Sarah emailed that bob Smith does remote repair, for small jobs and he will be coming out soon, once I had new buttons. Others were long gone. Long story, went online for leather buttons , no luck. Went to Joann's Fabric in Corte Madeira because they have everything, yes couch leather buttons. But they were not the same color and pattern. I email Sarah at Michaels Custom Built Upholstery asking if they could reproduce the buttons. Yes. I drive to the shop and spoke with Michael Jimenez, the owner and he said , "Sure". Showed me the button forms and matching leather. Almost apologetic he said he couldn't do them today but Monday. No problem. My take is if a craft business will take the time with all the courtesy of someone who is having custom construction done, and I am having a tiny job done, you know Michael and Sarah and their craftspeople will deliver the customer service that so many corporate business' have put secondary. Very impressed!

No real complaints, however a few of the screw holes in the wood backing were covered by vinyl, which made reassembly a bit more tedious than it should have been. He helped my pick a fabric to meet my needs and even called me back when he found a better deal on a fabric he thought I'd like even better. He picked up the sofa, fixed all the cushions and recovered the sofa and made zippered covers for all the cushions. He even added some extras, which I had meant to ask for but forgot- like arm covers and some throw pillow covers. He also brought two options for the back cushions so I could test what I liked best. I couldn't be happier with the results, and it was a pleasure to work with someone that values high quality workmanship!!! I LOVE my sofa more than when it was brand new.
