In April of 2026 I made my mind up to find out if I was told the truth three years before by a well known HVAC contractor. I asked Racso to look and see what the problem was. The previous contractor said the unit was dead with no coolant left in the system. They said they must replace the outside unit plus the two units in the house.RACSO found two leaks one at the outside unit and the other in the lines going through the garage to both inside units. The starting price from the original contractor was well over $20,000, on the way out the door he lowered it to $12,000.. We laughed in his face and used window units for three years. Enrique from Racso Plumbing and Heating was very helpful. A few weeks ago we noticed there was a dripping in one of our copper pipes and major rusting. We didn't notice it before, but knew this was not a problem we wanted to wait. The next day Enrique came to consult and we found out instead of the pipes having to be replaced in a certain section, our water boilers had to be replaced too. My husband found Racso Plumbing and Heating on Yelp. Told me it had great reviews and we wanted to give them a chance. Luckily we did. When Enrique went to open our old water boiler, there was so much rust in the water. Now imagine the same water we drink, shower, multiple uses - it was horrifying to know but so glad it was a problem solved. Oscar came to refill freon in my old air conditioner. He is very capable and thorough. He went to the attic to check the air handler, which is something two other technicians didn't previously do. As he was filling refrigerant, he was monitoring not only pressure but also temperature at inlet and outlet. Along the way he explained technical aspects of cooling. A couple of negatives: communication was a bit slow and very terse. They didn't respond during a holiday, and I was not sure if they were coming or not. They quoted $165 but charged $300. I called them to change a pump for my boiler. The employee came in a pick up truck, not a truck with any logos of the company. I told him what the job was and asked for a price. He gave a price of $550, the cost if the pump on line and at Hone Depot was $128. He wanted almost $425 to install the pump, which we thought was a ridiculous amount of money. We looked on You Tube and were able to install the pump in less than 30 minutes. We are not plumbers, a plumber would have been able to do it in half the time. That would have been $825 per hour. Gave us two possibilities (told us the price for each) and said he would be at our house at 8 am. He came and brought a replacement pump for the grinder. Excellent service by the Racso Team in fixing our heating pipeline which had a leakage underground. We had a couple of others come by to give quotes but also on how they will perform the work. However Racso only only gave us a great price, they were going to action out the work where the pipe wouldn't be exposed and they would patch up all the walls as well (others wanted the $ & were leaving the pipes exposed in our family room which we would have to spend more $ to cover on our own).
