Gord and I had supper this evening at Radical Road (on Queen Street E/Jones Avenue). They have been around for about three years and it's the first time we've checked it out. They brew beer onsite and you can buy some to go. My Slingshot was tasty! Gord and I split an order of pretzels. They were soooo good! The pretzels were hot and soft ... the beer cheese and grainy mustard were tasty. We'd get this again. We also ordered wings. Gord got his plain and I got mine with Buffalo sauce. They were good too ... very tender and my sauce was good. We'd get these again. Rachel and Slash were our servers. They were friendly and chatty. We'll be back!

Ended up taking the entire line up they had home with me.

#pandemicreview This place is open for business with Plexiglas barrier and employees wearing the proper PPE gear. The heat wave has made me thirsty so I figure it's time to stretch my legs in the neighbourhood and find some tasty brews. I walked into Radical Road and was greeted with a cheerful hello. I only intended to buy a few beers but ended up taking home one of every kind of beer they had including some new additions that weren't advertised on their website yet (hint: they're delicious!). I have always enjoyed their Yuzu citrus beer and the new Funk & Sour series definitely hits me with flavours of passion fruit and other tropical sours. Thanks Radical Road for the great summer beers!

Very tasty beer at this very small brewery. They basically converted a small restaurant space into a long cooper topped bar space with a few tables scattered around. The "Brewhouse" is visible through a glass wall and it has a few small batch pots and a small kitchen. Super cool vibe with classic rock playing in the background. It's dimly lit so the copper bar top really pops. I had a flight with some spectacular choices: Yuza Pale Ale, 8 Track IPA, Django Dopplebock and Sea Monster Porter. All the beers were fabulous examples with tons of flavour. I sampled the Straight Up Sour with Blackberry, oh yeah!

    All gone!!! :(

Small craft brewery/bar in Leslieville (I think that's the neighbourhood) that serves a limited menu and a tiny list of good beers. I had the St. Arnold (Blond) and the 1847 (Red). Add a Brunette and it would have been interesting... :)) The server was quick, I swear that she was psychic and pre-poured our beer and had it behind her back as we ordered. No sooner did I say the beer did a finely poured amber nectar in a glass show up in front of me - better a bottle in front of me than the frontal lobotomy! Snacked on the kettle chips and a hot pretzel...yummmmm! The bar itself has limited seating at the bar and a few tables. A nice neighbourhood hangout and it would be a RAD place to hang out and become the NORM there...! Figure that one out. Cheers!

Another summer weekend... another microbrewery to check out. This one is further out east and looks like just a regular bar but it is a great spot that has a cute little sidewalk spot to sit and enjoy the sun. I love local business and Radical Road fits into this so nicely. It's found in Leslieville and unlike some other breweries, it does more than IPAs! I know thats the trend but there are some people who like a beer to taste like... a beer! The spot isn't too big but enough where you can fit a group of 4 on the sidewalk, at least 8 people along the bar and more table seating in the back. The atmosphere is great... lots of amazing pieces that are eye catching and bringing in an antique industrial vibe to the spot. Service here is just super friendly. I cant ask for better service either... completely knowledgeable about every beer they brew, anyone here can help you find the one that would be your perfect pour. For the ones I tried in a flight, I have to say they're inventive. With options like Cucumber mint (yes you heard that right), Yuzu, and Peredition (chocolate milk stout), you will find a lot of different flavours beyond your hopping standards. Another great thing about trying the flights, they offer a lot of the beer in cans at prices that are super reasonable. It seemed to be a hit that got tons of locals coming in to grab 12 cans to go somewhere for a bbq. Cucumber Mint Kolsch - This is for those who dont like the traditional hoppy beer but love a refreshing summer drink. It does have a cucumber light flavour ... didn't taste the mint so much. Really easy to drink. Yuzu Pale Ale - Of the beer we tried, this was a zestier take than everything else. I would say the citrus flavour is a bit muted compared to other ones in Toronto but definitely another easy summer patio beer to those who are looking for a good refreshing lemon note to their beer. Genesis West Coast Tripel - A more traditional flavour as it has a rounded hoppy note that is prominent. Still quite light in flavour so it appeals to all those who are in the IPA bandwagon. I found this one to have a bit of a sweeter note than your usual IPA... they describe it as being fruity so I can see where it came from. Honestly a great local spot for those in Leslieville. Definitely the spot to be at because we never saw the place empty... always filled with locals and chatting with the really service.

