He had such a severe issue with lunging at other dogs during walks that I became incredibly concerned he was aggressive. As a result, I started avoiding other dogs altogether and kept him out of the dog park because I was convinced he was dangerous. To address this, I decided to try their pack walks, which focus on different training areas--including leash reactivity. After a few pack walks, I saw a huge improvement. Enzo did great, and there was no leash reactivity at all! That success encouraged me to invest in formal training, so we enrolled in the four-week program with Zoe. The program included two to three training days for Enzo and one for me each week. After just a couple of weeks, I noticed an immediate change--starting with significantly less leash pulling, which was amazing. But what Zoe really did was build a solid foundation and give me the tools I needed to continue working with Enzo. Make no mistake, training takes effort, and you have to put in the work. However, after feeling so anxious about walking him before, my stress level has dropped significantly, and I'm actually enjoying our training sessions using the skills Zoe taught me. Enzo and I both still have work to do, but the foundation has been set--it's up to me now to continue his progress. The transformation has been incredible. He's like a different dog! It never felt like Maisie was simply another dog she walked. Karen treated her like she was her own. Knowing Maisie was with Karen gave us complete peace of mind. She is incredibly trustworthy, attentive, dependable, and caring, and it was always clear how much Maisie adored her. Finding someone you can trust completely with a beloved pet is rare, and we never took for granted how lucky we were to have her. Honestly, leaving Karen is one of the hardest parts of leaving the neighborhood. She became such an important and special part of Maisie's life and ours, and we will miss her tremendously. Her latest stay was 2.5 weeks and while she was exhausted when we picked her up from playing so much she is very healthy and happy. In situations where our travel plans have delayed us in picking her up, they have always been incredibly kind and understanding. We started adding walks to her long stays so she gets some individual outside time in addition to all day inside playtime. I have nothing but good things to report about the Barkmont and they make being a dog owner in the Bay so much easier. I also think they are just really good people, I heard they now partner with local pet rescues to give their foster dogs some socialization and love. Makes us feel good supporting them. At the other facility, Ollie for the first time displayed separation anxiety. The first time he did so, I thought he was just a bit nervous. The second time he had that look in his eyes that said, "do not leave me." Recently, we returned to the Barkmont. There was and continues to be a completely different response from Ollie. HE CANNOT WAIT TO GET IN THE DOOR AT THE BARKMONT. He absolutely loves the staff - professionals who are all very loving, kind and tender with the dogs. I should add that Ollie is somewhat of a higher maintenance dog - a 2-year-old 80 lb Samoyed who is an attention hound. I really like that the Barkmont has cameras so that you can log into to see how your fur baby is doing during a stay. The dogs are constantly monitored by staff who are in the various rooms - to ensure that no one gets out of line. Alot of additional services - meals, walks, bath etc. Kirk and Amanda - the owners both love dogs. They have provided in my opinion the VERY BEST DAYCARE FACILITY in the Bay Area.

Our rescue dog Wyatt has always loved other dogs and people, but when he first came to us it might…read morebe said that he loved them too well. We were incredibly fortunate that K Lynn spotted my wife being walked by Wyatt. Over the ensuing months, Wyatt went from a loving but somewhat unruly dog to -- I have to say it -- the perfect dog. OK, I'll grant that every dog person says that about their dog, but K Lynn has done some amazing things with Wyatt. First of all, his recall is ironclad. He can be running away from me toward some desirable target, like another dog or a squirrel, but when I call his name he slams the brakes as though he's seen a cliff, then trots happily back to me. Second of all, he went from loving other dogs by immediately jumping all over them to being a very polite canine citizen -- sidling up, bowing, and taking the full measure of the other dog before engaging in play. I can take Wyatt anywhere without fear that he'll run away or misbehave. Third, he's just happy. You can tell. K Lynn will swear up and down that she's not a dog trainer, and I suppose that's the case. But in my experience, if you've got a dog who's got some rough edges, she is fantastic. She starts by working one-on-one with the dog to make sure she can manage him in the context of a pack walk. Then she'll introduce him to other dogs in the pack, one at a time, to make sure he can be socialized. If all goes well, pack walks follow -- at first with a short leash, and then slowly with more freedom. As this process progressed, we could see Wyatt's home behavior improving every day. K Lynn is a pro. She communicates clearly, follows through, and runs a very tight ship. With her on the job, I know I don't need to worry about Wyatt during the day. She's also been great about advising us on how to make sure we're all sending the same signals to Wyatt. She taught me how to use eye contact and non-verbal communication with him, and since that day I haven't had a single behavioral issue I couldn't correct. She has a true gift for canine communication, and I'm grateful to have learned a bit from her.
