This was a number of years ago, and I still have his muffler on my bike today. It (still!) looks clean and sounds fantastic to this day. Not having a clear idea of what I was looking for, I gave Brad creative control of the small project and he killed it. Bought a 32x48x1/8 drop piece of 3003 aluminum sheet to make an aluminum radiator shroud. Found out…read moreafter I bought the piece, it was too thick to bend in the brake I have access to. So I tried to return it for another piece about the same size but smaller gage. Gal who helped me originally, was friendly and tried to help me find something again and left me to look around. I decided on another piece almost exactly the same size but smaller gage that would work in the brake. Brought it up front to the counter and then when the guy behind the counter asked how he could help, i said "the gal who had helped me before who was standing there, was helping me." Then some guy with a beard said out of nowhere " We don't do returns or exchanges on drop pieces," considering they are called the short iron store one would think drops are their main source of business and it wasn't like this was scrap or salvage aluminum. ON THE RECEIPT IT STATES "all returns must be presented with a receipt within 7 business days from date of purchase all exceptions will result in store credit (valid for 365 days). So basically I just lost $22.00 dollars when the receipt says very clearly their policy and there are no exceptions listed(See attached receipt). I got upset flew off the handle and basically said, "either you give me a refund or you give me this piece in trade". The piece i was trying to trade for was half the weight and scratched up so it wasn't like I was getting a good deal, yet still the bearded guy who claimed to be the manager would not work with me in any way. I told him "you will have to throw me out or call the cops because i am not leaving without my money or this piece of aluminum." He tried to get tough and told "take my piece of aluminum and leave," I said "you better go call the owner, because I am not leaving until I get my money or the piece of aluminum I can actually use." So finally he goes in the back and makes a call or does something and comes back and said, "ok you can take the piece of aluminum you want." I had to go through all of this drama because they couldn't accommodate helping me address my simple issue. In the end they made out, they made twice as much because I got half the weight in aluminum. Needless to say this is why I deal with salvage yards for most of my metal needs, far cheaper and often times they have good quality scrap for not a 1/4 of this places prices. Be warned don't buy unless you are certain what you need or you will be stuck with it.

There isn't a supplier in North Texas that can match the Customer Service or reliability of Short…read moreIron. They have very quick turnaround, and great selection of materials. If they don't have something in stock, they will help you find it. The free cuts they offer can't be matched at any other vendor in the area. If they were closer to me I would not purchase steel anywhere else. Most steel yards are dirty, have compromised material, and very slow service. They are definitely the GoTo supplier in DFW. Highly Recommend!

Jay recommended an LT4, 650HP engine, bad idea. Issues included chassis/body fitment problems, steering noise, nonworking gauges, rear windows and wiper motor failures, top misalignment, transmission tuning problems, crooked exhaust, and sloppy interior work. I also later learned there was a better, less expensive chassis option that was never presented to me. In my experience, this shop overpromised, underdelivered, and failed at both transparency and quality control. If you value honesty, safety, craftsmanship, and accountability, do not trust this shop with your vehicle. Jay and Shari Riggs ripped me off and destroyed our dreams for my wife's first ever classic car. Now we are left with a useless 57 Bel Air, $188,000 later. Stay the heck away from Riggs.
