My bucket list included "get back waxed" and so glad I chose this place to complete that task. First off. Staff is amazingly nice. Felt like we had been friends before meeting. And it helped me relax cause I was nervous. Sara was the person who did the wax and they did their best to put me at ease with conversation and reassuring me that the process wasn't going to be difficult after seeing my back hair. Explained what they were going to do and kept me distracted by talking to me during the actual process. Before I knew it, it was all done. Highly recommend this place. I've been a regular at half a dozen or so tanning places in the last few decades and while they've all been pretty good, none of them compare to how great Rae Bar is. They excel where one would most want them to, namely cleanliness, service and reliability. I have been following my girl Sarah around FOREVER and I'm so glad that she's going to work for the new Rae Bar Aesthetics. I love that although the business is new, updated and under new ownership that she's still in the same location. The new owner is THE SWEETEST! I remember seeing her when I would come in to get my brows done by Sarah, and she was always so welcoming and kind. More about Sarah - she's the nicest human and is so gentle even though she's ripping out my crazy brows and stache LOL sorry for the TMI but lets be real, you're reading this because you might be getting waxed. Do you want someone who just HURTS you when they rip the hair out? No! She has a gentle touch and if you see an area that needs a little work (not likely to happen as she gets it right 99.999% of the time) you can tell her and she's happy to go in more. Which honestly I didn't always feel with other people at other places (looking at you Ulta). I feel like other estheticians I've been to look annoyed when you ask for them to to go over a certain area again. Not Sarah though, she wants to get it right and make you happy. No ego, just amazing at what she does. This is now a novel about how much I love Sarah, but also from the photos I've seen of the remodel, omg it looks SO GOOD!! The day of my appointment, I got a call from my sister she had to put her dog down very suddenly, a dog a spent years of my life with. I had to rush to be with her. I still managed to call Rae bar more than 2 hours before my appointment, still in tears, and explained the situation. They responded without an ounce of empathy or human decency. It was baffling. I didn't even know how to respond I was so caught off guard by how cold this woman was to me on the phone as a struggled not to cry when humbly asking for a cancellation. This review is so long overdue!! I'm am incredibly grateful for this place. First and foremost, the staff. They are so sweet, genuine, warm, and accommodating. They say to make yourself feel at home and they truly do and say things that make you feel comfortable and valued. I go for the tanning beds. Originally I got a package for the lay-down beds and because of my body type, I felt I wasn't tanning properly. They allowed me to change from laying down to standing up, without any issue which I was so happy about! I can listen to music through a blue tooth while tanning which I love! The prices are really good. The place is very clean and has a very beautiful, unique atmosphere. The owner is an absolute doll! She is so sweet. So engaged! You know, this pandemic has made us think about all of the beautiful little things we take for granted in our daily lives. I've been to numerous spas and tanning salons all over the Bay Area and California in general. I would like to start off by saying from the first moment I walked into Rae bar I felt like I found my home for a tanning salon from the warm and genuine welcome that I got from the awesome owner priscella and also a couple of her staff. She treats you like family and has such a relaxing layout. The salon offers an array of services to suit all of your needs. The tanning beds are comfortable and efficient , the inferred sauna is amazing and rejuvenates you top to bottom and the facials and waxing services are on par as well. I would drive 45 min or an hour to come to this wonderful establishment any day of the week. Since finding rae bar I have been happier , felt better about myself and my days feel a lot more relaxed and less hectic. This review is for Priscilla, the owner, the facility itself and for the use of the infrared sauna. First, Priscilla is probably the nicest, sweetest, kindest salon owner I have ever talked to. She is so friendly when you first walk in and she wants to make sure you have the best, personalized experience. She is incredibly accommodating, and I love that I can text to make appointments. She always gets back to me quickly and tries to make sure she can fit me in at a time that works for me. The salon itself always smells good, is clean, and feels safe (she and her staff wear masks). The experience in the sauna is heavenly. It's always heated to the right temperature, and the ambiance in the room is peaceful and relaxing. You can have music or silence if you want. Be sure to read the great info Priscilla added to the website about the sauna! This will help you to receive the most benefits from your time in the sauna.
