I was out of town. My furnase was turning off. Justin showed up and told me that system needs to be detailed cleaned, that he can not even see the water level on the glass tube due to the dirt. Quote was ove $700 for that. I asked him to just flush the water. He called Igor and he refused to flush my furnase. I requested that Igor calls me back, he never did. The technician that came showed on time, used shoe covers, wore a mask without being asked, explained things to me as we discussed options. It was when I got the actual estimate I was stunned. The prices were astronomical. I shopped around and we went with the second highest estimate we received and the prices from WaterMac were more than twice what I paid - and I went with a company that is known to have some higher prices. We ordered a new dishwasher through Home Depot, but they said the pipe under the kitchen sink that's connected to the dishwasher would need to be replaced in order for them to install the new one. I sent Yelp and direct-website-messages to 7-8 companies. Most of them never even bothered to respond (despite sending follow-up messages) and 2 said they don't do that sort of work even though they are plumbers? WaterMac not only responded quickly, but they were able to come out to inspect quickly, and he was even able to fix it in the same trip. The technician also gave me separate quotes for other things he noticed that could use some work, and I was able to pick and choose which ones I wanted done right then and there, and I have the quotes in my email to reference if I want to go ahead with additional service later on. I can't speak on the price, since I got no responses from other places to compare with, but I appreciate WaterMac being responsive and communicative. The technician Justin was also right on time and very professional. One thing to note is that they charge $60 to come out and quote, but if you go with them for the service too, they will put that $60 towards the bill. read more

--Update-- The company offered to return and complete the inspection at no additional charge or accept our suggestion and issue a refund for the charges. We requested the refund to our CC which processed a few days later. For the refund I added one star to this review, however I am still unhappy for the full hour we spent, the aggravation, and that we went through a pandemic risk (in case the technician had covid, even though he wore a mask and shoe covers) for nothing. We completed the inspection with another provider and fixed the problem. ------------------////--------------- They told us they will inspect our HVAC on the roof for $59. And they stated that after the inspection they were to tell us what is wrong, and if we agree on their suggested fix, they will deduct that amount from the repair total. We agreed. After the technician got on our roof they said to my partner that we must pay this fee for "dispatching" and that the real inspection fee is $120. We refused. Called the company and asked to speak with the owner or a manager, only to be told that "NOONE was available". No inspection was performed. Still, we were required to pay $59. Had some water leakage from my furnace and contacted Watermac through Yelp for a non-emergency appt. They responded very quickly. On the day of my appt, I received text confirmation with a picture of my technician and a link to track his location and ETA (LOVE this). My technician (Joseph) arrived within the scheduled time frame. He was upfront about everything through the whole process, including costs and diagnostic theories, and did not pressure me into repairs. Overall I was very happy with the service - as far as costs, I really have nothing to compare to the work I had done (drain cleaning was about $240??) but the $170 diagnostic fee seemed comparable to other estimates I received. Our first floor toilet was leaking onto the roof of the basement. We thought it was the bathtub drain that was leaking. We arranged for Igor to come and check it out. We sent pictures to him so that he could give us a quote. He gave us quotes for initial inspection and then the different fixes that may have to be done. Our sink was backing up into our master shower. The shower was draining very slowly so we knew there was a clog. I found the reviews on Yelp and messaged WaterMac. They promptly responded and sent Justin to our house within 2 hours. He promptly snaked the shower drain and found a huge wad of matted hair that was likely very old and causing our drainage issues. He promptly removed it and tested the sinks and showers. He was very neat and used a drop cloth and booties. He cleaned any residue which came out of the drain with a sponge. I received an estimate for 4 issues, they worked on 3 of the issues but charged me MORE than the itemized estimate and said "it was for all of that extra work"...in short, I was overcharged which included being charged for a part/labor that did not correct one of the issues (otherwise 4 star service for sure). What a great overall experience with WaterMac Plumbing. Igor the owner was VERY professional and extremely responsive. From the beginning was he was completely transparent and accommodating. We scheduled a time for our appointment, i received a text when he was on his way and guess what unlike many contractors i've dealt with in the past showed up on time! When he got here he introduced himself and was personable. It seemed like perhaps there was potentially a misunderstanding on the # of faucets that needed to be fixed but he even handled that Professionally and i didnt feel like i was being taken advantage of. While he was here i also asked about adding a valve and he didnt try to "sell" it to me hard like others may have and/ or give me a ridiculous price.
