I've been involved in a few weddings, and my thoughts about the pictures have always been "eh...there ok", I've also noticed that during the whole "picture taking time", everyone is cranky and just wants to get it over with. My husband and I first chose Angela because she made an effort to come to our house to interview with us on a weeknight (she lives almost 2hrs away) and because she was very friendly and super sweet. She showed us all of her equipment, went over her website with us, and she even went over HER favorite photographer's website to show us the kind of work she is inspired by and emulates. We are glad we chose her because not only did she show up on time the day of our wedding, she was fantastic at giving tips and suggestions to me (non picture related) while I was getting ready and she had a way of putting me at ease. I hardly knew she was there all day and she made sure to get all the shots that I asked for and some that I didn't but ended up loving. She was even able to get great pictures of people that I haven't seen stop and pose for a picture EVER. She was young and fun, and she made sure the portrait pictures that everyone finds insufferable, were done in a fast and efficient manner. The other reason we really liked her was that she had a very photojournalistic approach to her photography. While she was very aware of the desire for regular posed portraits, she made sure to capture a lot of the little "moments" that make the most memorable and treasured pictures. On top of all that, she was very reasonably priced and was willing to work with us on the different packages that she had available, mixing and matching what we wanted and needed with our budget. She also travels all over NE, and is willing to do destination weddings if her schedule allows. The only negative thing I could possibly say about her, which isn't really negative was that she uses pictage.com to post your pictures on after for an online proof viewing. She passed around a sheet at the wedding for guests to put their email on it and they would be sent a link to the pictures. I just wish she would have let me seen the website BEFORE everyone else, that way I could make some of the photo's private if I didn't like the way I looked or the way something came out, but other than that I think it's a great idea that the guests can see all the professional ones without having to pay for them. I thought to myself, "It's such a shame we didn't arrange to take any pictures on the beach after the ceremony. We are on Cape Cod after all". I was bummed but I didn't expect anyone, let alone our photographer decked out in equipment, to trek ALL the way down to the beach just to capture a few pictures of the Cape Cod sunset. Well, I had clearly underestimated Angela's dedication and love of her job. She caught my eye, looked up at the sky and said to me and my husband, "Crazy idea guys, I know you were planning on heading to the cocktail hour after the ceremony but the sunset is so gorgeous...would you possibly want to head down to the beach to get a few sunset shots?" Just one of the MANY reasons why Angela is so awesome. Now picture this; a bride in her wedding dress, a groom in his tuxedo, a videographer and two photographers with all of their gear RUNNING to catch the perfect sunset picture on the beach. I'm not kidding, we actually RAN to the beach. FYI - Angela also possesses the rare ability to run while simultaneously taking amazing photos. YEP, she's THAT good. Not only did we make it to the beach, we made it there JUST in time to catch the most breathtakingly beautiful sunset I have ever seen. Everything was perfect; the lighting, the water, my husband... the list continues. It was there, on the beach, that I realized how truly blessed my husband and I were to have Angela as our wedding photographer. Her unique ability to capture the beauty of the sunset while simultaneously portraying the raw emotions that my husband and I were feeling is the most precious gift anyone has ever, and most likely will ever, give us. Angela not only met our expectations, she far exceeded them with her exceptionally high quality of work, personability, professionalism and love of what she does. She is not just a photographer. I had a bunch of projects I finally got around to addressing. I took all the old cassettes and…read morebrought them to Steve for him to produce digital copies. He emailed me an initial estimate and then brought up one of the cassettes; it was in particularly rough shape - the tape was old and had issues and the sound quality was not great to start with. I especially appreciated Steve's communication about this cassette. After he tried a few things, he let me know its condition and then asked how much time I wanted him to spend on it. He presented me with where he would start and, if it didn't work, what he would do next. I explained it was a bit of a family heirloom and so I wanted him to do whatever it took. After another week, he explained the steps he took and then sent me the updated bill. This communication and care with the projects made this a very easy and comfortable process. There are so many absolutely amazing aspects of working with Mari that it's hard to know where to…read morestart. She is talented, kind, creative, a great communicator and listener, and just an all-around supportive and calming presence in the midst of wedding planning chaos. My wife and I started the planning process knowing nothing about floral design -- we had a vague vision and general flower types and colors we thought we liked, but not much else. From our very first conversation, Mari gently guided us through the entire process from start to finish and brought that vague vision to life in a way that was 1000% better than we ever expected or hoped! She went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect (including spray painting our ceremony arch in the days before our wedding since the color wasn't quite right, spending hours on set-up and take-down on the hottest day of the season, and so much more). As a result, the flowers were a standout highlight of our wedding day. We could NOT get over how incredibly beautiful everything looked, from our bouquets to the ceremony installation to the tablescapes, and neither could our guests -- they're still raving about her work months later. (This sounds like an exaggeration, but it's not.) In addition to florals, Mari designed our invitations and welcome sign -- which matched perfectly with our floral color palette -- and was an advisor to us on so many other parts of the planning process, outside of florals and paper. Throughout the whole process, she was flexible and understanding about our budget, hardworking and committed to making our ideas a reality, and always fun to chat with and be around.
