Chanel at the front desk gave us such a warm and friendly welcome, and the butterfly pea drink was a fun, unique treat. The room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, with an amazing view. Comfy beds, thick luxe towels, Nespresso machine, and the ice machine has crunch pebble ice!!! I love pebble ice! The pool area was the highlight. The tropical saltwater lagoon with small tropical blue fish was really cool, and the heated pool with a waterfall and waterslide was a huge hit with my husband. lol. The hospitality team made use feel so valued during our stay. The nightly turn down service w/ aromatherapy spray, chocolates, and a light cleaning is so nice to come back to at the end of our night. The complimentary WiFi for Marriott members is always a great perk. On our second day, when we logged on and we received a prompt asking about our stay so far, we asked a question and they certainly went above and beyond and delivered. Thanks so much to management/customer relations!! The entire hospitality team, including our kind housekeeper, Steven at the restaurant, the breakfast host/servers, and staff who delivered items up to our room, all provided such wonderful service. Everyone truly made it a memorable stay! **Ooh the breakfast buffet at the restaurant is delicious! The…read moreFront Desk Manager told us that the height restriction for underground car parking was 2.2m when in effect, it was 2m. This required my husband to reverse back up the driveway onto the busy road. We were directed to park our camper van on the street which required walking on the nature strip immediately outside the Hotel. . Monday 11 November 2024, I walked two steps on the nature strip and fell into a deep hole. Notified Front Desk Manager who immediately went to the CCTV cameras for verification and returned with an Incident Report form. She offered us zero assistance as my left foot was swelling fast and then I was informed that she was the First Aid Officer. A complaint was made and the following day the General Manager sat with my husband and I for breakfast. He was very open and honest with us and stated that he had reported the hole to Gold City Council but they needed to replace the concrete kerb guttering so the issue was ignored. I went to a Gold Coast doctor on the day of the incident who informed me that my left foot was badly bruised. Two and a half weeks later, a MRI was undertaken and I had fractured bones, torn tendons and mild plantar fasciitus. The MRI results were sent to the Mercure Hotel Manager who told me that he thought I was fine because I was walking on the foot! He could have put a barrier around the hole to prevent this incident but he failed me completely. Foot is not healing so may require surgery. Two x-rays, a MRI and an ultrasound.

The staff were friendly enough, the bedroom was modern and the water pressure was good. Free underground parking was also good, as many hotels on the Gold Coast charge for this. The TV however lacked Foxtel channels, and I was disappointed to see that room service ended at 10PM (according to the menu), when I was hungry a bit later on. Since filling out the hotels feedback survey, I have been told that the room should have had Foxtel, and that there was a limited 24/7 menu. They said that they would investigate, though offered no compensation. These complaints may be a bit trivial and wouldn't put me off recommending the hotel for a place to stay, though at the same time I will probably go somewhere a bit nicer next time, and would not recommend the hotel for a romantic weekend away.

She immediately became aggressive and told me to "fix my face or fuck off" . I decided it wasn't worth the hassle and ignored them and began to enjoy the show when suddenly her husband comes over to me, leans right in my face and tells me "Do you have a problem? Because I'll give a problem, cunt." He then threatens me and my family and says he can't wait follow me after the dinner and he's going to slit my throat. Obviously I was extremely distressed. I left the restaurant and asked to speak to a manager. I spoke to a manager but absolutely NOTHING was done! I was told I could leave ( no refund on meal that was $500 for three people) or return to my table where I felt afraid and intimidated. I returned to my table because we had paid for the evening. But I was so upset and did not enjoy my evening at all. I felt sick. Why is it ok for a man to threaten a woman at the Hilton? He should have been removed for threatening me. I asked to call the police because I wanted to pursue the situation but the Hilton asked me not to call. I agreed because I thought they would deal with this man and his family but they did nothing! In retrospect I should have called the police because what this man did was not ok! Do not stay or dine at Hilton Surfers Paradise because they will do NOTHING to protect you against aggressive people. I will NEVER patronise them again and, as a local, I will advise everyone to avoid this

Dented and scratched my car on a tight turn - my fault of course but don't bring a large SUV / car. Smoking is not allowed on balconies, however our balcony had used cigarette butts littering it from previous occupants. Supposed to be able to cast from devices to TV but it didn't work (code on TV rejected). Room okay otherwise, beds comfortable. Pool is okay for adults don't recommend for kids. We went for a swim at about 4pm after arrival and the spa was full of adults drinking alcohol (it's a licensed premises). Sign states no glass drink containers yet they had glass bottles. Sign says no jumping from spa to pool,but kids (and one parent!) were doing it anyway. Needs maybe a fence along edge of spa, one where adults in spa can still supervise through. Exterior looks a bit run down. Lifts are odd, to go from room to car park you take lift to lobby level then change lifts to go down one more level. Buffet breakfast was good. We'd originally booked this as a family of four under my husbands name. He became ill so we postponed our stay and were given credit. Later he passed away. I called to rebook for us three and it had to stay booked in his name, but was assured a note was made in the system that I would be checking in and why. When checking in the staff said the names were different so I explained. He checked and then said there was a note saying yes, I was checking in, and not to ask why. Then he wanted to charge for the room, and I had to get him to check again so he could see the credit. He apologised and I get it, I just really didn't want to be in the lobby explaining my husband was dead...again.

Housekeeping was excellent, rooms were on the large end and very user-friendly with USB ports all over the walls, plenty of electrical sockets, and a personalized welcome message on the TV screen. The buffet itself was very lackluster at night with an odd selection of mediocre foods, some shrimp, and some overcooked roast. Their breakfast buffet is much nicer, although it fills up almost as soon as the place opens up. They have an omlette station, lots of fresh fruit, and their hot plates are constantly refilled.
