And this is particularly true of Lynn's. What attracted me the first time was seeing the spinning globes on display in the window. These decorative items suitable for a table, desk or shelf were unlike anything I'd seen before. Without a visible power source they appeared to rotate indefinitely as if propelled by some perpetual motion machine. In fact, the globes are actually powered by light, and they are fascinating to watch. But as intriguing as these were, they were not the reason I returned to this store. My return visits were prompted by Lynn herself. This is a lady who truly loves what she does and loves the customers she services. A visit to Lynn's is like stopping by to visit an old friend. You'll end up swapping stories about what is going on in your lives and while away several pleasant minutes in conversation. And even if you leave the shop without a purchase, you will think it was time well spent. Of course Lynn will be happier if you do buy some of the several unique and wonderful items available. But I suspect that she won't be all that disappointed if you don't. This is a lady who is in the people business first and the retail business a distant second. You will notice many reviews from folks who enjoy the experience of walking through and browsing. Unfortunately, for serious collectors, it runs into the problem that plagues most antique malls. Everything is priced at a level that expects negotiation, well above comparative prices. Pricing in the modern antique market has a lot of sources of prior sales. Unless the dealer is there or present, or you're local, you can't do that negotiation. So unsurprisingly, my only purchases were with dealers who were present at their stalls, and those were reasonable deals after they knocked some off the prices. The other issue is there are, or were when I was there, multiple points of sale across stalls rather than one counter, so it's sometimes a little unclear where you're supposed to pay for something, especially if you're using a credit card. My advice because of that, as with most antique shops, is to bring cash.
