. We are fortunate to have fantastic trainers & coaches and the opportunity to train for Strongman, Highland Games, Powerlifting, & much more with custom made equipment & top notch coaching w/ Dean Munsey! Whatever event you're training for, or if you're just looking to stay fit - the RAC will support your goals. My 13 year old son is now a member too and loves it! read more

I can't help but love the RAC! Before Branegan took over, I liked going, but I didn't love it. It always seemed like something was broken and/or dirty. Since he's taken ownership, it's turned into a whole new place. It doesn't have that typical "meat-head" vibe. This gym is welcoming to people just starting, and those who have been lifting for years. The staff is fantastic. They make me feel like there's a family atmosphere, which keeps me coming back. Plus if you need a spotter, which my husband always does, they are there for you. I'll keep telling my friends to come here! Keep up the great work! read more

Horrible place to do business with. We tried to cancel service and it look two months to get our service canceled, and that was only because we filed a dispute through our credit. Crooks work here and I would never recommend it to anyone. read more

I don't know why they even bother to have those things on the machines you plug into to listen to the TV's. Most of them are missing and the ones there don't work. This gym has really gone down hill. When something breaks it's not fixed in a timely manner, if at all. Not very clean either. The locker rooms were redone last year but look dirty. There has been a tic-tac in one stall for months in the corner. It's under new ownership but no one was ever really told. You would think the new owner would introduce himself. Maybe he's embarrassed. And don't get me started on the A/C, what a joke. The group classes up stairs are effective because it's like working out in a sauna. read more

I used to love going to the RAC, loved the classes and staff. Once new ownership took over things went downhill. I have been trying to cancel my membership since May, it's now July. You have to speak with the owner in order to cancel your membership, problem is he is never there and the staff doesn't know how to get ahold of him. I don't think that's very good cutomer service. If you use a wheelchair, don't plan on taking a shower here! A bit over 5 years ago my old gym, DAC (Downtown Athletic Club), in Redmond, OR closed. Their membership was transferred to a gym called Xtreme Fitness, now named Redmond Athletic Club. I utilize a wheelchair to get around because of a spinal cord injury back in 1987 so I need to use a shower bench to take showers. One of the first things I noticed when going to the new gym is they have a very nice roll in shower, but no shower bench to sit on. When I asked what I am supposed to sit on, I was handed a plastic chair...one of those $5.00 ones you find at Wal Mart. Well, the first time I tried that the back legs collapsed on me and I fell backward onto the shower floor. To this day they still do not have a shower bench for someone with a disability like myself to use. I guess they think it's okay for me to on the shower floor or take a shower in my wheelchair?! Dating back over 4 years I have made multiple requests with their ownership/management through email, written and verbal means but they don't seem to think a bench is necessary for me to take a shower. A couple months ago I noticed they were remodeling their locker rooms and even had the showers torn down to the studs. I thought to myself this would be the perfect time for them to install bracing for grab bars and shower benches. When the construction was finished there was nothing installed. The only reason I still go to this gym is because it's so close to my house and my daughter works out there to. I have a feeling the employees there view me as the complaining gimp who wants his shower bench. Yes, I notice the raised eyebrows, smirks and murmurs from the staff there. They don't realize it's not only the right thing to do, but it's also part of this little known law called the AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT. Sheesh, get with it people...or shall I grab the Wal Mart chair again and let your insurance adjuster know how dangerous it is for me to take a shower at your business? read more
