Went back as a party of 7 last week for a team dinner (the Thursday right before #Brussels Lockdown…read moreset in). Once again, food was fantastic - tasted great and friendly service. Love that they have menus in English for the non-local language speakers. Of the 7 diners, I was the only one who had been here before, and 2 people who actually lived locally had never heard of this place and were a bit dubious about my choice of making a reservation here for our work team's dinner. But by the end of the meal, all my colleagues was totally wowed and blown away by how good the food was, and everyone was super content. We ordered an entree this time - the potato pancakes and you absolutely have to try these with the accompanying apple sauce! The pancakes were crisply fried, tasted heavenly, but then eating them with the apple sauce took them to another level where it was fried, crispy, sweet, salty and soft - and all these food textures just hit the taste buds with a bang and it's the best kind of party in your mouth - I would totally recommend! For the main, one colleague got the sampler, and polished off every bite, two other people got the Turkey with a red pepper mushroom sauce (15,50 €) and also polished off the whole lot, another colleague got the schnitzel, but I decided to get the Crispy Roast Pork with beer sauce (15,90 €) and for my accompaniment, I also got the Bavarian bread dumpling (3 pieces of deliciousness in each bite). When the food arrived for the rest of the table, the waitress realized she had missed putting in an order for one member of the party, and I liked that she was honest and upfront about her mistake, didn't try to hide it, but apologized and the missing plate was delivered fairly quickly to my colleague afterwards. Despite this small hiccup, everyone was making appreciative noises over their food. I absolutely loved my crispy roast pork - it was so tender and juicy and the beer sauce just complimented the flavors perfectly - would absolutely get this again in a heartbeat. The accompanying bread dumpling soaked up the sauce on my plate and also worked as an ultra satisfying counterbalance to all the richness of the pork and beer. For dessert, two of my colleagues split the Fried Applecake with cinnamon and vanilla ice cream (8,50 €) and there was an audible gasp of surprise after they each took the first bite and then both commented that it was really good, so I might have to get this next time rather than my regular Black Forest cake dessert! Another colleague got the Cup Black Forest with chocolat icecream, vanilla icecream and warm cherries (6,50 €) and it's important to know the difference because this is an ice-cream version of the cake, not the cake itself! So tummies full of comforting, hearty and delicious food, we headed back out into the night. Am so glad was able to introduce my local colleagues to this wonderful restaurant, and a lot of them mentioned they would be back!

The food was basically good, fast, hot. If you need a menu in another language, just ask, they have several, and it was helpful for one that does not speak/ read German. The staff was very accommodating and spoke very good English which was so appreciated. For traditional schnitzel, you can pick your size (by weight) and your sauce (there are several). They also have several pre designated specialty schnitzels based on cultures. I got the traditional pepper sauce which was very good and my son got the "England" and was quite pleased with it. 200g size was plenty. Dishes come with a choice of potatoes that are unlimited refills, and each dinner comes with unlimited trips to the salad bar which is basic but has everything you need for a decent salad.

A friend and I once stayed there well after closing, killing bottle after bottle of Riesling, and the owner/manager continued serving us! Very rude of us for sure, but the staff were quite gracious despite our appalling lack of manners. Hey, we've all been there, so don't judge too harshly. Peter's certainly didn't. When I think of schnitzel, Peter's inevitably comes to mind, often times haunting me and taunting me in my dreams. And yet, no matter where I go -- even in Bayern where good food is the trademark, nothing comes close. Not even by a mile or a kilometer. And that's why I hate this place so soundly! The Schnitzel is pork, breaded, cooked to perfection (crispy and juicy) and then loaded with onions and local beacon and finally topped with an egg. Usually they add as a side of homemade fried potatoes (Bratkartoffeln), which are fantastic. But you can ask for other items such as fries. It also comes with a nice fresh small side salad. The portion is so big, that I usually forfeit the potatoes....because there is so much greatness on the main plate! This is truly a local specialty and they prepare it 5 stars. - They also prepare certified meats from animal welfare, which is well worth it.

A couple nights ago we had the steak filet (very good) and the lamb filet (fantastic). After being seated, fresh warm rolls with butter are brought to the table. We had a beer and a Shiraz (super). The Shiraz paired well with the lamb, which was served in a wine sauce. Really. It was amazing. Green beans wrapped in bacon and two potato au gratin stacks were served with the lamb. Everything was perfectly cooked and the flavors, well-balanced. The dessert served with the lamb dinner was a chocolate mousse which I didn't really care for. It wasn't bad, rather, a bit too sweet after the dinner and there wasn't enough of the chocolate flavor. It came with a small scoop of what I think was caramel ice cream. This was delicious. There is a main dining room and several smaller rooms, all of which have wonderful architecture and individual charm. The service is unsurpassed. TIPS: 1) Make a reservation! 2) Perfect for a casual meeting, business meeting or a romantic night out. 3) Although, people do take their kids here, it's not recommended unless your kids are very well-behaved.