Great decor, and something coming out of the kitchen. Unfortunately we weren't there for food. Picked up 2 types of beer to try and chatted with the waiter. Would I return? Yes Would I recommend? Yes

What a great little place this is. Excellent brews to choose from, Great eats to enable you to taste more of the beers and impeccable service from the staff. The gentlemen that was holding down the fort seemed like an honest, fun and approachable dude. I had a great few conversations with him from gaming to tattoos and folk lore. The people that frequent this place were an great eclectic bunch. My party had struck up various conversations with 3 different group that were sitting beside us. YES DON'T JUDGE US, We may have stayed here for a while, almost 5 hours actually ahaha. Do yourselves a favor and drop by this place. Also might be a good idea to follow them on IG as they post events they maybe having including Whiskey Wednesdays....That makes me tear up just a lil bit lol.

Beers and sharable bites from a microbrewery - satisfies all the requirements to be in Leslieville. Walking in, it's an inviting bar with their brewery in the back. They have seasonal beers and as soon as I saw cucumber mint I was sold. Came here on a Saturday afternoon with my partner, looking for something casual. There was sprobably only another party in the place, with some families outside on the small patio out front. Beer Flights ($10-12): Slingshot, St Augustine, Shoreline, and Cucumber Mint. Strong ales are my favourite, having more of a punch to really get my night started. The Cucumber Mint was super refreshing and you can really taste the crispness in the drink. Mini Smoked Salmon and Salt Cod Cakes ($16): Decent, crispy fish cakes with a light cream beneath. Personally, it wasn't worth it for the price of 6 small coin-sized pieces and it was pretty flavour less. This is where they lose the stars for me. The service was great - super helpful and nice even when they did forget our water (small little detail though!).

Small but seemingly popular brewpub. We were looking forward to trying this place, but left somewhat disappointed. It's very dark inside, and the service leaves something to be desired. Beers were a bit overpriced and unimpressive. We did not try the food here...

They are really known for their beers. We ordered a flight to try and we liked the Yuzu and the Cucumber Mint beer the best. I highly recommending getting those two. We ordered the Jerk Pork Tacos (our favourite), Beef Wraps, and Crispy Chicken Tacos. The beef wraps had slices of beef and it was cooked medium rare but very chewy. The two tacos were really good but we liked the Jerk Pork the best because of how the flavours fit together.

Hereabouts is a Queen East storefront microbrewery way close to home. The pub itself has a great classy intimate neighbourhood vibe, and the service even more so great. It practically feels like a tight living room. They squeezed in a tiny street patio, and there's hardly much room for a big party with only a couple tables, but the bar's really where you want to be. You can't really see the in-house brewing operations which is buried behind the kitchen and also a windowed room downstairs (I believe the bulk of their operations is off-site tho), but wait until you open your mouth. They have a full stocked bar, though you're likely here for their own suds, right? Besides their crispy signature SlingShot (available in cans at many LCBOs) and the interesting and highly recommended-by-me, amazing Yuzu PA (punchy citrusy flavour made with imported Japanese yuzu juice; also available canned at many LCBOs), they have a constantly rotating lineup of other tasty interesting, out-of-this-world in-house products on tap. They offer tasting flights of any 4 beers for something like I think, $10 or $12? Food-wise, the brewpub has a tiny menu of fine cooked grub that seems to change often. Someone beside me had a massive Shepard's pie that smelled amazing, but I simply snacked on the kettle chips ($5) with my many beers, and those were a fistful of well-seasoned fried yum. If all you want is drinks to take home, the "bottle shop" is really just a vintage fridge right next to the window. 8-Track IPA in stubbies--we go way back. Was a pleasant experience and the aperol and wine was refreshing! Our only complaint is that my salad came out way before his burger and we weren't sharing since I don't eat meat so we basically shared my salad since we were starving then he ate his burger as I waited since it took probably another 10 minutes to arrive.
