Absolute scam of a company. Do not bring your vehicles here.
Lets start off with my own faults: Told everyone in the place while walking out the door that their company was a joke. Also informed the 2 men outside smoking that if they work on vehicles, they should really understand electronics and how they operate inside vehicles. This was heavily exaggerated on by the employees to the insurance agent in charge of my case. Was also yelled something from the shop by one of the workers, but didn't hear nor care what they had to say.
I was told by this company, that my Air Conditioning issue "was like that when it got here..." Well one would only assume that bringing a broken car to a repair shop would warrant an actual repair on said vehicle, but I guess whatever you can do to keep that thin line from tipping over into "totaled" means your company profits and everyone else gets screwed in the process.
Firstly, this vehicle was struck directly on the drivers side front wheel. RP Bell refused to do an alignment until I arrived on Friday, and demanded one. I was told "We looked at it, and it doesn't need one." And yet there was no balance check, no alignment, nothing. Checking with physical eyes is apparently acceptable enough not to give a car an alignment when it was involved in a direct wheel impact. This alignment was done that day, as requested. After having to drive up there to physically deny the car myself. My word over the phone was not good enough for RP Bell. It took me traveling 2 hours round trip for them to take me serious enough to give the car an alignment.
Secondly, the wiring issues. 2011-12 Chevy Cruze is notorious for electrical problems. Most of these problems occur once a connection has failed. What happens, is the electrical charge bounces back, and fails to hit a capacitor built into the circuitry of the electrical boards. Once this capacitor reaches it max, a fuse blows. Much like a light filament in a lightbulb. Chevy, failed to make the proper capacitors to channel the back charge. This causes other units on the car to fail. I tried explaining this to the workers there, and was met with snide responses of "We are an autobody shop, electronics have nothing to do with that". Humm, with every make and model car past 2016 having built in cameras, sensors, alarms, and not to mention Tesla being one giant computer, I find this very hard to believe. Electronic Engineer and Automotive industry go hand and hand now. You do not go through any training now a days without gaining knowledge on electrical components in vehicles.
Their "repairs" that they did do, are already coming apart on my car. Both areas under the headlight and not secure to the frame of the car. The right side panel is cracked directly under the headlight where it SHOULD clip on.
I was pleased at first, at the level of autobody work that this company did. My issues with them were entirely about the failure of giving my car an alignment until I had to fight them on it, and casting me off as a liar when I tried to explain past issues with the electronics with this vehicle. Upon leaving the store, I informed them all in a very loud manor that their company was a scam and a joke. It was rude, but warranted by the abhorrent behavior I experienced. Never in my life have I even been rude like that, but I'd gladly do it all again. This "good enough" mentality at the shop is unacceptable. 92 Honda or 2019 Tesla, a customer is a customer.
The current state of my car, will need atleast another 1,000$ in repairs to fix properly. Not to mention the fact that it is already on its way to another body shop to finish up the job this one failed to do.
Beyond disgusted at the level of customer support this company has. Beyond disgusted at their employees blame shifting to get out from under something that should be THEIR responsibility. If you can't fix it, then its up to YOU to bring my car to someone that can. I understand you do not possess the necessary equipment to run a full vehicle diagnostic on the car. I understand those are IP claimed BY Chevy themselves, and only Chevy can do them. But I DO NOT appreciated being called a liar when I am trying to explain this to you. Your 2002 emissions code machine will NOT pick up electronic failures. Only Chevy can do that. So why wasn't my car at Chevy? Why am I picking up my car after a solid week of you having it, when I had to fight tooth and nail just to get you to preform an alignment on it? When I had to travel to Saco Maine JUST to get you to do an alignment in the first place?
Car looks nice, upon bringing it to Chevy in Portsmouth, they pointed out the autobody work wasn't installed correctly. Several missing brackets, small crack in the front skirt by the headlight on a "new" part. Had to fight tooth and nail to get the car aligned, when the direct impact was to the tire itself. And still have a slew of power failures inside the vehicle. Vehicle remains undriveable. read more
